Turning Point USA (TPUSA) at Kent State University received backlash after holding an “embarrassing” anti-safe space event on Wednesday.

TPUSA members, with assistance from the Young Americans for Liberty Chapter (YAL), set up a baby guardrail, child-oriented activities, and dressed in diapers and baby-like clothes as part of the event.

Liberal students at the university responded by posting flyers criticizing TPUSA around campus. One flyer noted Charlie Kirk, Turning Point’s founder, writes for Breitbart, a supposed “neo-nazi/white supremacist (alt-right) newspaper.” Another flyer called the demonstration “embarrassing.”

Kent State TPUSA President Kaitlin Bennett told Campus Reform that “the idea . . . was to show how ridiculous safe spaces are.”

“We were being ridiculous and absurd on purpose to showcase how adults look when they say words hurt their feelings,” she said, adding that she feels the outcome of the event was generally positive as TPUSA “got so many people talking and a lot of people loved our props.”

Although there was a backlash towards the event, Bennett believes “[t]he majority of people who didn’t like it were the SJW keyboard warriors who stalk TPUSA at Kent State’s Twitter.”

According to Maggie Pusateri, a freshman in the TPUSA chapter, “liberals saw the event solely through emotion, as usual, rather than through reason.”

“Yes, it could be taken offensively, but the reason we do events like this is to get people’s attention, not because we believe they actually wear diapers or anything!” she added.

Unfortunately for the Kent State chapter of TPUSA, the event has been condemned by regional staff of the group.

According to TPUSA’s official Twitter account, the event “clearly crossed the line and delved into the very obscure and inappropriate.”

Although TPUSA stated it supported the intention of the event, the “execution and choice of imagery was poor in taste.”

TPUSA, WTF are you doing? This was EXACTLY what needed to be done.

Isn’t there some old saw that begins, “Stick and stones may break my bones”?

Give me a break. If people are saying mean words to you on teh interwebz, employ the damned block button.

    • Ruth Gauthier

You are assuming that the easily offended are sane enough to be self reliant, they are not, but they do need an audience to witness their temper tantrums.

      • myddrinemrys

True, and very good point. We have an entire generation of perpetual children.

    • Gene C Clark

“but words ( or names, depending on where you heard it ) will never hurt me”. Yup.

      • harlan leys

        Names, words what’s the diff.?

  • Bryce Byerley

if you are offending both sides…you are doing it right. Reading the TPUSA press release makes me sad. So many bow ties are now out of kilter…

    • GTKRWN

I don’t see anything about “both sides” here, though. Not in Milo’s writeup, or the original story. Where is this other side?

There was a metric ton of assblasted SJWs (some of which actually do wear diapers…) and the liberal college itself being hot about how it’s their own policies that allow SJWs that are being mocked. The organization making a pathetic CYOA apology to stop from being shut down or censured for pissing off their jewish overlords isn’t being “mad” about anything. A moderately conservative writer noting that liberals are notoriously hard to actually make fun of because normies don’t understand how insane a liberal actually is (mostly thanks to a lying liberal media keeping it quiet) being met by some fuckmad liberal with a Hello Kitty flier making another “white people who disagree with us are Nazis” accusation doesn’t mean there are actually two sides either.

      • Metric ton = 2200 lbs…. So only a handful of sjw’s, by weight?

      • harlan leys

They pissed off Libtards and Contards (Turning Point USA HQ); their own side, as well as the other side, so to speak.

  • Gene C Clark

Thats brilliant, well done. Safe spaces are imaginary…they do not exist is this world.

    • Wrong, there’s a bunch of mini safe zones!…right behind the barrel of every NRA member’s gun, they’re just spread thinly across the entire country, lol!

  • Jeffery Fizer

I disagree I agree that it was very appropriate and right in line with the actions of the alt-left, SJW, liberal whiny butts.

  • whaddacrock

Judging from the response by TPUSA – I wonder if they are same ones as the people in the NFL offices who refused to make a stand for America….backstabbers, IOW’s….

  • Freedom of speech all the way around! Sjw’s get to bitch, the university admins get to be their audience and tpusa are free to call themselves spineless chicken$hits laying there in a blob for their first amendment rights!

  • Mayowa

A few of our chapters are putting forth a bill and launching a letter writing campaign to put a stop to white people naming their children after a racist person from the past. At the minimum you will have to sign a contract stating that you are aware you have chosen a name for you child that was also the name of a racist. Such as Robert e lee. Hopefully whites will recognize some of their names are from past slave owners and change their current names through the courts.

    • Steffy93

      What?

    • Casey Kowalchyk

You should probably hassle all groups equally lest you get devoured by the beast you are feeding.

    • harlan leys

      FOAD, fokwitless

    • GTKRWN

lel. The negroids named “Washington” will be given a pass, of course.

  • taijiguy .

Looks like someone touched a nerve.

  • Atlichna

If something like this offends them, it’s probably because it’s reflective of reality and the true nature of safe spaces. If it wasn’t, they could just laugh it off as a joke. But obviously, that’s not the case.

  • The Wale

An ingenious well played out protest. I love that offensive people were offended.

  • Steffy93

The liberals observed others behaving in the way liberals do…and labeled it embarrassing??
They are as dumb as a box of rocks.

  • ranterator

Safe spaces will be safe until the day a bunch of these cry babies are hurt while huddling in their safe space….

  • Free NJ

Not as offensive as real “safe spaces.”

  • topcat_99

They forgot to put their safe space inside a free speech 1st amendment space. If they had done that it would have been ok.

    • harlan leys

      Safe space from fellow travellers

  • harlan leys

Is Kirk’s ego threatened by these upstarts daring to speak freely?

“We deem such speech ‘obscure’, ‘inappropriate’, in ‘poor taste’ and disapprove it.”

With such fairweather friends, who needs foes? Libtards are laughing. 🙁

How about saying something constructive, like debating instead of denouncing?
