What happened, Colin?

Alleging that the 32 owners of the NFL conspired against Colin Kaepernick to keep him off of the field, Kaepernick’s Attorney, Mark Geragos, released a statement on Sunday explaining the reason for the lawsuit.

The NFL Players Association released their own statement regarding the lawsuit.

The NFL is yet to issue its statement on the matter, however, fans of the sport have given their opinion on the lawsuit.

Since Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the 49’ers, the teams in the NFL have seen multiple reasons to stay clear of the free-agent.

According to former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, the Ravens were close to signing Kaepernick before his girlfriend, Nessa Diab, posted a tweet ridiculing Lewis Steve Bisciotti, the owner of the Ravens.

“We were going to close the deal to sign him,” said Lewis on Showtime’s Inside the NFL as cited by USA Today. “Steve Bisciotti said, ‘I want to hear Colin Kaepernick speak to let me know that he wants to play football.’ And it never happens because that picture comes up the next day.”

The tweet, which Lewis said was “racist,” compared a picture of Lewis hugging Bisciotti to a scene from Django Unchained.

“(Diab) goes out and put out this racist gesture and doesn’t know we are in the back office about to try to get this guy signed,” Lewis explained.

Kaepernick himself has compared people to slavers in the past.

After the officer who shot Philando Castile was found not guilty of all charges, Kaepernick compared modern police officers to fugitive slave patrolmen.

He has also refused at least one contract offer since being a free-agent, The Daily Caller reports.

According to an NFL inside source for The Daily Caller, Kaepernick allegedly told his representative team to not sign a contract offering him “backup money” of $900,000 per year.

“Colin thinks he’s fighting a much higher battle than he is,” the source said. “He views himself as a race messiah.”

The Daily Caller reported in August that several teams, including the Seahawks and Dolphins, reached out to Kaepernick in the offseason.

It seems the race card is the only thing Kaepernick will be playing for the foreseeable future.

Didn’t he quit? Opting out is quitting, hoping for more $$. Some one lied to him. He is a moron and deserves nothing. I’m tired of this clown. If I sucked at my job, turned into a baby then quit…Imagine doing that working your job. You are not getting a good reference and will be labeled as toxic employee. No one owes him a dime or a reason. He knows why he is out of a job. He knelt to pout and be spoiled baby, not for oppressed anything.

  • I could just be the Kap is too much of a butthead for his so-so quarterback skills to overcome. He’s just too much trouble.

    • Syrkai

One too many knocks to the head.

  • 0bsoleteMan

He hired a white lawyer lol.

    • shhhhh

      Probably his relative! haha

  • misha1d1

They just need to show video of his play to get this tossed out.

    • Dave Silva

they just need to show that teams tried to sign him until he made horrendously awful public comments about them. No judge will side with him after what he did to the ravens.

  • Syrkai

“Runaway Slave Patrol” that sounds like my kind of job

    • One-Eye

You’d have to join the Democrats, though. Could you stomach that?

      • Syrkai

        Haha second thought maybe not

  • Paul Ridgley

So he opted out of his contract and now he hasn’t a job….is he THAT stupid????

    • Whatever

Was gonna get signed by the Raven’s, then his gf (the REAL problem behind this race issue) ran her mouth on twatter and the Ravens backed out of the potential contract.

      • Taquoshi

And I, for one, can’t blame them.

  • One-Eye

He grovelled and that didn’t work, so he went back to the tantrums.

  • True.Epic.Crusader

Hey guess what Colon Crapernik, nobody owes you a job, filthy muzzscum.

  • Quiet Desperation

Normies: This Kaepernut can’t get any more toxic.

    Kaepernut: Hold my beer…

  • Chad Steen

Could Kaeper-Prick just get fucked by a donkey with AIDS already? Can somebody get on that?

  • While we’re on the subject of “respect” I do remember a Rep. Joe Wilson calling a sitting President (Obama) a Liar during his State of the Union speech in 2009.

Where were the Republicans then about “respect.”
I don’t believe an apology was forthcoming.

While we’re on the subject of “respect” I do remember a Rep. Joe Wilson calling a sitting President (Obama) a Liar during his State of the Union speech in 2009 — The backdrop of the Commander-in-Chief being the American Flag

Where were the Republicans then about “respect.”
I don’t believe an apology was forthcoming. Nor should we expect one.
It seems painfully obvious that only the Democrats are expected to apologize.

    • lylo

Both parties condemned him, so he apologized. The apology was then accepted by Obama. Then the House reprimanded him–and this is where the Republicans disagreed, by the way, as they thought the apology was enough. Then everyone on the left decided it was all because he was a racist.
Also, due to the “pay and chase” model of enforcement for the law, Joe Wilson wasn’t wrong and a lot of money has in fact gone towards illegal immigrants receiving ACA benefits.
(Good job providing the actual context of the interjection, btw.)

  • Dave Silva

he’s decided he was done with football and this idiotic publicity will give him a cushy media job somewhere. Sad thing is he is probably right.

  • StuffNThingsNStuff

Good luck with that Kraeperdick. You know YOU are the real racist in this.

  • myddrinemrys

    1. He walked away from a $13 million dollar option to test the free market.
    2. He turned down a $900,000 back-up role. That is what the free market said he was worth.
    3. His stats declined steadily after his first two years as teams figured out how to handle him.
    4. His public persona has become so toxic and the benefit he brings to a team so minimal that he is now unemployable. The NFL is willing to forgive a LOT if you have talent. (See: Peterson, Adrian and Lynch, Marshawn).
    5. Best of luck as your remaining NFL money goes to pay Gregorias to rep you in a losing suit.

  • DaisyToo

Odd how these football players whine about cops and the justice system. Can’t post link, but if interested, do a search for NFL player arrests USA today. These guys get treated w’ kid gloves when they commit their crimes!

  • Tym O’Byrne

Typical liberal, its not because you suck, its because….. [/sarcasm]

The woman who stirs the pot.

One day in the near term future, I suspect CK is going to wake up and instantly regret his relationship with her.

  • Chris Scheidler

What a stupid idiot. I wouldn’t let him bring water for my athletes. Somebody take a knee for him? Hehehe ….idiot.

  • seventensandnine

The fact that his attorney is a white guy is quite possibly my favorite part of this story now.

No, wait… here are some of Mr. Geragos’ more notable clients:

    Michael Jackson
    Winona Rider
    Scott Peterson
    Chris Brown

That might be my favorite part.

  • Robert A’Beuy

I wonder if he’ll end up like Ryan Leaf?

Who cares I like the protests. Pro sports were invented to keep the
mentally handicapped busy and make them feel like they contribute to
society. We have athletes in college; they’re adults with reading and
writing skills of 5th graders. One in five are functionally illiterate.
Sports was also designed to keep viewers of equal or lesser intelligence
entertained because it’s cheap to produce, No writers, no script. Sports fans watch their
favorite players do as they are told, they don’t challenge authority or criticize the system in the same way that soldiers are taught not to complain. The system equates obedience with
being respectful, honorable, and responsible. Someone who speaks out is disrespectful, a smart ass, immature, or perhaps a lunatic or a criminal. Sports and sports talk shows, Owned by the same corporate giants who own most of the media. Try calling into a major sports network with real questions about freedom, tyranny, sports, and the global government agenda and see how far you get; you will be “off
topic” and easily cut off. You stupid little brainwashed masses. Watch
your games, drink your beer, wait til tomorrow, do it again. Americans
wake up to the reality that America is hijacked by thugs who hate the
Constitution and freedom, sports remain in the way of consciousness
making it nearly impossible for tens millions of young men and women
to think on their own for a moment, look around and see the crumbling
nation that was once America. Bernays also noted in his 1928 book,
Propaganda, that “propaganda is the executive arm of the invisible
government.” Sports as a method of mind control. The central
theme is the same throughout: divide and conquer. The techniques are
quite simple: short circuit the natural tendency of people to cooperate
for their survival, and teach them to form teams bent on domination and
winning. Sports has always had a role as a key distraction that
corrals tribal tendencies into a non-important event, which in modern
America has reached ridiculous proportions where protests will break out
over a sport celebrity leaving their city or starting a riot over which
team won. I don’t care what you do during the national anthem, stand,
kneel, dance, handstand, break dance, do the robot, jumping jacks, do
pushups, pee your pants, Cause I’m not there to see it. I’m at home
reading a book on a comfy couch; you paid 50-100 dollars to sit on an
uncomfortable plastic chair chugging 8 dollar beer and a 5 dollar
pretzel. Now a word from our Sponsor. Golf is the last dignified sport
in America. It’s quiet, peaceful, the place you play is beautiful. They
don’t politicize the game by catering to a political demographic, they
don’t fly F-16’s over the golf course at every tournament.
