When Hugh Hefner launched Playboy magazine in 1953, he could not have imagined how vital he would become in the defense of the First Amendment and free speech in the U.S.

On September 27, 2017, American icon and guardian of the First Amendment, Hugh “Hef” Hefner died at 91 years old. He died as he lived, comfortably in the Playboy Mansion, surrounded by his loved ones, and, one would assume, an entourage of beautiful women. A huge part of his controversial image stemmed from the fact that Hef was a patriot and ardent defender of free speech, women’s liberation, and civil rights. If there’s one thing we’ve learned recently, exercising free speech tends to ruffle feathers. Responding to the news of his death, fellow ruffler of feathers and free speech crusader, Milo Yiannopoulos, called Hef “a role model to handsome, promiscuous, wealthy men everywhere,” concluding, “We shall not see his like again.”

Hef was not just the man that created America’s most iconic adult-oriented, sexually-liberated publication, Playboy, as he actively fought against both censorship and discrimination of all stripes. The adage “sex sells,” doesn’t just apply to cars and beer, and Hef wasn’t selling magazines, he was selling social, political, and cultural upheaval, using Playboy as currency.

A compatriot in the battle for the First Amendment, Milo reflected, “Were I not Yiannopoulos, I should like to have been Hefner.” And let’s be fair, there are very few who would not. While it’s easy to see Hef’s public image as a womanizer – just the monosyllable, “Hef” is enough to conjure images of a parade of scantily-clad Playboy Bunnies –  he was dedicated to promoting a positive image of women in an era of prudish social conservatism. Hef’s opposition to social and legal persecution based on sexuality wasn’t limited to women, as he advocated for the rights of the gay community long before it became fashionable. He posited that failing to stand up and fight for gay rights would risk a societal return to a more “puritanical time.”

Hef’s devotion to the First Amendment was total, and his daughter, Christie, established the “Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Award” to recognize individuals who contribute to the defense of those rights. As norms shifted towards social liberalism, Hef stayed well ahead of the curve. Though the experiment failed, Hef supported the ill-fated decision to remove most nudity from the magazine, but as a former cartoonist himself, was hesitant about the removal of the cartoons. Even though the decision was reversed, the fact remains that Playboy was never about nudity so much as affecting change. In a statement, Milo explained from his own Hef-esque luxury estate, the Meme Mansion, “He will be remembered as a forward-thinking visionary who created job opportunities for women across America.”

Unlike modern “feminists,” Hef never dictated to women what was in their best interest. His stance was that women were capable of making their own decisions. Even as neo-feminists celebrate his passing, devotees of America’s fundamental freedoms will mourn the passing of a national hero. Hef was the embodiment of the American Wet Dream, an aspiration we should all strive for.

RIP Hef! You did more for sexual freedom and liberty than 100,000 university gender studies professors ever could!

Oh, come on Milo, don’t be so modest. (you’re every bit his equal — and then some)

Milo is meshugganah, but he doesn’t have Hef’s chutzpah…this is the difference…

You always be remembered Heff……for the articles.

  • Quiet Desperation

Brings back memories of a local thrift store as a kid. They had a table of recent to semirecent magazines way in the back with everything from Popular Mechanics to, yes, Playboys. The way they were constructed at the time made it trivial to quietly swap covers and put a Playboy into a different cover. The little old lady at the register never thought to check.

I was the porn merchant for my whole middle school.

Supplement for Leftists: there was no Internet then.

Here’s the diff between the “Modern Con” websites of Ben Shapiro and Milo: Shapiro’s piece is the polar opposite of an “hagiography”, an attack piece accusing Hef of being a ped, a peddler, a pornographer, a destroyer of always-intact American prudery…Milo, a total gay guy, sees him for what he was: A slightly better-educated carny barker of pussy and cocaine who lived a life all of us could only DREAM of, were we the least bit honest…

“I woke up today to the news.” I was having like, the worst nightmare ever, then I woke up to this Las Vegas story. Then I had to debate, which is worse? Always better to wake up, I suppose. I thought I was still asleep. Like you, I am unshakably pro-gun, however, the NRA types who are saying: “more guns would’ve stopped this guy” are wrong. Some gung-ho type online was saying: “Why didn’t they kick down his door sooner?” If you look at those black-faced hotel fronts, at night, I don’t see how it could be determined where he was, that was probably part of his ‘strategy,’ as far as a complete loon can be said to have a strategy. (break)
And there’s no point trying to figure out a loon’s mind: in this case, all we have to know is that Evil is real, it walks among us, and the liberal myth that everyone is redeemable is inapplicable. We can pray for them, we can try to help, but we cannot ‘fix’ it. Each shooting of this type that happens saddens me more, because the human race isn’t heading for improvement, but instead, more despair and acting out of this despair on others, or on ourselves. Plus, predictably, albeit stupidly, ISIS has taken “credit” for this shooting. This looks like some old drunk white guy, his brother said he had ‘no religious affiliation of any kind,’ yet here is ISIS. I guess they just want to be a part of any mass killing: if they can’t be responsible themselves, they’ll claim responsibility anyway: wouldn’t want to miss out! These are the sort of twisted minds we’re dealing with when you talk about ISIS. I digress… crimes at this level are so hard to wrap your head around, unless you can get inside the mind of the loon shooter. And who can? Another loon, maybe. Well, I’m talking in circles, but that’s a natural reaction to such events, I suppose.
Aside: one of my fave things about (old) Stephen King, before the SJW rot set in, is how he’d contrast supernatural horror in his books with real-life horror: child abusers, wife-beaters, alcoholics, assassins, mass shooters, etc. Real life deals us as much or more horror than any imaginary story can. King KNEW that, and he’d always have both, working side by side, in his best stories. Just to start at the beginning, for an example, “Carrie” is about dangerously violent telekinesis, sure, but it’s also about the cruelty of teens to each other, teen despair, self-harm, etc., which are all very UN-supernatural. That’s one reason King was so great… too bad what’s happened to him, but change is inevitable.
“I honestly believe he wants a war because then he would have achieved what the other Presidents couldn’t. ” It looks that way, yes. Otherwise, why throw shade on Tillerson’s efforts? I mean, Trump is probably right, it probably is futile, but why stop Tillerson or insult him when he’s trying diplomacy? Let him try, it would silence Trump’s critics if nothing else, there’s absolutely no harm in it. At worst, it’s a waste of time, so what? Hardly worth a critical, and ultimately undermining tweet, or series of tweets. In fact, if it delays KJU from doing whatever he has on the schedule next, it’s surely NOT a waste of time.
If Trump crowns himself Emperor Napoleon XIII, we definitely have cause to take pause… wouldn’t he need congressional approval for a coronation? 😉
The Newsweek link wasn’t complete, so I couldn’t open it. 🙁
For years, Comcast had a monopoly in my area, you couldn’t get AT & T if you wanted! Which was annoying cos 1) it’s a lack of choice, and 2) I own stock in AT & T and don’t want to support the competition! However, I hear they are coming to this area soon, and I can switch. I’d also still like to move, which might also solve it. It’s such a big deal to move, though, and I’d like to stick around for my Ma’s sake: all her other relatives are elsewhere.
“I’m thinking of spending some money around Thanksgiving, when everything goes on sale, and buy myself another laptop. Merry Christmas to me, early!!!” if you can, you should! It’s certainly something you get use out of. 🙂
This page seems to be slowing down (speaking of limping)… care to choose the next one?
    Later — let’s stay positive in the face of insanity….???????? ???????? ☃️ ????

“I was having like, the worst nightmare ever, then I woke up to this Las Vegas story.” I did too. I dreamt a swimming pool was filled with people and some guy took the ladder away and the walls around the pool were too high for them to get out and the water was low. He was trying to kill them, and like you I woke up to the news. I would have rather woke up to news of Trump tweeting than this.

I’ve been listening to more of the news. Turns out he had something like 19 guns in the hotel room. That’s crazy. I think 10 were the automatic assault rifles but there is so much going on. I’m waiting to hear the final report and what they say. It’s just so sad. They are saying his dad, “Bingo Bruce” was on the FBI’s 10 most wanted list in 1968.

“Some gung-ho type online was saying: “Why didn’t they kick down his door sooner?”, probably because the didn’t know, at first, where the guns shots were coming from. Nobody had an idea what direction they were coming from because of the echo going on. Once the found out, they kicked the door down, but then he had already killed himself. I think they were saying the shooting went on for about 4 minutes. I’m thinking once, he stopped, he then killed himself. He had to have had a strategy, he selected a room viewing the concert, he had the room from about 4/5 days, carried those guns in taken apart and they are saying that they don’t think he legally purchased all of them. Some of the Automatic rifles, they think he may have updated them to do the rapid firing. I don’t know but it sounds like he had planning time. Wonder if his girlfriend left him and he lost it or just went on vacation by herself? Those poor people were just sitting ducks from his high advantage in that hotel room. I can’t even fathom the fear they had to had felt. I’m sick of the political BS that is now going on; Both sides fighting each other over it. I was out on twitter and read some of it and closed down. This was a horrific thing this guy did, why are people fighting each other over it? My heart and prayers go out to the families & friends of the victims and the recovery of those in the hospital. Hillary and others were screaming about the NRA, I wanted to say, quit letting the NRA own you because all of you have taken political campaign donations from them, both sides, Hillary also. Are they really concerned about the NRA, or is it just a talking point for the constituents because they think that’s what they want to hear? I’m going to Listen to David Muir tonight, he’s doing a longer news coverage and maybe by then, they’ll have some more information.

“If Trump crowns himself Emperor Napoleon XIII, we definitely have cause to take pause… wouldn’t he need congressional approval for a coronation? ;)”, he’ll start a twitter war if they don’t. lol He can be such a dumb butt sometimes. If he would cut that ego in half, he would have a lot going for him. Get off of twitter and more people would start taking him serious. For a business man, he sure is dumb sometimes.

Limping: No, my wifi was limping. I fixed it, my fault. My house was build in 1945 and the owner used it as his 2nd summer home. Yep, he had a home and two summer homes. So one summer day, him and his family came to stay here but when they got here, there was a house build only 10 feet away from this house. I think this was about 1950. It was a smaller summer home that was built by a German couple. There aren’t that many homes around me and back then, they were the only two homes in this area. They had bought property to build their home BUT they build on the wrong property. They built on what is my property, so the owner of our house sold them the land. Now I go and move my computer desk by the wall facing the other homes wall, also close to my tv. I moved it away from there to day, just to rearrange and my wifi came back. LOL Of course it did, 1.) the AT&T line for that TV, interfered with the other AT&T line for another TV and the wifi, plus the neighbor’s wall I was facing is where his computer is. Those two things will interfere with the signal. Saved a service call there because, if they found that out, I would be paying over $100 for it. But then I go to my phone to call to cancel and my phone is dead. When I say dead, it’s dead,,,,period. It could be just the battery that needs replacing, so tomorrow I’ll run into town and either have to buy a new phone or new battery.

I heard Tom Petty died. Sad. I liked him. Now they are saying he didn’t die but is near death and on life supports. Seriously, can somebody get this right?

That All-in-one isn’t a bad computer, you just stuck in one place with it because it has to be plugged in all the time. So, I just going to use it for Farmville 2 and going out into the internet, otherwise I’m going to get the laptop and use it for documents and homeschooling. I don’t like being stuck in one place.

Stink Bugs: You were right when you said more will come. I have become very good friends with a can named “Raid”. I killed 9 in the house and 1 trying to come in by the window air conditioner. One more day and that can be taken out.

Things are really working out for me today, maybe I should play the lotto, my phone just kicked on. Glad it did because there is a next text from AT&T that they were still coming tomorrow and when I chatted on line with AT&T today, they said they weren’t scheduled to come. I just sent a message back to say, don’t come.

I like what Trump did today with flying the flags 1/2 staff and then came out with his staff and did a moment of silence. He scored one in my book on this.

Talk later. Please notice who is follow us. lol

“they are saying that they don’t think he legally purchased all of them.” Yeah, apparently many of the guns he had were on the “illegal” list, so all the people barking about Gun Control don’t realize that wouldn’t have worked here. I wish I knew what *would* work to prevent this stuff… 🙁

“I’m sick of the political BS that is now going on; Both sides fighting each other over it.” Too right, it’s such a strange and bad thing to be politicizing, but people such as Hillary and other ‘pundits’ can’t resist. I’m sure you’ve heard by now about the CBS producer who got fired for saying she didn’t care about the shooting victims cos “most of them were probably Republicans.” This is the country we live in, you and I. People are connecting anything and everything to politics, it’s really stretching in most cases.

“Are they really concerned about the NRA, or is it just a talking point for the constituents because they think that’s what they want to hear?” I think it’s the latter, myself. As you say, they are in the pockets of the NRA (both parties.) The Dems just say what sounds good and appeals most to Feelings, as usual. “Feelings… nothing more than feelings…” ????‍????

“For a business man, he sure is dumb sometimes.” I think he’s doing certain techniques that may have worked for him over the years in business… but maybe aren’t translatable to being President. His heart is in the right place, but his techniques are strange and sometimes inappropriate. Obama never had that problem, partly because he was an empty vessel that could be filled up with any old ideology. Ayers and Rev. Wright knew this.

“Now they are saying he didn’t die but is near death and on life supports.” Last I heard, Petty had been taken off of life support, but was still alive. I did hear he was dead first off, though. I assume, if they took him off of life support, it will be true soon enough, but that is messed-up reporting, which doesn’t help his family or fans at all.

“you just stuck in one place with it” As for me, I’m using a big Apple desktop computer, so I am pretty much stuck at the desk if I’m using it. I’m sort of old school, in that I need a real mouse, not a pad. ???? I like having this big screen too, so I can have many windows open at once. Like, I can read an article, and write to you about it without closing the article, that kind of thing. And for doing music projects, a big screen is helpful so you can see many tracks laid out.

“I have become very good friends with a can named “Raid”” lol Yes, I have many different colored cans of Raid around, I know what you mean. Many bugs here have a proprietary attitude towards coming in the house. I don’t go in THEIR houses. They’d kill me if I did (and I was their size.) So, I’m sure they understand when I call in the RAID AIR STRIKE. also known as bugs-b-go-2-hell. ????????????

“I killed 9 in the house and 1 trying to come in by the window air conditioner.” Hokey smokes: they like you! ????

good night, don’t let the stink bugs…. in. 😉

        • January

“Yeah, apparently many of the guns he had were on the “illegal” list,”; given that gun laws make acquiring a fully automatic weapon extremely difficult in the United States, if not impossible. But many technical hacks, some legal and some not, enable gun enthusiasts to turn their semi-automatic rifles into deadlier, rapid-fire weapons. Why do we even need semi-automatic rifles? I don’t understand how he managed to have 23 in his hotel room and another 19 at his house. Now they said on the news he also had some explosives in his house. If he was able to purchase all these guns then I would say we do need some type of gun laws to stop those huge purchases. Do you need a gun card in your state? Here we need, what they call a FOID card before you can even touch a gun in the store. To carry concealed, you need a 5 year permit and have to take a gun class. Now they are saying a lot of the guns he had, were bought legally and some, they believed he modified. Everything is still being investigated but two guns stores said he passed all background checks. Say he bought, 10 of them legally, shouldn’t there be some kind of an alert system in place that a large amount of guns are being bought? (break)

To do what he did, with the amount he had, he had to have been planning this for a long time. Just think, he selected the hotel room and floor it was on that gave him the best of view of that concert area. I know his girlfriend is in the Philippines, but didn’t she suspect anything? I heard she was there for awhile and he was sending her money. His brother helped him move and claimed he only had a couple guns but then you can dismantle them and hid the pieces in between other things in order to hide them. Hopefully they can found out more but then they may never.

President Obama banned contributions from lobbyists, The Democratic National Committee ended the Obama ban on lobbyist contributions, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. This ban needs to be brought back on both parties. Banning lobbyist donations prevents the expectation of donors and voters that the policies are dictated by corporations and the rich paying off the candidates with bribes. Both sides need to stop with the lobbyist donations, but money talks, and they are only afraid of the NRA because of those donations. Our government pays more attention to the lobbyist than the people.

I guess Chicago is taking in a lot of the Puerto Rico people and locating them in the PR neighborhood. You should have seen some of the people opposing this. One said we didn’t need them bringing in the poor, take care of our own citizens. Guess that person didn’t know the PR are our citizens. Another one said they were bringing them in just for votes. Ok, I’m thinking, we are such a strong Democrat state, that their vote isn’t going to change anything. Now if you moved out, about 90% of the Democrats out of Chicago, and brought in 90% Republicans, it would change. lol

“I need a real mouse, not a pad.”, I’ve always disabled the pad and used a mouse plus a different key board. If I would travel with it,then I just brought the mouse and use the laptop keyboard. If I would go outside and sit and use the laptop, then I would use the pad. I just don’t like being tied to an outlet and the all-one is really heavy and a pain to move around.

“Many bugs here have a proprietary attitude towards coming in the house.”, no kidding. Unless they are paying rent, they can stay out. By the time I went to bed last night, I got rid of 16 of them. When it got dark and I closed the drapes in the living room, the ones that were hiding in the folds, came out and sat there. Yep, I got out the vacuum and sucked them up. Their dead and funny, they didn’t stink. I caught one this morning who had slipped between the bottom of the screen and window and crawled in. I have floor to ceiling windows in the living room and open them from the top and up and out he came, and into the vacuum he went. That would be #17. So far, knock on wood, no more in the house but I’m sure they are lining up somewhere to come visit. This is the first year I had them in the house. I did put another sign out letting them know that, my house was a version of “Hotel California”, hope that scares them away.

People really were confused with Tom Petty dying yesterday. I was so hoping that it was one of those false stories but later he did pass away. I liked how they brought his song “I Won’t Back Down” for 9/11. It really fit that time. I liked his music.

Have to get going. Talk later.

          • David Watts

“Why do we even need semi-automatic rifles?” I think the answer is… and it’s not a good answer, nor is it an answer I like, but: they’re fun. Not for killing people, just because they are noisy and destructive. Things like that have a certain appeal, let’s face it. I myself am not immune. This is not to excuse anyone or anything: just because you have driver’s license and a car, doesn’t mean you can plow into a crowd… the same for guns. To answer your question: yeah, we need a gun card in this state: Cali is one of the strictest states for gun control. In the top 3, I believe, for most restrictions. Illinois must be up there too. This doesn’t seem to stop gun violence in Chicago or Oakland, though.

I was thinking about what you said yesterday, about people’s need to politicize this event, and to proscribe a political motive to the shooter’s actions and a political reason for his hate and evil. I think they want to politicize it because there’s a lot of debate right now about which side is causing the most violence: the left or the right. So, ascribing the shooter’s actions to one side or another is important for people involved in this debate. For the victims and their families and friends, I doubt it matters. When dealing with events like these, “what” is more important than “why,” although people will always wonder why. “What” happened, “what” to do about it, and “what” to do to prevent it are more important to me than trying to get inside a crazy person’s head.

“The Democratic National Committee ended the Obama ban on lobbyist contributions, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. This ban needs to be brought back on both parties.” Oh yes, that is *beyond* important. I’m not surprised Lil Debbie didn’t like the idea of cutting out lobbyist $$$. And the biggest lobbyists s[pend the most $$$. AIPAC is a huge one, and they contribute heavily to BOTH parties, just to be safe, like. Like if you went to the track and betted on ALL the horses in a given race… you’d surely win. Something. These Lobbyists have a ridiculous amount of influence, they get any amount of time with “lawmakers” to plead their cases (and pass a brown envelope.) And you, and I, and all the unrepresented people… have no lobby. If Obama was behind that, it was one good thing he did. I’m not sure how much influence the NRA has on Dems, with their anti-gun rhetoric being a sort of permanent plank in their platform. Maybe the Dems are just being wary around the Second Amendment? I don’t know. Maybe it’s like you said yesterday: the dems don’t care, they just say what they think will make people feel good at the moment.

“One said we didn’t need them bringing in the poor, take care of our own citizens. Guess that person didn’t know the PR are our citizens.” Zing! Good one, January. 🙂 People’s willful ignorance (and maybe some actual racism) is showing. I’d prefer a PR refugee 10 to 1 over a Somali one… less radical.

“funny, they didn’t stink. ” Maybe it’s a myth? Or maybe they are some other similar bug? 17?! It must be love… they love your house, anyway. ????

take care, thwack a bug for me… ????later…

          • January

“nor is it an answer I like, but: they’re fun.”, I agree with you, I don’t like that answer either. I’m sure they are and that’s all a non-military person can use them for, having fun. They have turned deadly and it’s getting worse and worse. AKA-15 & modified used in San Bernardino – 14 killed & 22 wounded, .223 Caliber AR Type Rife was used in the Pulse shooting – 49 killed & 53 wounded, and Las Vegas where he had these rifles but bought legal “Bump Stock” so it would rapid fire, which is a legal thing to buy. Don’t know how many rifles he changed with that. 59 killed & over 500 hurt. I don’t think they have an accurate count of who was wounded or injured from trying to get away. The reason I put those figures out here of the killed and wounded was to see just how it’s getting worse, more for myself as I write this. Other than fun, can you think of any reason we need them or should be allowed to buy them. I know, people say the 2nd Amendment. Our forefathers didn’t really have these type of weapons back then when they put the 2nd Amendment in. I have to laugh here because I think of what they had back then, if they could have seen into the future, I just wonder if the 2nd Amendment would even exist. I can think of one reason but it doesn’t exist right now, it would be the same reason as in “Red Dawn”.

In my state, Highland Park, Chicago and all of Cook County, assault weapons that hold over a 10 magazine and a lot of accessories that can change the 10 magazine to higher number magazines has been banned. Nevada law does not require firearms owners to have licenses or register their weapons, nor does it limit the number of firearms an individual posses. Local law enforcement issues concealed handgun licenses and that’s similar to Illinois but open carry is legal without a permit. And that’s how he was able to buy 43 guns and go unnoticed. Here’s a man who everybody thought was sane and one day, he snapped and planned this all out. (break)

Did you hear they are really interested in talking to the girlfriend after finding all these guns? The FBI is making sure she is getting on a plane to come back here. They aren’t saying when she’s coming, probably more for safety, but I imagine very soon. I was beginning to wonder about her when they said how many guns he just had in the hotel and the money he was sending her over there. Why didn’t she notice these guns? But then, he may have hidden them from her. He sent her $100,000 but that could be because he knew what he was about to do and wanted to take care of her. Why did she go to the Philippines at this time? He could have convinced her to go to be away when it happened. I really don’t believe she had anything to do with it but did she know about the guns?

“These Lobbyists have a ridiculous amount of influence, they get any amount of time with “lawmakers” to plead their cases (and pass a brown envelope.)”. That what a lot of people say about them. The NRA is mainly donating to the Republican Party, they did donate a little to Hillary. And not sure all that the Democrats have but they do have some high pockets also. Obama was right when he put a ban on it but of course Wasserman was having it.

This blaming each side is ridicules. He was mental, he flipped. The Republicans are blaming the Democrats that he is one of there angry people and the Democrats are blaming the Republicans because of voting down gun control. There is a problem in this country with guns, sit down and try to find the problem, find a solution to it, and go from there. The gang bangers get their guns from theft, some from Mexico and some, they get people in other states that have a clean record to buy the guns for them, of course they pay them pretty good to do it.

Only 2 stink bugs in tonight. They had been outside on the picture window in the dining room and I was watching them, then they disappeared towards evening and showed up on the inside of the window. They’re gone. Sucked up by the vacuum cleaner. They are stink bugs. I haven’t emptied out the big container that catches everything. It’s air tight while in place. So tomorrow, I have some garbage to take out and will empty it outside in that bag and seal it tight, just in case they aren’t dead, so they can’t get out. It’s not a myth but they have traveled up North here from the South. I’ll let you know when I open up the canister tomorrow. To get them to really stink bad, you have to squash them. Not doing that.

You have a good night and talk tomorrow. ????

          • David Watts

“Other than fun, can you think of any reason we need them or should be allowed to buy them” No… but I also don’t think you can put that genie back in its bottle at this point. If someone is willing to break the law as far as murder goes, they aren’t going to observe gun control laws, either. And we don’t notice millions of law-abiding gun owners, we notice the one who stands out. Thank goodness there are so few crazies, in proportion to the population… obviously, we need even fewer. I wish I had an answer to the problem. I just don’t think gun control works. If you could get Cerberus, Remington, etc. to all melt their semi-automatic products, that would be different…

“Did you hear they are really interested in talking to the girlfriend after finding all these guns?” yeah, I did. It would be highly unlikely for her to know absolutely nothing about what was going on, but we’ll see. Plus, there’s some report of this weird, mystery woman in the crowd warning people they were going to die. The cops are definitely looking for her…

“Obama was right when he put a ban on it but of course Wasserman wasn’t having it.” She may make a lot of her income from lobbyists, lol. Not that Debbie would ever do anything corrupt, no way, unh-unh. Here’s a fun graphic I found. It shows the largest contributors to BOTH campaigns in 2016, by the amount spent. Blue for Dem contributors, Red for Republican contributors.:

Some of these names will be familiar. And I’m sure all of them want something in return; they aren’t giving for goodness’ sake.

“They had been outside on the picture window in the dining room and I was watching them, then they disappeared towards evening and showed up on the inside of the window.” I had that happen with a bee — it was on the outside of closed window, then it was suddenly inside. They can squeeze themselves very flat when they really want to get in. I don’t know why the bee was so driven… ????

            talk later, good night????

“No… but I also don’t think you can put that genie back in its bottle at this point.”, I don’t know. Highland Park did but they were getting sued and the Supreme Court wouldn’t listen to the law suit, so technically the ban stayed. The thing with those guns, like in Vegas, you can kill more than with a hand gun. I think better gun controls can be put in by the states. Nevada would be one place to start. You register this and you register that, but they don’t register a gun? If they would have had something of a law, a gun card, records of how many guns you buy and a signal after too many, questions on why. If that had been in place, the Vegas shooting wouldn’t have been able to get 43 guns or at least be on a watch list and questioned about them. Who buys 43 guns for personal use? They want to talk to the girlfriend to see if she knew about those guns and if so, why didn’t she report it. No gun law there but yet you need to report it?
That doesn’t make sense either. But then again, it’s reporting his mental status at the time. I’m starting to talk in riddles I think. On the other hand, California has strict gun laws and also had 3 of the major shootings. Illinois has strict gun laws with so many shootings by gang bangers but if we had better legislation on what happens when you are caught with an illegal gun, that may have cut it down some. Of course if the city would work on creating more jobs that would be another answer. There is going to be a big fight going on in Congress over this and all I can say is, I’m glad I am not a part of Congress. How about a gun law that in all states you need to register your gun and have a gun card?

“It would be highly unlikely for her to know absolutely nothing about what was going on, but we’ll see.”, You would think. But then at the hotel, the maid had been in and out of that room and didn’t see a thing. He could have had a hiding place at home or kept them stashed somewhere else where she wouldn’t have seen anything. It’s going to be interesting. I would think it funny if I lived with him and he pushed me to go to the Philippines and then sent me $100,000.

“Plus, there’s some report of this weird, mystery woman in the crowd warning people they were going to die.” I read that but then what I read it was one person telling them about what she said. I didn’t take it serious at that time. Then later I read it was several people that reported it and I was thinking did she know him, was she involved or was she a physic? That whole thing was strange.

Thanks for the donation chart. Pritzker,,,UGH!!! We could end up with a Pritzker for Governor here. Soros & Bloomberg, no surprise. Of course they want something. Bloomberg even buts in with Chicago and the soda tax. They want everything they way. The government is the puppet and they are the puppet masters.

“I don’t know why the bee was so driven… ????” , It was a female bee and she was just looking for a “honey”.

I’m going to bed. You have a good night and talk later. ????

          • David Watts

“How about a gun law that in all states you need to register your gun and have a gun card?” I like this. Part of the problem is the variance of laws from state to state (and not just guns.) I like State’s Rights for many things, but maybe guns should be more standardized, state-to-state. Plus, what you said about making the laws harsher for owning illegal gun was great, as was the suggestion about jobs. These are all real and practicable things, where getting rid of the 2nd Amendment, or confiscating everybody’s rifles, isn’t.

” I’m glad I am not a part of Congress.” Me too. Imagine this: you’re an altruistic person who genuinely wants to make things better for the largest amount of people, you run for Congress: then you are elected and arrive. And are stymied and blocked on every single thing you want to do, are constantly assailed by lobbyists to do things you don’t want to do, harassed by the party to join bloc voting groups voting for things you don’t approve of “for the party” etc. Plus the media on your tail waiting for a gaffe. That’s why we get the lousy candidates we do, you’d have to REALLY want it, in an unhealthy way…

“the maid had been in and out of that room and didn’t see a thing.” The conspiracy theories are abounding (as always when people can’t comprehend a horror.) He was just a tourist who was set up, killed, and the guns planted. The gunfire was also seen coming from the 4th floor. The ‘mystery’ woman prophesying doom in the audience. I wonder if any of these will pan out? If the guy also had explosives at his home, I think he’s the one, and these theories are just theories… but there’s some odd details. There always are.

“The government is the puppet and they are the puppet masters.” So true. I can’t imagine having so much spare money that I could donate MILLIONS just to tamper with legislation. And don’t tell me they don’t tamper. Then again, i must be a big wheel: I just got TWO fundraising emails, one from Trump and one from Pence.????

“”I don’t know why the bee was so driven… ????” , It was a female bee and she was just looking for a “honey”. hee hee… ????????

Take care, and have good day… 🙂

          • January

“Part of the problem is the variance of laws from state to state (and not just guns.)”, that to me is a big problem. In my state, you need that FOID card to buy a gun, it’s illegal to buy a gun outside of the state and so on. I know Cali is #1 is strictness for gun laws, and we are #9. It would be nice if all states were on the same program with requirements. This nut job in Las Vegas, I was reading he went to four states to buy all these guns. Like you said, “standardize the laws”, if they had been, just maybe, he could have been stopped. Don’t know and we won’t know now, that’s for sure. What I am sure of is, people are going to say that they are taking all our guns away, which isn’t true and Congress is going to start a big fight back and forth. There is a big issue in this country, if you ban all the guns, somebody who wants to kill, will kill. If they want to kill a large amount of people, no gun, then they’ll start using explosives and/or trucks to plow them down. Here’s something they don’t talk about.
“On May 18, 1927, Andrew Kehoe, in Bath Township, Michigan, which killed 38 elementary schoolchildren and 6 adults and injured at least 58 other people.” He also killed his wife and blew up his farm, then detonated another devise in his truck, committed suicide.

“”the maid had been in and out of that room and didn’t see a thing.”, that wasn’t a conspiracy. The police/FBI had said that. They were speculating that, because the maids hadn’t seen anything, he had kept them stored in those 10 suitcases. The other one are just crazy.
“He was just a tourist who was set up, killed, and the guns planted.”, Yeah, a tourist who went to 4 states & bought all the guns that were planted, after somebody shot them from the 4th floor, even though, from the 4th floor they wouldn’t have gotten the full view of the concert, nor were any windows broken out.

“The ‘mystery’ woman prophesying doom in the audience.” Was there really a mystery woman? A witness, right after the shooting says that, then the people that were around her agreed that is happened. People were so upset and not in their right minds at the time and possible hearing that comment, made it real in the other peoples minds. I wonder if the one person who said that about the women just wanted the attention at the time??? And the others, hearing it, made it real in their minds??? I still have my doubts that there really was a woman who said “you are all going to die tonight”.

If the guy had all those guns in his home along with what was in the hotel, that’s enough for me. He did it. For the explosives, I think I heard them say that in a news conference but then again maybe I read it in an article. All the news articles are saying they found more guns, explosives and ammunition in the house. I think they will never find out the “why” he did it. I think he was so secretive and insane that he didn’t leave behind anything on the “why”. He had this too planned out. Going to four states to buy the stuff, packing them in 10 suitcases, getting the hotel room way up for the perfect view of the concert, setting up cameras to show him when the swat team was coming. He had already planned on committing suicide and decided before he did it, to take out as many people as he could. But “Why”?? I’m afraid we will never know. The one thing he succeeded in doing, is showing other mass shooters how to do it “worse”. The FBI was saying that now snipers will start taking this higher places because they can get more people.

Then you have ISIS coming in on it and claiming he was one of their’s. Give me a break. They know they are starting to fail and just grabbing at straws. If the FBI and police had kept their mouths shut on that one, then ISIS wouldn’t have gotten any acknowledgment and attention that they were seeking.

“I can’t imagine having so much spare money that I could donate MILLIONS just to tamper with legislation. And don’t tell me they don’t tamper.” What I would give for just one day to have the amount of money to buy what I wanted, to help others, to put a limited amount in a savings that would get me through the rest of my life. Yeah, just let me have 5% of the highest number they have donated, I’d be happy. You know they tamper with Legislation, they are called the elites.

“I just got TWO fundraising emails, one from Trump and one from Pence.????”, Is there something you are really saying??? To be honest, it’s starting to make them sound a little desperate with all these emails. A few months ago I was getting the emails but but them over to “junk” and don’t see them anymore. Every two days, I open up “junk” and just hit “delete all” and don’t pay attention to what is in there. A couple weeks ago, one came on to Facebook with a survey asking “How Trump was doing and would I vote for him again”, I opened it up, said he was doing a lousy job and “no” I wouldn’t vote for him again. Then it flipped to another screen asking for a donation. Seriously, I just checked the “no” box and you still want my money. ???? Hopefully they leave me alone for a couple years. In 2016, after all the emails for donations, all the mail and all the stuff on Facebook on donations, it’s called, give me at least two years from all of this.

You liked that bee comment. As soon as I read what you wrote, I heard a buzzzzzz in my mind. ????

Good news, no sign of stink bugs outside or inside. Of course I put a sign out again letting them know that my neighbor has vacancy and an arrow pointing in his direction. ➡️???? ????????

            Have a good day

“”On May 18, 1927” So, it’s not really a modern problem… interesting. As far as the conspiracy theories go, you know I’m the last person to believe in one, I was just telling you what people are saying. I don’t think there was anyone but Paddock. There’s a lot of pictures circulating now of him in a pink “meow” hat at an Anti-trump rally. I wonder if they’re real?

“I still have my doubts that there really was a woman who said “you are all going to die tonight” Yeah, me too — probably just someone in shock talking about what they thought they heard.

“The FBI was saying that now snipers will start taking this higher places because they can get more people.” I dunno. There was Charles Whitman, the Texas Tower shooter. It didn’t lead to a lot of copycat crimes. This might, I’m not sure, but it’s not the first ‘high-rise’ mass murder/shooting. Luckily for the world, few are willing or interested in such crimes. The few loons who are, as you said, will find a way. I mean, McVeigh used fertilizer.

“Then you have ISIS coming in on it and claiming he was one of their’s. Give me a break. ” They were just feeling left out. “A bunch of people in the U.S. got killed? And we weren’t in on it? No way!”

“To be honest, it’s starting to make them sound a little desperate with all these emails.” Very much so, I’m gonna have to unsubscribe. Yet, not all the emails I get from “Trump” are fundraising. I got one today that was just a statement about the shooting and how we might want to pray for the victims and their families. No begging for $$$ this time… that was ok.

            Take care, talk later… 🙂

          • January

“So, it’s not really a modern problem… interesting.”, No it isn’t. Not as bad as the one I told you about but a lot of them. I’m copying over a link of the list going back to 1700s. But nobody talks about the Bath, MI one with the explosives.

            k12academics(dot)com/school-shootings/history-school-shootings-united-states#.WdWdy2hSyUk

“As far as the conspiracy theories go, you know I’m the last person to believe in one, I was just telling you what people are saying.”, I know, I was showing reasonable logic that they are missing. It’s still going on. A lot of them are still saying the girlfriend was the one who said “You all are going to die tonight”, no matter how many times they are told she was in the Philippines two weeks before he did what he did. I guess they can only float their boats with conspiracies.

The girl that was suppose to have said that, they were passing around a YouTube video, but you couldn’t hear what she was saying. There were others standing around her and she was talking to the news media. I think she made it up.

I think it was David Muir I was listening to tonight and the authorities had said there was another small concert that he originally was going to attack and then moved on the Las Vegas. I think they came to that conclusion because of the hotel room he rented at the time of that concert. Not sure if it was in Reno, but sounded like it wasn’t Las Vegas.

Just now on our local news, ABC Chicago, Chuck Goudy our investigative reporter, is saying that they found a note he left but it’s not a suicide note but are not saying what it is. ALSO, he was seen with another “mystery” woman a couple days up to the shooting. Maybe it’s true about the girl saying “You’re all going to die tonight”. They are now saying they believe he may have had some help but don’t know who. If it was that girl, at least the one who gave the news reporter that comment, can give them a description of her, or maybe she already has and they are not talking. Also, he said that they are saying something about, he did have an escape route to get away after the shooting, then something about his automobile filled with explosives, maybe to be used to be set off and give him time to get away. His Philippine girlfriend is totally innocent. He bought her a ticket and told her to go visit her family, two weeks before the shooting and the money he sent, he told her to buy her family and herself a house. She thought he was breaking up with her. I feel sorry for the girlfriend because there are going to be people who will still blame her. At least they are coming up with some things. This insane nut job had thought he was going to get away with it. If he had stopped shooting a couple minutes before he really did, he just may have gotten away. At this point, could ISIS have really been involved? Nothing would surprise me anymore on this one. I do like Chuck Goudy. He gets into a lot of stuff with his investigations. You should have heard him one time when he went after Mayor Emanuel. That gave me a good laugh.

“I mean, McVeigh used fertilizer.”, the gun doesn’t kill. The maniac behind the gun kills. Explosive materials don’t kill, it’s again, the maniac that builds the explosive and sets it off, that kills.

I still get Trump mailings. I just throw them in the garbage can as I walk by it from my mailbox. Not as bad as you get. I checked my “junk” email, I think I had about 5 days worth in it, nothing from Trump. They must have removed my name. lol

Well I’m going to bed. You have a good night and talk later.

          • David Watts

“I guess they can only float their boats with conspiracies.” MY theory is it’s a coping mechanism: it must be a conspiracy because evil at this level can’t be real. Well… it can. I doubt that ISIS was really involved, unless the girlfriend is Muslim and radicalized Paddock somehow. It’s also being said he had Antifa literature around the room, and pictures have surfaced of a guy at an anti-Trump rally wearing a *meow* hat that is supposedly him. I can’t tell.

Alex Jones had crazy Laura Loomer on, saying that the MSM are lying, that Paddock rented his room days earlier than they’re saying, and he had guests in the room, where they are saying he didn’t. Of course, Jones’ stock-in-trade is conspiracies, that’s the main fuel for his show. Still, you have to wonder what will come out, if anything, if there really is anything to come out.

No news is good news, not much going on today — yet. Later!

          • January

“MY theory is it’s a coping mechanism:”, I think a lot of that is true but I also think there are those that just thrive on conspiracies, makes it more interesting.” I saw the pictures of the guy with the “meow” hat, It looks a little like him but is it really him?” Somebody may have just found a picture that looked similar and put it out there. The Antifa stuff I don’t believe, just stuff to add to it.

He did seem to have planned hitting a concert thought. In Chicago, he booked two rooms at the Blackstone Hotel overlooking Grant Park. One room was booked for Aug. 1 – Aug 6 and the other was booked for Aug. 3 – Aug. 6 (which were the days of our Lollapalooza in Grant Park). They said he specifically asked for rooms looking over the park but nobody by his name checked in. The Chicago Police and Feds are still working on this one. He didn’t check in but they not talking if somebody else was given those rooms. If so, I’m sure they are checking whoever out and probably will be nothing.
Then in Las Vegas, a weekend before the shooting, he booked a room in a different hotel, when the Life Is Beautiful Festival was going on. The police think he “may” have been targeting that one.

They are saying they want to find the woman he was seen with the last days before the shooting. The day of the shooting he was in the casino for a straight 8 hours. Was she with him? Was she the woman that supposedly said, “You all are going to die tonight”? They are starting to believe he had somebody help him move all those guns. You mentioned about Laura Loomer saying he had guests in his room: I have to laugh on that one. Hey maybe she’s the woman they are looking for, since she knows so much. lol For three days he had the “do not disturb” sign out, so nobody really knows that but I wonder if this woman could have been up there. Who would know? I say nobody. Then you have the note they found. I’m nosy, I want to know what it said. I really doubt they will ever know “why” he did it. I have this investigative mind and always have to take the police facts and try to get the answer to the “why”. It’s really hard when I can’t have the “why”. I think I need to go read a Lisa Jackson book now, at least I’ll get the why from her on her stories.

            Talk later.

          • David Watts

OK, MILO News erased my reply cos I had a link to a video in it… ugh. It was a Lauren Southern video about politicizing mass shootings. You might want to look it up under: “Politicizing Tragedy.”

Yes, I think it’s human nature to want to know “Why”, I just have difficulty getting into the mindset of someone like Paddock. Do I even want to? I did see where he had booked rooms over Lollapalooza and other open-air events… ugh.

“I have this investigative mind and always have to take the police facts and try to get the answer to the “why”. ” All I can say to that is: ????️‍♀️ lol.

Instead of a begging letter from Trump or Pence today, I got a weird email from MILO: Buzzfeed hacked his email acct. and got three years worth of emails off of him. Plus, they found some old footage of MILO singing karaoke in some club and people in the audience “sieg heil”ing him. He claims that Buzzfeed will use this to portray him as a Nazi (and they will.) Like he can control what people in the audience do! Very weird. The continued attempt to torpedo MILO shows that someone is afraid of him… but the torpedo attacks are always so weak and baseless.

Well, now I forgot half of what I wrote before it got rejected… ecch. Sorry bout that. More later… 🙂

          • January

“OK, MILO News erased my reply cos I had a link to a video in it”, I’ve never been able to post a video, no matter what I do to doctor the link. When I’m posting other links, I always copy what I wrote, just in case, and it’s saved me a few times. Anytime they put a comment on hold, I’ve never seen it get published but always deleted. I think it’s Disqus that does it.

As for Paddock; he was a psychopath, whether they find he had a brain malfunction or terminal something. I think he always has been a psychopath, just like his dad. I believe he checked out Chicago and Boston to see how the hotels were. The police are saying they believe he thought he would escape and the care filled with explosives, they think he was going to blow up something with that. The Blackstone is a much older building with a smaller lobby. You just about pass the front desk to get to the elevators. He would have run the risk of being spotted bringing in all that luggage with the guns in it. A lot of these places had also put in metal detectors. If he wanted to get out and away, there aren’t a lot of elevators there either like the Mandalay would have. What I find interesting is, his dad was born in Michigan but the family moved to Chicago when he was 3, and this is where is started his life of crime for almost 20 years. I’m willing to bet, the psychopath thought he was going to commit the crime of the century and get by with it. I’m glad he is dead but hate that his name will go down in history with all the rest. To bad, they didn’t assign these people a number and lose the name. #1234, killed this many people, here, by, and then the story and no mention of his name. A psychologist once said, these psychopaths know their name will live on and to them they think it’s being glorified, and don’t understand that it doesn’t live on for the good. I remember when I was studying psychology, we had a big discussion on that. I’m done with him. The guy is dead and nobody will mourn him.

Did you hear about Trump’s comments, when a photo shoot was done with him and the military? “You guys know what this represents?” Trump asked reporters as he pointed around the room. “It’s the calm before the storm.” “We have the world’s greatest military people,” When the reporter asked what he meant, he replied “You’ll find out”. I think he is planning something with North Korea.

“I got a weird email from MILO: Buzzfeed hacked his email acct. and got three years worth of emails off of him.” Milo had posted something about that on his site. They are going to do anything they can to stop him. He is their target today.

Did you look at the link I posted about the school shooting?

            Talk later.

          • David Watts

“I always copy what I wrote, just in case, and it’s saved me a few times.” Sometimes, I remember to do this. Other times, I boo-boo… lol.

“I think he always has been a psychopath, just like his dad.” Best theory I’ve heard yet. ISIS is *still* trying to claim Paddock as one of their own. They have an Arabic name for him and everything. They seem very adamant. Maybe the note he left sheds light on this; everyone is staying very close-mouthed on the details. My feeling is: psycho, not ISIS. Though one does not rule out the other — rather the opposite is true! I agree that publicizing killer’s names plays into their delusions of glory, and shouldn’t be indulged more than is necessary. In baseball games, when some fan jumps out of the stands and runs onto the field, they no longer show him/her running around like a loon, they go to a very far-away wide shot of the field where the people are just dots… so, if they’re doing it to get on TV, they fail. The same should apply to mass-murderers or serial killers, but even moreso. #456,876…

“I’m done with him. The guy is dead and nobody will mourn him.” True, there’s not much you can say at this point. Sadly, these crimes are common enough that it’s all been said. The Right mourn, pray, and try to understand. The Left goes for a gun grab. It’s predictable. I don’t want a surveillance society, but people should pay more attention to one another, just for prevention’s sake. If someone seems a bout to go off and is stockpiling weapons/explosives, do something. I don’t have to tell you.

I did read the article on school shootings: very depressing. I don’t know what it all means, though, except that nothing is new. The *severity* of crimes and the numbers of dead seem to have gone up since Columbine, although the rate of incidents fluctuates wildly, so some years, there’s no shootings, other years, a strangely high amount (though one is too many.) What does your detective mind make of it all? ????️‍♀️

“Did you hear about Trump’s comments” No, I hadn’t! Thanks for telling me about that — i agree with you: he’s planning a move, and who else would it be on but jolly KJU and the already beat-down people of NK? Trump already made it clear by his Tillerson remarks that he doesn’t want to pursue diplomacy (and I personally don’t feel that was working, anyway.) Hang onto your hat (or nearest doggo.)

“They are going to do anything they can to stop him. He is their target today.” Yeah MILO’s “confidential” email was the same as the article he put up here later. Buzzfeed seem like a bunch of desperate numbnuts, but I am biased, lol.

            have a good day, talk later… 🙂

          • January

I’ve boo booed, even when I copied it. a Couple times I had to hit reply 3 times and copy it over, then fix my link before posting. I’d then go back to the originals posting(s), edit, delete it all out and key in 3 periods only. Since it’s being held you can’t delete it. darn it.

The note: They are saying it’s a list of cryptic numbers but can’t figure it out. The thing with ISIS, I’m 99% thinking it wasn’t ISIS but have that 1%, could it have been? I doubt it but stranger things have happened. My thinking with ISIS is they aren’t as strong as they were before and now want to take credit for everything in order to cause terror. Now, that goes into my other theory, ISIS hasn’t come over here like other places, why? Because we are gun crazy nation and probably scare the crap out them. lol All the other countries, guns are pretty much banned. That’s another group of loonies.

There’s an FBI agent that comes on ABC World News and Good Morning America when this stuff happens. He’s really interesting to listen to. He pretty much says, the crazies, when they decide to do something, they also want to outdo the last crazy, you know, glory in history when they are dead. When the Aurora shooting happened, he told the them to quit talking so much about the gun man and focus more on the victims because other crazies here it and then they try to outdo the last one. All those school shootings done by the kids, I think it’s more about bullying and they just snap.

You know the kid that did the shooting at Sandy Hook, his was mental. They had interviewed people in the town and all of them said his mother told them she had problems with him and he had a mental disorder. Did you know this? The mother was a nut job, she stock piled all sorts of guns along with AKAs because she felt a revolution was coming. She took her mental son target practicing and taught him how to shoot all the guns so they could protect themselves when the time came. That came from all the town people also. At night, she would lock her bedroom door because she was afraid of him. The kid changed his clothes several times a day and she would have to wash the clothes he took off right away or he would throw a fit. I think it was 2020 that did a thing on it. I was shocked that she would teach her mental son, who she admitted to being afraid of, how to shoot guns. You don’t hear much about that because it would ruin the narrative of “bad” gun shoot people.

Here’s a conspiracy going around or just an out and out lie. Paddock bought a plane from a contributor, something like that, of Obama’s.

Trump’s comments are all over the news now. I hope he is all talk but there is something about Trump when he give these type of hints. Look at the rally he gave and claimed he wouldn’t say, yes or no, about Sheriff Joe Arpaio. He said up there a couple times that Arpaio would be ok and gave a couple hints on that. I really hope he isn’t going to get us into a war. We’ve had enough of those.

Speaking of Tillerson, now there’s a rumor that he is leaving soon and being replaced with CIA Chief Mike Pompeo. Hmmmmmm, Friday the 13th is coming, wonder if Tillerson resigns on that day. lol Maybe that’s not funny. To be honest with you, I believe Tillerson did call him a moron and was told to back peddle it.

Looks like the soda tax will be going away. I think it’s next week the City Council does their vote and the majority of them want it to go away. They told what’s her name to get the money elsewhere, like stop the remodeling of the city and put the money to use where it is needed. Didn’t I say that awhile back? Mike Madigan must have people listening. Of course they are a little worried for their jobs, as they should be. Law suits are happening.

Have to get going. Talk later.

“My thinking with ISIS is they aren’t as strong as they were before and now want to take credit for everything in order to cause terror.” That seems most likely of the different scenarios. They want to seem big, bad, and threatening, and also look as if they are gaining power, when they may in fact be losing it.

“why? Because we are gun crazy nation and probably scare the crap out them. lol ” Seeming like crazy, callous maniacs waving guns all over the place *is* a great deterrent, I think you’re right. The downside is — other countries see us as insane. Maybe it’s a worthwhile trade-off to be seen that way if it keeps foreign attacks down: “those guys are nuts: we don’t know HOW they will react!” Hence DJT’s rhetoric with NK: if he thinks we’re nutty enough to bomb his country back to the stone age, he might think twice before lobbing missiles to and fro.

“All the other countries, guns are pretty much banned. ” And you see that being taken advantage of all over Western Europe… the radical Islamics know they have an edge if they are armed.

“Did you know this? The mother was a nut job, she stock piled all sorts of guns along with AKAs because she felt a revolution was coming. ” No, I didn’t know… like Mom, like son, eh? And she worked at the school, didn’t she? Well, she’s not gonna report her own son, or even notice warning signs if she is also bonkers…?

“I really hope he isn’t going to get us into a war. We’ve had enough of those.” It should be last resort, not a go-to option. If KJU is putting the U.S. or others in jeopardy, it *might* be justified. No other reason will do, least of all DJT wanting to show ‘strength’ and play with military toys. Soldiers aren’t toys, fool… I hope he knows this.

“Tillerson did call him a moron” Yeah he did! lol. His frustration is palpable… maybe Trump will forgive him, but that would be out of character.

” Didn’t I say that awhile back? Mike Madigan must have people listening.” Madigan secretly probably likes the tax, but he feels he has to throw the voters a bone now and then… like when elections are nigh. So, now, he’s “looking out for you” and trying to stop it. Speaking of our beloved local officials, Gov. Moon-High-Beans just signed his ‘sanctuary state’ bill with Becarra beaming on… ugh. Can’t we just throw them all in the hoosegow? I mean, give me a break…

            More later, good night. ????????✨

          • January

Sorry, I had little guy early this morning until now.

“Hence DJT’s rhetoric with NK: if he thinks we’re nutty enough to bomb his country back to the stone age, he might think twice before lobbing missiles to and fro.”. That’s true for any other leader but I don’t think KJU is really thinking about that. It’s more about saving face for him with his people and we have DJT making all these threats like we are coming for him, which could just push him to make the first move, and I think that is what DJT is trying to do. That could backfire big time. If KJU sends a couple towards Japan and South Korea, they are saying 4 million people would die. It would be like Japan all over again. Trump has a big ego and his comments that he would succeed in doing what Clinton, Bush & Obama couldn’t. KJU is suppose to have around 23 nukes, sure we can stop most of them but one or two slip past and you have a major issue then. I wish he would shut up and stop all the name calling.

Here’s a couple new tweets from 2 hours ago. “Presidents and their administrations have been talking to North Korea for 25 years, agreements made and massive amounts of money paid……”, “..hasn’t worked, agreements violated before the ink was dry, makings fools of U.S. negotiators.” Sorry, but only one thing will work!” North Korea has been pretty quiet for awhile now, he is just antagonizing them right now. I wonder if somebody told Trump that being President is not a reality show and he can’t just tell KJU, “You’re Fired”.

“maybe Trump will forgive him, but that would be out of character.” You better believe it would be. Bet Tillerson will resign sometime this month. Remember, he wasn’t just called a moron but an F***king moron. lol I call that an oops, shouldn’t have said that.

“Madigan secretly probably likes the tax, but he feels he has to throw the voters a bone now and then”, you’re right, especially since he is up for re-election next year and the people in this state are blaming him, along with the Governor for our budget crisis. Then, because of him, our taxes get raised and he was responsible for “no relief” in our property taxes. So he wants to be re-elected but also needs his buddies, his yes men, re-elected. He can’t afford to lose them. If there are more Republicans in the House than Democrats, he loses his Speaker of the House position. I think the 2016 election showed him, anything can happen.

The last three days was cool but today was like a warm summer day with some humidity and guess what showed up again? Three days, not one stink bug, today vacuumed up 4 in the house and my son and I sprayed about 9 or 10 outside. Of course I have all the woods by me and that’s where they hang out. Austin thought it was funny when I would vacuum them up.

Have to go and get something done around here. Talk Later.

          • David Watts

No need to apologize: I can’t always reply as soon as I’d like to, also. 🙂

“It’s more about saving face for him with his people and we have DJT making all these threats like we are coming for him, which could just push him to make the first move” Ugh. Sadly, I think you’re right. DJT’s most recent comments are pretty obvious, when he talks about “only one thing.” That is the sort of rhetoric that could kick off KJU, not to mention scare a lot of innocent people.

“North Korea has been pretty quiet for awhile now, he is just antagonizing them right now.” I’m thinking DJT gets fixated on one thing, and won’t let it go, even though NK HAS been quiet lately, and he should let that dog lie.

Speaking of The Don, here’s a Melania meme I thought you might like:

            https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7c796eca70815e250077bd69db2d288fba488f5bc2e438a95f92eceb679031aa.jpg

“he is up for re-election next year and the people in this state are blaming [Madigan], along with the Governor for our budget crisis.” Exactly. Now would not be the time to be seen supporting a hugely unpopular soda tax, even if normally he has no problem with higher taxes for all. Machine politics is all about judging what’s popular, and which way the wind is blowing… so one may stay entrenched for ever and ever, world without end. 😉

“guess what showed up again?” Buggers are very sensitive to weather changes; it makes them go on the warpath. Just spray away, maybe they’ll catch a clue that that isn’t their house…

feeling a bit slow today, more later… 🙂

          • January

Good Morning. I crashed early, and I mean early.

“That is the sort of rhetoric that could kick off KJU, not to mention scare a lot of innocent people.” Have you noticed the KJU has been very quiet lately? That’s what bothers me about all of these little “hints” that Trump keeps putting out. KJU isn’t responding with anything. Is DJT trying to rile him up again? Or is KJU planning on something? Or is KJU trying to ignore DJT because he knows he’s trying to get him to do something that he only was threatening to do just to impress his own people? Or he is just sitting back waiting for DJT to be the first to do something? Which would be KJU’s smart move because then, just maybe DJT will knock it off. The two tweets I copied over for you, DJT was asked about that and he responded with “You’ll know soon”. Why all these type of comments? I guess in time, we’ll know because right now, I can’t figure out either one of them.

“Speaking of The Don, here’s a Melania meme I thought you might like:” All I can say about those two pics is: I hope the one in her “pink” cap realizes, she is the embarrassment to women. One classy and one actually looks like a slob.

They are still running the soda tax ads but it’s pretty much a dead issue. I think it is this week the vote is being done and they are saying it’s a dead issue. I think they said once it’s defeated that they’ll allow it for 6 or 10 weeks so merchants can get their systems changed again.

No other news going on other than, DJT is now attacking NBC. That should be about a weeks worth of tweets. Oh, and going after Jimmy Kimmel, I like Jimmy, he does do a lot of jokes on Trump but the guy is funny. He does a drunk Donald Trump one, almost every night now, plays back one of his speeches very slow and it sounds the DJT is drunk. I shouldn’t laugh but it’s funny. I did watch a couple of Saturday Night Live shows with Alec Baldwin playing Trump. He was funny and if Trump would have just ignored it, it wouldn’t have lasted. But the more he came out and blasted Baldwin, the more material he gave him. The only late night comedian I can’t stand and won’t watch is Stephen Colbert. I’ve never liked him.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Talk later.

Sleep is good — I could do with more of it! lol

Here’s a new article about KJU, but it’s pretty thin on info (It’s from MSN, which might be part of the problem):

            msn(dot)com/en-au/news/world/kim-jong-un-praises-nuclear-programme-promotes-sister-to-centre-of-power/ar-AAt4dy3

I would like it if he made up his mind. Either he is a big and bold aggressor, or, as an old reggae song once said, “All We Doin’ Is Defendin’.” Claiming, this late in the game, that NK’s nukes are only a ‘deterrent against nuclear attacks by the U.S.” is a bit rich. I’m sure the Japanese wouldn’t agree: what’s defensive about lobbing missiles over Hokkaido? Poor, put upon lil KJU. Some say he’s promoting his sister to a high government position so he can exit stealthily in the night and simply disappear. She is part of the ‘royal family,’ the only people allowed to rule in NK, so maybe that is Kim’s plan.

Supposedly there is a new halloween costume available called “Model Wife Costume,” and it’s based on a Melania outfit, lol. I think she’s mostly popular with everyone, even if Donnie isn’t. My brother is in town from Canada, and I had lunch with him yesterday. He went on and one about the “orange madman” and the nobility and incredible talent of Colin Kaepernick. I just nodded and smiled… ugh. This too, will pass.

“they are saying it’s a dead issue.” Good! These sort of taxes are far harder on the poor than anyone else. And taxing from the bottom up seems counter-intuitive, and slightly mean-spirited too.

Late Nite Blues: Kimmel — I really liked him when he first came on the scene (beardless!). He was co-host on a funny old game show called “Win Ben Stein’s Money,” and Kimmel was hilarious in a deadpan way. I don’t know what happened — liberalism is contagious in Hollywood, definitely. SNL: I was the biggest fan ever, but they had a huge mass exodus of both actors and writers about 4 years ago, and I think it’s been very poor since — the new blood isn’t very good, IMO. And I loathe Kate McKinnon. So, I will have to take your word on that one! And I agree 10000000% on Colbert. Just the sight of him makes me slightly angry, lol. What a smarmy, unfunny, punk. Conan seems to have lost his sense of humor too. SAD.

            I miss the old humorists…

“The man who indulges in strong drink lives in a dream… he thinks the whole world revolves around him — and it usually does.” – W.C. Fields

          • January

Warning ????????????: You probably are just going to smile and nod as you read my rant below. Please give you opinion because it’s important to have both sides.

“Some say he’s promoting his sister to a high government position so he can exit stealthily in the night and simply disappear.” She’s replacing the aunt. I copied over a couple comments I found on it. “Her new position indicates the 28-year-old has become a replacement for Kim Jong Un’s aunt, Kim Kyong Hui, who had been a key decision maker when former leader Kim Jong Il was alive.” ““Kim Jong Un is extending his father and grandfather’s practice of empowering family members.” I suspect the aunt may have held him back on things and now that Trump is threatening, some sort of action, whether real or his being a smart butt, KJU put his sister in place to make him more powerful and get to do what he wants. There were 3 others promoted that are pro for the banned nuclear weapons. To me it sounds like North Korea is putting people in place that will support anything KJU wants to do. He’s not leaving.

KJU has been testing those missiles but then we have Trump giving these crazy threats, that everybody is asking, are we going after KJU or not. We know Trump can say things at times, just to sound important. KJU doesn’t know that. When he hears this stuff, how serious is he taking it and thinking Trump is coming for him? Trumps comment that he’s made a few times about three Presidents couldn’t get it down but he will. What does that say to the world? Trumps ego on this, IMO, is off the charts and if he doesn’t shut up, we will go to war. I hope these two idiot leaders realize a lot of people are going to die. Sure we can shoot down some of the missiles, but that doesn’t mean we don’t miss one or two. A part of me doesn’t think KJU is going to send one to the US BUT to Japan, South Korea and/or Guam, where we have a lot of military presence there along with US Citizens, around 4 million or more will die. (break)

The reason I don’t think he’ll send any here is, if he does, the silos will open up (and I’m not talking the silos on farms that are filled with grain), and it’s all over for his country and actually South Korea. I believe Trump would push the button that he talked about a few times when he campaigned. The crazy thing is, and he knows it, he doesn’t need Congress’s approval to start things BUT he has 60 days from the time he takes action, to present it to Congress or pull all the troops.

“He went on and on about the “orange madman” and the nobility and incredible talent of Colin Kaepernick.”, I’m laughing at thinking of your just smiling and nodding your head. Sorry my friend, but you should be happy I wasn’t there. Your brother and I would have a very deep discussion on the “orange man”, I would give some pros and some cons. I’m sorry David, but right now I’m walking down that middle line when it comes to Trump. As for “the nobility and incredible talent of Colin Kaepernick”, when I got down with that, your poor brother would probably be just smiling and nodding and praying to get out of there. It’s not about his kneeling. That guy is nothing but a spoiled little jerk, who is a worthless football player and has a, almost Antifa, girlfriend who turned him because he is also a spineless, little twit.

I have to stay away from twitter for awhile because Trump really ticked me off today. His lie about Senator Corker and why he was resigning. He bold “twitterfaced” lied about Corker begging him to support him in his re-election and how he told him he wouldn’t. He said Corker begged that he couldn’t win unless DJT supported him. Not true. Corker had said awhile back that he couldn’t see himself doing more than two terms. Trump is going after Corker for a few things, the fights they had over the summer and the fact that Corker is against Trump’s tax reform because it’s not taking the “deficit” into mind. We are now a little over $20 Trillion in debt, Obama came just under $20 Trillion. Supposedly there was an argument between Trump and Corker over this, and of course, Corker has been very outspoken about the deficit, that now it’s Corker bashing time. I’m tired of the fact that if somebody doesn’t feed Trumps ego, he will bash them over and over again and lie about it when he does. Now Trump is, once again, turning to Schumer for help on the ACA. Why isn’t he trying to sit down with the Republicans and inviting a few Democrats, like Schumer in on it? Then he goes on and brags how he’s going to win in 2020. Not with a 32% approval rating he won’t. There are much more important issues that he needs to pay attention to and quit all the people and news media bashing. I’m just not going out to Twitter. Sorry for the rant.

I loved the things you would hear about W.C. Fields. What a character he was. There were a lot of good comedians that are no longer here. Sad There are two that I honestly cannot stand and wouldn’t give them the time of day, Colbert and Griffin. I never like Kathy Griffin, she is not a comedian, she is a bully, period. Neither one is funny.

Ok, now you can make your great escape from my ranting. Poor guy. First your brother and now me. I’d give you a laughing emoji but I feel sorry for you right now.

            Have a good night.

          • David Watts

I would’ve replied sooner, but I was at a long memorial service, I’m just now getting online…

“KJU put his sister in place to make him more powerful and get to do what he wants.” Oh, I see what you mean, It’s not about a replacement, more about consolidating his position with pro-nuclear appointees.

“I believe Trump would push the button that he talked about a few times when he campaigned. ” See, I have no clue here: I wish I did. Trump is a bit of a mystery there. That’s what happens when you vote in “outsiders,” they have no prior voting record we can look at to establish a pattern of how they think. With Hillary, you did, and she was obviously VERY pro-war in all cases. She approved the use of cluster bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan, for example, which are incredibly random and imprecise, and kill as many children as combatants. In those days, I was a lot more sympathetic to Hillary, believe it or not, but when she just rubber-stamped every military action that passed her senatorial desk, I got fed up with her. She has beaucoup blood on her hands, and in retrospect, we can see how unproductive those wars have been and continue to be. She wasn’t any better as Secretary of State, in fact: worse. (break)

Trump seems like a wild card in this area to me, maybe to KJU too? As you said before, he’s been unusually quiet, considering how much puff he was puffing around just a week or 2 ago. As the old movies say… “Quiet? TOO quiet!” I also agree that he’d probably try and bomb SK before he’d go after Guam or Japan (or the U.S.) : easier target, historical enemy, etc.

“What does that say to the world?” I think at this point, we can safely say that Trump cares not a whit what anyone thinks of him, inc. other world leaders. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. He’s not running THEIR countries. The only approval DJT should crave is ours. I don’t mean America: I mean you and I. lol…

I know about those silos, there’s an installation in Concord, near here. They are all underground, you can just see the hatches that would open up on top to let the missiles fly… and these suckers are YUGE. Hopefully, they aren’t a target… yikes.

The funny thing about my brother talking about Kaepernick, is that a few years ago, BEFORE Kaep’s ‘protest’ he was as down on him as we are. Said he sucked, had lost what little ability he had, was a moron, any other QB would be better, etc. And I agree with you: it’s not just the kneeling, but all the propaganda and sort of pomposity and self-righteousness we get from the guy. My brother’s a huge 49er’s fan and lives and dies over this stuff. Now the protest is on, Kaep’s the new Rosa Parks, and the fact he doesn’t have a contract is the crime of the century and a moral outrage to every American, or something. It would be funny, but I love my brother and wish he weren’t so indoctrinated. Oh well, he’s a college professor, he’s probably had to take sensitivity courses and everything else, just to keep doing his job. Good grief! I did try and find some chinks in his liberal armor, but I couldn’t, and I’m pretty good at stating my cases, I think. No dice…

“Sorry for the rant.” That’s really all right: your opinions are very informed and therefore not to be dismissed. DJT’s grudge-holding against people who’ve ‘wronged’ him is truly epic… and very petty. Another way to not look ‘presidential,’ which I guess he gave up on, although during Rita Relief in Texas he did seem a bit more noble for a minute. Also, re: his feud with Corker: who voted for Trump in order to get tax reform? He hardly talked about it during the campaign. Who hoped he would reach across the aisle and work with Cryin’ Chuckie and “Brain Freeze” Pelosi? No one.The massive support he got was for none of that, and he needs to keep his eye on the ball. When he has ardent supporters like Ann Coulter bashing him, he’s strayed off course. I certainly can’t blame you for being a lack of confidence in what he’s doing: it’s very unpredictable. If we had the same Trump now as the one who campaigned, you might feel better about him too, but I don’t know what we’ve got here. Everyone I talk to is very frightened over potential war with NK, and he always acts so blasé about it. He must know something we don’t. I hope.

“First your brother and now me.” Really not a problem. At least you’re not some Trudeau wannabe, lol. And we agree about most things, just not the degree of approval, I think. None of us here think Colin K. is the new Gandhi, anyway… lol ????????☮

            good night! 🙂

          • January

Sorry about the funeral. Please don’t worry about it. I’m late starting today myself.

Yes, KJU is making his family power much stronger and that should be a warning to all.

I sure he would go after South Korea but I also think he will go after Guam since it is a US Territory and they are US Citizens there along with a strategic U.S. naval base located on Apra Harbor and make up about 40% of the population there. We have military in SK & Japan but I think the biggest base is Guam. I know KJU has threatened Guam before and to cripple our Navy, that would be the target to do it.

Hillary, I couldn’t stand her when she was 1st Lady. She always seemed to arrogant and better than anybody else. Of course at that time the White Water Scandal was really hitting big time. Then of course, the Monica Lewinski scandal hit and how she acted with that. I was pretty much done with the Clinton’s when a big part of the country turned against Lewinski and, just about hugged Billy Bob. Then of course, Hillary went on her campaign to destroy her even more.

“The only approval DJT should crave is ours. I don’t mean America: I mean you and I. lol.”, you better believe it. lol He does need the approval of the people in our country but he also needs the respect from other World Leaders, even if they don’t like him, respect him for the leader of this country, which they don’t. We need our allies and we really don’t have too many any more because of his mouth. Obama was a weak President but at the same time, the other country leaders respected him. I have a friend that lives in Scotland and she was telling me they are scared over all of this with Trump and NK. The US was once a very powerful nation but we really aren’t anymore since Trump took over. He’s considered a big joke in the UK. (break)

The problem with Trump is his ego. It’s so inflated and he’s always me, me, me. I was reading an article from March and they posted a tweet of Trumps from 2015, this is what it said: “I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite They picked person who is ruining Germany” Instead of congratulating her for getting person of the year, he blaster her because he didn’t get it. He does that now with people and the scary thing is he is President now. I had decided not to vote for him during his debates and things he did with the nasty bad mouthing of the other candidates and the final straw was when he made fun of that crippled reporter. When he won, I tried supporting him but his ego got in the way. The people you talk to have a good reason to worry. Sure he knows something we don’t, he’s planning on trying to do an attack on NK. I believe his reason is: The last three President couldn’t do anything with NK so he’s going to show them that he can. He’s feeding his ego, “Look what I did”. I don’t think he even considers all the people that will die or that he could be setting off a nuclear war. He needs to feed his ego by doing something that nobody else could.

Look how he attack Corker because he isn’t running for re-election. At one time Corker was a support of his and turned, so now he tweets a bunch of lies against him. Today on the news, Corker let lose and said exactly what I have been saying about war. Hmmmmmm maybe I should run for Congress since I said it first. lol NOT!!! Corker had talked about two terms only but I think he may have tried going for the 3rd term but with Trump the way he is, he just wanted out. He had, had enough.

When it comes to Corker, he pretty much voted in favor of Trump’s measures. A few he voted no for, two being states’ over retirement. Trump opposed sanctions on Russia twice, which wasn’t a good move because of what was gong on. Then once on North Korea and Iran in July. I think Trump was angry because Corker wasn’t going to run for re-election again. Those two have had off an on fights but Corker was his big supporter at one time. The Tax Relief Budget, read up on it as much as you can. I’m trying to find an article I read on it. When I do I’ll post it for you.

His reaching across the aisle to Nancy and Chuckie, yes he did that on his own and now screwed them in the deal that they worked out. As much as I don’t like those two, not a good move on Trump’s part. He needs to keep them in his pocket a little. Trump isn’t getting support for Republicans because of his actions and the fact that elections are coming up. Right now his approval rating is 32%.

You continue sticking up for him. Nobody should ever sway you from how you feel, even me. It’s has taken me awhile to write this because I’m so down on him right now, that I have to rewrite things so they didn’t sound totally mean towards him. In other words, I’m very angry with him right now and keep trying to tone it down. Sorry.

Spent the morning with the son and his two sons. He has Monday’s off from Fed X and the two boys have today off because of Columbus Day. So we went out for breakfast. Went to our local pancake parlor that is so decorated for Halloween and they have a section with a counter where a train comes and brings your food out to you. The kids loved it. I want to go tomorrow and get a new phone. I have trouble taking pictures with the one I have. Never had problems with any of the other phones. So, my smart grandson, when he saw I was having a problem taking their pictures says: “Old people don’t know how to use the phone cameras”. I told him if he said that again, I’d knock him off the stool he was sitting on, joking. Little brat just sat there and laughed. He’s a tease like his dad.

I better get going. Like I said, you stick up for Trump. I’m just mad at him. Talk later.

“I know KJU has threatened Guam before and to cripple our Navy, that would be the target to do it.” Guam is certainly within the range of NK’s missiles. That’s one of the (many) problems: a LOT of places are in range, just judging by the ‘tests’ KJU has conducted so far. He might have something even longer-range coming up. Brr…

They just had a poll on Kellyanne Conway’s FB page: “Do you think Pres. Trump should conduct a pre-emptive strike on NK?” I can’t believe they would run a FB poll for that… woo. I don’t know what to think, so I did not vote. For the people who did, it seemed about 50/50 for and against. Speaking of voting, you didn’t vote for Trump, therefore you have no need to defend him. Also, conservative criticism of Trump (like yours) usually is about things he’s said and done. Liberal criticism is more about name calling, talking about how orange he is and his little hands, etc. What that has to do with anything, I don’t know… once again, we are in the land of feelings, not facts there.

“we really don’t have too many any more because of his mouth.” The same thing happened with GW Bush, strangely. He lost us a few allies with his gung-ho attitude. He didn’t have DJT’s ego, though, nor was he as smart. He *was* more predictable though.

“he’s planning on trying to do an attack on NK.” I’m sure you heard DJT’s comment about ‘the calm before the storm.’ And when they asked him what he meant by that, he sort of winked and said, “You’ll see.” This might all be for show, I have no way to read Trump. KJU did refer to him as “President Evil.” If his ego is offended by that, and it’s like you say: he can’t let a slight to the ego pass by, he might actually do something. I’m also wondering if he will fire Tillerson over this. I’d bet he will.

“Those two have had off an on fights but Corker was his big supporter at one time.” Maybe DJT’s anger now stems from that fact? Because his support is so scanty (apparently), that he cannot afford to lose a supporter, so when Corker said he wasn’t going to run again, DJT was personally offended. It may or not have to do with him, there could be many reasons.

“Right now his approval rating is 32%.” I have a hard time believing these polls, although of course this could be so. I just don’t think polls are that accurate lately, and they are very easy to influence one way or another, depending on who’s running the poll and how *they* want the result to come out. Maybe they only polled people in Berkeley, Seattle, and Canada?

“I have to rewrite things so they didn’t sound totally mean towards him.” Well, I appreciate that, then. In the meantime, this may make you laugh:

“a counter where a train comes and brings your food out to you. The kids loved it.” if I were a kid, I would also love that. ???????????????????? In fact, as an adult, I would *still* probably love that. lol

take care, don’t let The Don upset you, talk later…????⚜️

“I can’t believe they would run a FB poll for that… woo.” Believe it. I broke my not going out on Twitter and wasn’t on Trumps twitter but another news article and while reading what people wrote, there was a twitter posting from Donald J Trump/Real Trump (something like that) with the poll. Out there it was 79% no and the yes was 17%. I was shocked when I saw it. I voted no. Why would anybody put something like that out? You know darn well, KJU is going to be told about this survey. To me this is insanity.

Corker: The comment he made about Trump will start a nuclear war. Tonight on David Muir, they talked about and there’s a female reporter in Washington, (can’t remember her name), when she was asked if she asked any of the other Republican Senator’s what they thought, she said a lot of them were on the leave they all take, but some were still there and she asked them if they agreed with Corker. She said they all agreed that Trump is very hard to deal with, has to be handled with kid gloves and is like a time bomb with NK and everybody is trying to manage him the best they can. She said they were nervous over this. People I know are also scared. I truly believe he is going to do something, not if, but when. (break)

You’ve heard all the talk about Pence walking out of the Indiana game the other day because they kneeled. I read an article about it and the question was stated, “Pence knew that the team playing had the biggest kneelers in the NFL and they haven’t stopped kneeling, so why did he go knowing they would kneel?Trump admitted that he told Pence if anybody kneels, walk out. A lot of people believe the who thing was staged, I do to, but it cost the taxpayers something like $220,000. Trump is still blasting NBC over the Tillerson “moron” comment. Most people, when they are upset over something, say their piece and move on. Not continue it over and over again.

A few months back it was reported that KJU said he could hit Alaska with a missile. Hopefully any he shoots off, we can stop and not miss one. No matter where he shoots one and it hits, it’s going to be a deaths and destruction. If that happens, he better not show up to survey the damages or it could turn into a reenactment of JFK. Who knows, some Antifa crazy could show up. Speaking of them, have they been quiet lately?

I think he took Corker’s refusal to run again as a personal thing against him. Who knows, maybe he said Trump was the reason he wasn’t running again. lol They would fight but they would make up. You never really heard about their fights until now. As for Tillerson, either he is going to resign or Trump will get rid of him. I would be very surprised if he wasn’t let go.

“I have a hard time believing these polls, although of course this could be so,”, thanks for the reminder. Last week Trump put one out on Twitter about voting if he ran in 2020. No had 67% and yes had 30%. On Facebook, one was going around and it was about the same. I think yes was 68% and no was 31%. My town is pretty much Republican yet but the people I know that voted for him, they’ve turned against him. Of course are votes pretty much don’t go anywhere, just like your vote in California. It’s guaranteed a Democrat win. lol Lots of “Blue” color. ????????????????????????

“In fact, as an adult, I would *still* probably love that.”, Yeah, me too!!! The boys also had a strawberry smoothie.

I love the Hillary picture. That was funny.

I’m thinking of going to be early tonight. It’s going from 80 today to 62 tomorrow. Then at that end of the weekend back up in the upper 70s. This is October, Crazy weather. You have a good night and talk later.

          • David Watts

By the time I had a chance to write back, it was 1 AM, so I thought I’d better wait… sorry… and good morning. 🙂

“You know darn well, KJU is going to be told about this survey. ” Even if NK citizens don’t have full access to the iNet, you know KJU does. Maybe he TOOK the survey himself! If so, I wonder how he voted? lol. Seriously, I have to laugh even though it’s worrying, it’s just so weird: a poll.

Here’s some new words from Mad Dog:

            redstate(dot)com/streiff/2017/10/09/secretary-mattis-gives-tells-army-ready-deal-north-korea

He’s cagier in his words than DJT, but it still looks like it’s Game On.

” A lot of people believe the who thing was staged, I do too,” and I do too. It seems so pointless, even more so if it cost all that money. Everyone knows by now how Trump feels about the players kneeling during the anthem, and most people would assume Pence feels the same way: why go through this dumbshow masquerade of a staged walkout? Does it affect the protesting players or the NFL? No more than what they’ve done so far. I read a funny stat that said that over half of the active NFL players have a police record. So, when they are protesting police, maybe it’s not Castile or Travon they are thinking of, but themselves…

“some Antifa crazy could show up. Speaking of them, have they been quiet lately?” TOO quiet. They are all gearing up for this Nov. 4 “action.” Apparently it isn’t just about “occupying” public spaces — they are also supposed to attack any ‘responders’ of any kind who show up, inc. police, EMTs, firefighters, etc. Not good. I hope LEAs nip it in the bud, but it’s better to be ready. It’s either going to be extremely gnarly and there will be bloodshed, or it will be like Y2K, and a big dud. The left, consistently appealing to and coddling the mentally ill, will have this to answer for if it’s bad.

“Of course our votes pretty much don’t go anywhere, just like your vote in California.” SO annoying. As in Gov. Brown just doing all this awful legislation and the voter’s hands are tied. It’s the worst. I liked the blue jeans, though, lol. ????

I don’t know if this is real, photoshopped, an unrelated picture, or what, but this pic has been circulating. Could DJT be starting the wall at last?

          • January

Good Morning. Don’t be sorry. I went to bed early, and I mean early.

“Seriously, I have to laugh even though it’s worrying, it’s just so weird: a poll.” Weird is not the word. To me it just another cryptic message.

“He’s cagier in his words than DJT, but it still looks like it’s Game On.” I believe it’s on. If they use any nuke on NK or even start a war with them, you better start worrying about Israel, of course that’s if Trump doesn’t turn around and go after Iran next, which is a very big possibility, because: The deal with Iran and their nukes will go out the door, and they just may send one to Israel, then Trump will go after Iran for going after Israel. They may just send a nuke to Israel if Trump gets rid of the deal as far as the US. Even Russia had warned that if he leaves the deal it could have very negative consequences.

“They are all gearing up for this Nov. 4 “action.”, I’m thinking it’s going to be just like any other protest. They were suppose to come out and protest on Columbus Day and nothing happened. I did read that on Nov. 4th, they are suppose to try and remove Trump from the White House. Of course if you have a few thousand show up there, they might just succeed in doing that. A lot will be gunned down but the rest will continue going. Just like in the Russian Revolution. I think they are just all talk. If they start attacking the police, again a lot of them will die. The military vehicles the cops have today, Antifa doesn’t stand a chance. In Chicago, Swat Teams and the vehicles they have, they’ll call them revolutionaries and take them out. To be honest, I think they are just full of hot air. Of course, I won’t be going into the city on Nov. 4th, just in case. lol

“I don’t know if this is real, photoshopped, an unrelated picture, or what, but this pic has been circulating.”, about two weeks ago, I saw that on Facebook. It may just be a prototype. He can’t start building because he doesn’t have the budge to do it with. The deal with Schumer and Pelosi didn’t include the wall and so far the budget doesn’t include the wall. The picture may also be just that, a prototype picture or something fake going around just to rile up one side or another.

Have some things to do so talk later.

          • David Watts

“To me it just another cryptic message.” To the American people? Or to KJU? Not that you’re wrong.

Yes, I’ve seen where Iran is making unfriendly noises now. DJT is bringing out the best from the best, lol. Here is a good article on Iran and sanctions:

            wjla(dot)com/news/nation-world/iran-nuclear-deal-10-10-2017

Trump doesn’t seem to be taking as hard a line on Iran as he is taking on NK. I’m sure Israel wants more than even he is doing. I don’t know that Iran would be mad enough over sanctions to bomb Israel… except that they hate Israel anyway, so no excuse would be too flimsy. Apparently DJT thinks Corker was ‘soft on Iran,’ and that’s part of the feud there.

“Of course, I won’t be going into the city on Nov. 4th, just in case. lol” Yeah, I have no clue, but it’s good to be prepared. Antifa like to talk big, but they have rarely staged anything as large as what they’re planning Nov. 4. I don’t know if you saw that clip of ‘protestors’ in L.A. in late September blocking the freeway (Antifa’s fave thing) with signs spelling out “Nov. 4: It Begins.” Which seems so ominous to me, but maybe it’s all puff. Please do not go into the city — the cities will be the worst, if anything is.

“The picture may also be just that, a prototype picture or something fake going around just to rile up one side or another.” Foo. 🙁

These wildfires, I’m sure you’ve heard about them, even though they are nowhere near me, the air was hazy and smelled smoky all day here. That’s how big the fire is and how far the smoke has spread. A whole little suburb called Coffee Park was wiped out: every home there was burned to the ground. Incredible and awful. Even by Cali standards, these are above-average fires in size. I hope they get it all contained soon.

            Take care… later! ????

          • January

“To the American people? Or to KJU? Not that you’re wrong.”, KJU would be my guess. KJU is aware of all DJT’s tweets and has responded to some of them, verbally.

Stronger sanctions put on Iran would most likely include the freezing of their bank accounts and that would stop all the trading they have been doing. For example: the plans on Boeing building all those planes for Iran. That would stop because of frozen bank accounts. What kind of better deal does Trump want? Iran made out on that deal and trying to pull it and put more sanctions on them is going to make them very unhappy.

“Apparently DJT thinks Corker was ‘soft on Iran,’ and that’s part of the feud there.” I’ve heard Trump has said that but was he? He has said a lot of things about Corker and Corker has said a lot about Trump. I wish they would stop the words going back and forth between them. But, I believe Trump is really ticked off that Corker is not running for re-election because he knows he needs him and may just feel like he’s being deserted, which in a way he is. I gave you two links which will better explain it. Putin is totally against removing the Iran deal and it’s for more selfish reasons. Also, keep in mind, North Korea & Iran are pretty much allies, along with Russia. The three of them don’t care for Israel. Putin is a little more neutral when it comes to Israel but not that neutral. Let’s just hope this all calms down and it doesn’t turn into ww3.

            jpost(dot)com/Middle-East/Fact-checking-Trump-on-Corkers-role-in-Iran-deal-507084

            jpost(dot)com/Israel-News/The-impact-of-the-Korea-crisis-on-Israel-502130

“I don’t know if you saw that clip of ‘protestors’ in L.A. in late September blocking the freeway (Antifa’s fave thing) with signs spelling out “Nov. 4: It Begins.” No, I didn’t hear about that. They may have been trying to do scare tactics, or drumming up more support for Nov. 4th. I believe they are going to try to do something, but how big will they be? Also, my one fear is, they have all their support actually go the Washington and try to pull Trump and Pence out, or take over the White House. If there were enough of them, they could succeed BUT it wouldn’t last because the military would move it and it would be a bloody battle, something we really don’t need at this time. Antifa, I don’t call a Domestic Terrorist Group, I call the Communist Revolutionists. In Russia Revolution they were able to succeed because the military had actually turned against the Romanov’s and wanted to removed them from power. Our military & National Guards won’t turn against their own country. Yep, I’m staying home that day and you had better just stay in your house that day also. And, on a lighter note, when nothing happens, we’ll feel like fearmonger fools. lol But on a serious note, let’s not take any chances.

I was going to ask you about those wild fires. We keep getting reports here on our news. Those poor people. David Muir did a segment on it tonight. I’m glad they are paying attention to it and reporting it. Is Coffee Park the one where the fire hit so fast, people just about got out? We’ve heard about the number of dead and the number missing. I heard that they were calling around for the missing people and did find some of them ok. I was thinking about you when I was listening to the news. Oakland is just across the bay from San Francisco and the fire is up by Santa Rosa. That’s really not far from you but far enough. Isn’t it about 60/70 miles?
“Even by Cali standards, these are above-average fires in size.” Seriously, we’re hearing on the news here. My heart goes out to all those people. It’s so sad. Did you hear about the couple that died in their house that had been married for 75 years? He had just turned 100 and she was 99. It’s just all so sad seeing the destruction from the fire and hearing the stories coming from it. It seems lately it’s one disaster over another. You know if the smoke gets bad by you, just be careful if you go out in it. ????

I’m going to bed. You have a good night and talk later. This is me for California. ????

          • David Watts

“and may just feel like he’s being deserted, which in a way he is. ” If Trump is that dependent on ONE man, he’s in trouble anyway. Let him go. Thanks for the “jpost” articles, what you were saying is that much clearer to me now. Is it a nuclear ‘taboo,’ or fear of retribution that stops Iran or Pakistan from bombing Israel? We know they’d love to do it. Somehow, I doubt ‘taboos’ matter to the mullahs…

“North Korea & Iran are pretty much allies, along with Russia. ” That’s where the article helped me: i didn’t realize NK and Iran were so buddy-buddy, but it makes sense when you hear it. As far as Putin goes, I think he likes to play various sides off of one another, then he can sit slightly outside the circle and reap (imagined) benefits. Crafty and Machiavellian, that’s our Vlad…

“they have all their support actually go the Washington and try to pull Trump and Pence out,” Either that, or they’ll just trash downtown Oakland and loot the Foot Locker store… again. I can’t believe they stay open: they are looted in every single ‘protest’ here, and Oakland protests everything, even events thousands of miles away that have nothing to do with us. My main worry is, since the left has been pandering to the mentally ill for some time, that they’ll do something really crazy and destructive on the 4th (I know not what.) You can’t predict crazy, and as our old friend Steve King used to say: these people are bugfuck. Sorry for language, but sometimes it’s apt. I wish we could vacuum them up like stink buggs. Yes, let’s be safe on the 4th, by all means.

“Is Coffee Park the one where the fire hit so fast, people just about got out?” yes, luckily everyone got out, but not a single wall of a single home is left standing. Some chimneys, and one guy’s fireproof safe survived… except it was looted. 🙁 It’s a lot colder today, maybe that will help firefighting efforts.

“This is me for California. ????” Thanks — we need it! later gator…

          • January

Sorry for being so late but I was one of those that had Facebook problems. Lost my navigation bar, couldn’t move around much, Farmville 2 was all messed up and to top it, Yahoo took over my Google Chrome Search. Finally everything is back to working.

“Is it a nuclear ‘taboo,’ or fear of retribution that stops Iran or Pakistan from bombing Israel?”, I think both. Israel does have a good stash of nuclear weapons and, I’m thinking, retribution from the US. Since we made Israel our ally, we were sworn to defend them. It’s funny though, during the Russian / Afghanistan war, Israel & Pakistan shared intelligence together to help out. But, Pakistan will never really come to being any sort of friend/ally to Israel because of the militants in Pakistan. They have always been pro Palestine. I don’t think there are many Muslim nations that do support Israel. There are individual Muslims that do but very few countries even recognize Israel as a nation. Did you know that on passports issued for people in Pakistan, it states they can visit any country other than Israel? I think that’s the same with a lot of the Arab/Muslim countries, and a lot of them Israel Citizens are not allowed in their country. Plus if you go and visit Israel and they stamp your passport with Israel on it, there are countries that will not let you in because you visited Israel. That’s how much they do not recognize Israel as a nation.

          • David Watts

Yeah, my Facebook was out too, I was just getting a blank page there for a few hours…

“Did you know that on passports issued for people in Pakistan, it states they can visit any country other than Israel?” I didn’t know that, but I’m not surprised. The hatred of Israel is very ingrained in the Arab world, and if it wasn’t before the wars of the 60’s-70’s, it sure is now. What a mess, and for the Israelis too. Everyone’s insistence that their religions were founded within the same 100-mile radius has always been a problem, and will continue to be until they all learn to co-operate — which will be never, IMO. At least the Mormons founded their religion here, lol…

“That’s Putin. Choose the side where he’ll benefit.” I saw a random picture today of Putin cuddling a little dog he’d just been presented with. It’s always so weird watching world leaders trying to humanize themselves a little. I guess, at the end of the day, he’s “just a guy,” but a mighty weird and a mighty powerful one.

“Guess we’ll find out in a little over 1/2 a month.” I actually am feeling a little apprehensive. Hopefully I’m way offbase. The Trump Derangement Syndrome runs deep with these people, it’s some advanced stage of the syndrome here.

Cali Fires: Here’s the best article I’ve read today on the fire situation:

            sfgate(dot)com/bayarea/article/Thousands-more-evacuated-as-Wine-Country-blazes-12269691.php

It seems to be moving away from me, North and also East, towards Sacramento. Maybe a small fire trail will creep up to the Governor’s mansion and give Gov. Moonie a hotfoot. I love that guy like you love Madigan and Rahm E. Also moving northward towards Calistoga. I’m hearing numbers like “3% containment.” 3% means No Containment, IMO. There are tons of firefighters from all over the state and from Nevada, too, working out there, some have done 40-hour shifts, and that’s the containment level. This is one major fire, one of the biggest if not the biggest of my lifetime. There are other fires burning in other parts of the state too, and normally they’d make the news, but they are small potatoes compared to this. Baked potatoes. I shouldn’t joke, but I often do in the face of the horrific as a coping mechanism. I’m hoping to wake up tomorrow to news of far more containment and less spreading. We could use the rain you got here! And I usually never hope for rain, lol.

take care and stay dry… ☂️????

I’m going to skip to Antifa first.
” I actually am feeling a little apprehensive.”, Don’t feel that way. I’m going to post a couple links for you. Just lock the doors and stay inside and if you have to go out and there’s a crowd, put a sign on you, “I hate Trump, I don’t support Trump”, Your from Cali, they would believe it. There’s 3 links I’m giving you. One is from Snoopes, One is from Newsweek (you’ll find that one very interesting) and one is from Chicago a couple months ago. (You might get a good laugh out of that one) Chicago PD doesn’t take any crap from anybody. I think I’ve told you that before. Where are you getting your news from? If It’s from Conservative News something, I chucked that one long, long time ago. Info Wars, I listened to him once and burst out laughing. There are other Conservative news reporting’s that I have also chuck a long, long time ago. Obama was still President. Just take caution, there maybe a few out there, who knows.

            snopes(dot)com/is-antifa-planning-a-civil-war/

            newsweek(dot)com/antifa-waging-civil-war-november-4-right-wing-conspiracy-theory-681219

            bluelivesmatter(dot)blue/antifa-chicago-pd-arrest-video/

I’ve been out to a copy of the Antifa FB sites. Nothing. Around Berkeley, maybe there will be a few but I’m sure pro Trump people aren’t going to be there so why would they come out?

Here’s a religion lesson for you to get your mind off of antifa. You may know some of this already. There is a lot that goes on with the Muslims and Jews but a big piece of that is things in the Bible and what Mohammed wrote. I think you know this; The story of Abraham, his wife Sara/Sarah couldn’t have children so she had him sleep with her servant. The servant gave birth to a child called Ishmael. Then God sent an angel to Sarah to tell her she would give birth to a son and they were to call him Issac. Sarah had become jealous of her servant and wanted her sent away. God approved that and promised Abraham that they would be taken care of. They were not Jewish. Abraham was and Sarah was a Gentile (but in God’s favor). (break)

Ishmael, per God would be the father of many nations but they were be nations of unrest and wild. Muslims
Issac, one of his sons would be the father of many, many nations and would be the Jewish people.
God tested Abraham’s loyalty to him and he was to sacrifice his son Issac. Now Abraham knew God made a promise about the many nations but took Issac up to the mount and got ready to sacrifice him. It’s believed that he knew God would stop him, which he did and behind him was a goat and the goat was to be sacrificed instead. I know all this sacrifice may sound weird but I’m giving you the short version of it. Abraham knew he was being tested, and he knew God wouldn’t let him sacrifice his son because he had made a promise to him about, again the many nations, and in the Bible when God made a promise, he didn’t break it.
So the story, the Muslims and the Jews are actually fighting over what son was taken to the mount to be sacrificed. Mohammad wrote that it was Ishmael, after our Bible was written. The Muslim want control of the Cave of the Patriarchs were Abraham and other figures in the Bible are buried because Abraham is the father of Ishmael and they are denying Issac, the true son of Abraham and the Hebrews. They are also fighting over Temple Mount. Muslims claim Mohammad rose from that site on a winged horse. I found some writing on him, that one of his wives said he was somewhere else when he died and hadn’t gone anywhere near Temple Mount. They claim Mohammad is the true Prophet and God’s chosen one. NOT!!! When he wrote the Quran, several places he mentions our Bible and in the Quran he did write that the land the Jews are on was given to them by God. The Jews disobeyed some of God’s command and were punished for years and bared from the land he gave them but he also said he made a promise to them and one day it would be fulfilled. And it was, Israel now belongs to the Jewish people. (break)

Earlier I had said Ishmael would be the father of many nations and then I said Issac’s son would be the father of many, many nations. Why not Issac the father? Sarah was not Hebrew/Jewish, in the Jewish law, the child take on what the mother is. Sarah was a Gentile. So Issac married a Hebrew/Jewish woman and then that son would be Jewish because the mother was and then he would be the leader. Did that make sense? Here’s something else, Mohammad was a false prophet that claims God’s angel came to him to write the Quran, just like Joseph Smith claims that God’s angel came to him to write the Book of Mormon. We call those two, false prophets. One created a mess of evil (the birth of ISIS) and one created something that did turn out good except for the cult Mormons. There are an example of Evil vs Good but they both were about Religious Control. I still believe there are very good Muslims here.

As for me, I have believed for a long time that I have come from the line of Abraham and Sarah. I can’t explain why, but there is a very strong feeling inside of me. I would not be considered Jewish because my Mother was Norwegian. Really, I’m not crazy, but it’s a feeling that I can’t explain. My great Grandfather on the maternal side of my dad, was found on the streets of New York as an orphan at the age of 6. He was taken in by the New York Aid Society and when he was a few years older was sent to Minnesota on one of the Orphan’s Train. We have never been able to find out who his parents were for sure, but around the time he was found, immigration was coming in pretty big to Ellis Island and a lot of the Jewish People were coming in. His name was Harry Henry Lewis and I found a couple of men by the name Lewis in England with a son name Harry Henry Lewis. They were Jewish. One of the kids was born around the same time my Great Grandfather was born. Same year but a different month. I could find that they existed but could not find where they went and what happened to them. I did find one thing that it was thought the family went to New York. A lot of people that came in around that time were sick from the journey and a lot died. I recently ordered the DNA kit from Ancestry so I need to get that done and sent in. Who knows, I might find other’s that I am related to. When they do the DNA, they also run it to see if somebody else matches yours and let’s you know. I’m hoping I get some names of relatives that I know stayed back in Denmark when my dad’s paternal side came over.

Ok I gave you enough to think about. So I just gave you a religion lesson and food for thought about Muslims and Jewish people and I didn’t write it to change you in any way. The one thing I will ask you to do, is listen to your inner voice and I mean really listen because it can keep you out of danger.

I sure wish our rain was coming your way. I think we are getting more tonight. I forgot about Sacramento being up that way.
“Baked potatoes. I shouldn’t joke, but I often do in the face of the horrific as a coping mechanism.” I know what you mean. Early when I wrote you a couple smart butt comments came to mind but I didn’t want to say them. Humor is a good thing in the time of tragedy and a little laugh sometimes is the best medicine. I don’t know if the rain we got would have helped or made it worse. It was so windy about an hour before it started and then the wind kept up. The wind is probably what took our power out. Don’t know how long it was out because I slept through it. Grateful for that. I do worry about the fires there. I pray the missing people are found ok. People have lost so much and so many of them. You feel helpless.

Just don’t worry. I’ve always been strong when a crisis hits and can manage my way through it. My family and friends turn to me at those times and I hold them up, but It’s after the crisis is over and everything is back to normal, that’s when I need somebody to pick me up.

I need to go to bed, so you just relax and think, “damn, she’s teaching me religion again”. Have a good night my friend.

Antifa: “Where are you getting your news from?” Oh, all over (see below). I agree with you on Info Wars: that would be for ‘entertainment purposes only,’ not news. As far as Nov. 4, i was mainly going by this leaflet and others I’ve seen around Berkeley:
            https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/77acacee6895410f10132c8afd836c172ddd741b0f4ad1050819b649ff9afb41.jpg

Some of the news sources I like are: Red State (you know them), Red State News (very different, only the name is similar), Young Conservatives (Stacey Dashes’ site), USA Supreme (Kellyanne Conway’s site), MILO News, Breitbart, East Bay Times, SFGate, (both liberal as can be), The Campanil (lesbian separatists who’d love to kill me, probably, lol), Berkeley Patch, AOL News (very vanilla), and even WaPo or CNN if they have something germane to what I’m searching for. Also, I listen to/follow a TON of YouTube commentators, the so-called “Independent News.” Some of them are very thorough and informative. Newsweek, and more so Snopes, are awfully left wing, so I don’t know if they are being truthful or ignoring Antifa like they always do. MILO did have that undercover film of Antifa passing real knives around on the eve of Ben Shapiro’s talk in Berkeley. Guns were mentioned also. So, Snopes telling me everything is ok isn’t that soothing, lol. That “Marshal” who did the warning video’s uniform is just like those the Chicago PD was wearing to clear up the protestors in that video, coincidentally, so maybe he’s for real and maybe he isn’t. Their badges were printed on as well. He does seem a little ‘off,’ my inner voice tells me ( ???? ) but, I would put NOTHING past Antifa, up to and including extreme acts of random violence. OK, enough paranoia…

I did like the clip of the Chicago PD. I guess they weren’t being told to stand down that time… lol

“his wife Sara/Sarah couldn’t have children so she had him sleep with her servant.” Was the servant’s name Rebecca? I think I have heard the story, that’s why I ask. I could look it up, but I want to see how good my memory is, let me know. It’s said there’s only a handful of women’s names in the bible, compared to many, many men’s names, so parents looking for biblical-based names for their children have fewer choices for the girls. Rebecca, Mary, Esther, Rachel, Sarah, and maybe one more I can’t recall? Was the servant (Rebecca?) jewish? That would be weird for the Muslims if so!

“I know all this sacrifice may sound weird but I’m giving you the short version of it. ” This story I know (a little.) There’s a great song about it called “Story Of Isaac” by Leonard Cohen (he doesn’t sound like a Gentile, lol.) “… and his axe was made of gold.” Well, I know sacrifices as a form of tithing were very common in those times, and we should take that into account, but what a creepy story, anyway, esp. if we think of Abraham and Isaac as real, living people, not story characters written to teach us… something. And what’s the lesson? That you may be asked upon to sacrifice everything, even a beloved child, by your own hand, if God asks you? That’s a hell of a test. However, the Story of Job is far more bizarre to me. God and the devil making bets on the piousness of humans? That’s a very strange one…. but the lesson is clearer to me there. You cannot be a ‘fair-weather friend’ to God when you’re doing well, and curse Him when you’re doing badly, I think that’s what’s at work there. Still the involvement of Satan is disturbing… there needs to be separation! That’s my dilettantish, uninformed take on it, though… but you brought it up, lol. Forgive me if I got anything horribly wrong, which is likely.

“So Issac married a Hebrew/Jewish woman and then that son would be Jewish because the mother was and then he would be the leader. Did that make sense?” I think so: the “leader of nations” had to be born one generation later than predicted/promised because Isaac’s mom Sarah wasn’t Jewish, and this leader had to have a Jewish mom/be Jewish. So it was delayed one generation til Isaac married and had HIS son. Then it was “Hebrew Nation: On,” lol.

” I recently ordered the DNA kit from Ancestry so I need to get that done and sent in. ” There is also something called “23andME” which is an ancestry test a lot of far-right commentators recommend taking to show you’re NOT Jewish, lol. Maybe if you take it would show you were (or partly)? I don’t know if it costs $$$ or not, but people seem to like it and praise it’s accuracy and thoroughness. I’m pretty much a Kraut, and on my Dad’s side, a Jock (Scottish), lol, although I haven’t taken the test.

“I didn’t write it to change you in any way.” I know, that’s not a problem. Christianity is the building block of Western Civilization: no one can say these things aren’t important. And, as Molyneux said: I’d rather live next door to a Christian than an Atheist. Amen! ????

“My family and friends turn to me at those times and I hold them up, but It’s after the crisis is over and everything is back to normal, that’s when I need somebody to pick me up.” Ha, I have the same role in my family. I have a t-shirt that says: “I may be the black sheep of the family, but when shit gets real, I’m the one they call.” It’s so true in my case. And the part about needing someone to pick you up in turn was true as well.

“”damn, she’s teaching me religion again”. ” really, not a problem. Speaking of which, some church had a funny sign I liked:

            good night! ????

When it comes to Berkeley, anything is possible. I went out to their site that is on that brochure. I believe they are wannabees trying to start something BUT I also believe Berkeley will see a lot of it. This reminds me of the bikers that wanted a rally at the White House, when Obama was in, and said thousands of bikers were going to be there. A lot showed up but it turned into almost nothing. Where you are at, yes that could start some rioting. Just stay at home, don’t go out and watch a couple movies. On some of the Antifa sites, nothing was mentioned about Nov. 4th, at least the sites I went out to. In Chicago, Nov. 4th, it’s going to start getting cold and the wind off that lake will freeze their butts that’s if the CPD doesn’t get them first. It’s funny but I don’t believe are cops will be told to stand down. If they are, a big majority of them will just go rogue. If Antifa were to throw something and hit one of our cops or start beating up people, they would take them down. I would be very surprised if they didn’t. CPD does have a very bad reputation. (break)

When I’m at Navy Pier this Saturday, I’m going to ask one of the cops that are always there if they have heard about Nov. 4th and see what they have to say. I’ll let you know what they say. I can see Antifa coming here and trying something, they end up punching a gangbanger’s wife, girlfriend, mother, sister or a member, yeah, it’s called dead man walking. They’ll do a retribution drive by shooting, or the gang member that they punch, out comes the gun and it will get fired. I’ve noticed, when Antifa goes after people, it’s usually older people or somebody who is just trying to carry on a conversation with them. They hit the easy targets, which tells me they are a bunch of wimps when it comes to dealing with somebody strong that will kick the you know what out of them. If they get punched they scream “he hit me” and then they all pile on the person who did the punching. They throw their usual bottle of urine and hit a cop, immediate arrest, charges, assault on a cop. Or wait until they meet up with one of the many police dogs. Nov. 4th, I’ll keep my eyes and ears open and let you know. One thing, Chicago BLM wants nothing to do with Antifa. When they do protest marches, the CPD leads them down the streets that they want them to go down. They do have a respect for the majority of the CPD.

Remember when Trump came here and it was reported all over by the various Conservative news that there were riots and people were being hurt? Not true. ABC Chicago News did a live coverage of what was going on. On one side of the street were the Trump supporters and on the other side were the protesters, and in the middle was CPD. I think it was only about 4 people that were arrested for throwing things. I don’t even know why Trump would have had a scheduled rally at the college in the city because of this city being mainly Democrat. He would have done better booking it at one of the colleges down state where it’s more Republican. There was no way he was going to be able to change or win in years and years of a Democrat controlled city or state. He should have saved his money and stayed away. In order for a Republican to win this state in a General, the majority of the Dems would have to move out of Chicago and out of state.

Now for Illinois Governor race coming up. I truly doubt Rauner will be re-elected but you never know, a miracle could happen. Pritzker is going after him for the budget issue and Trump supporter. Pritzker is also going after people running against him. Dems are bad mouthing Rauner and each other with the exception of Chris Kennedy. He’s going after the high taxes that both sides put in. I’m crossing lines next year and campaigning for Kennedy. Pritzker ran another time and lost big time, so hopefully he’ll lose again. He’s nothing but a Madigan guy.

“Was the servant (Rebecca?) jewish? That would be weird for the Muslims if so!” Her name was Hagar and she wasn’t Jewish. She was an Egyptian handmaid. There are a lot of women names in the Bible, mother of this person and so on. The people were real. Abraham wrote a lot of the history that is in the Old Testament of the Bible, which makes up the Jewish Torah. His writings were on some type of tree bark, and is suppose to be preserved by the Jewish. The New Testament, all the writing they found the made it up, is somewhere at the Vatican. The Bible was writing by many people. The New Testament, the disciples wrote their stories but the majority of it was written by Saul/Paul.

Abraham and Sarah are buried at the Cave of the Patriarchs. There is a building that was built by King Herold over the cave and it remains the only Herodian building surviving today virtually intact.
I’m copying over a paragraph about the cave. “In 1100, after the area was captured by the Crusaders, the enclosure once again became a church and Muslims were no longer permitted to enter. During this period, the area was given a new gabled roof, clerestory windows and vaulting.

In the year 1113 during the reign of Baldwin II of Jerusalem, according to Ali of Herat (writing in 1173), a certain part over the cave of Abraham had given way, and “a number of Franks had made their entrance therein”. And they discovered “(the bodies) of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”, “their shrouds having fallen to pieces, lying propped up against a wall…Then the King, after providing new shrouds, caused the place to be closed once more”. Similar information is given in Ibn al Athir’s Chronicle under the year 1119; “In this year was opened the tomb of Abraham, and those of his two sons Isaac and Jacob …Many people saw the Patriarch. Their limbs had nowise been disturbed, and beside them were placed lamps of gold and of silver.” The Damascene nobleman and historian Ibn al-Qalanisi in his chronicle also alludes at this time to the discovery of relics purported to be those of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, a discovery that excited eager curiosity among all three communities in the southern Levant, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian”

“That you may be asked upon to sacrifice everything, even a beloved child, by your own hand, if God asks you? That’s a hell of a test.” There was a lesson there. Remember I said, God told Abraham that his son Issac’s son would be father of many nations. That was done as a promise to Abraham. How could Issac’s son be father of many nations if he died before he married and had a son? In that case, then God broke his promise but God doesn’t break his promise and Abraham knew this, but Abraham, at times, questioned God when he gave him instructions. When they went up to the mount, it’s believed that Abraham knew God was going to stop him, which he did but he still followed God’s instructions. The lesson to him was, don’t doubt and question what I ask of you because I never will break my promise to you. It was a strong lesson but God showed him, I am a God of my word, trust in me. Plus another lesson was, there will be no human sacrifice because he wouldn’t condone it. And Abraham showed God how much he love him. But, when Abraham went up to the mountain, he told his servants to wait down for him and HE and HIS SON will return. People miss that line. I believe there are other Gods because of the one Commandment, “Thou shalt have no other Gods before me”. The Gods are Zeus (who isn’t a true God but people worship him) ,Gold, leaders, those things. (break)

Human sacrifice was not condoned by God. They did sacrifice animals on the alter, which later that practice was stopped. There is a piece in the Bible about Jephthah sacrificing his daughter to God. That piece is taken in today’s thinking. The sacrifice he did was sending his daughter to serve God, what a nun would do today. Back then it was important for a daughter to marry and have children to build the family for generations. The sacrifice was his daughter would never have children because she was serving God and wouldn’t be allowed to marry. That’s how the nuns eventually came into existence that we know today. There’s another piece about how the women would travel to go mourn the daughter. They were visiting her but mourning that she would never have children. It is hard when reading the Bible because some of the words we associated with our meaning of that word today, or the actions back then, again we associate that with today. Those times were so different, as you know, then today. Like the part that says to “Fear God”. Fear is not to be afraid of him but to hold him up in love and worship, awe, reverence, those type of words.

Sodom and Gamorrah was coming up and Abraham’s brother with his wife were living there. It was about to be destroyed and Abraham did argue a little with God about killing all those people and that there had to be some innocent living there. Some Christians use that story against gays. The whole story is about same sex having sex with each other, yes BUT it also about them having sex with animals, anything they could have sex with. It was about no belief in God, killing just for the sport, rape, stealing, complete lawlessness. Nobody was righteous even Abraham’s brother was a sinner but he still believed in God, so he and his family were spared. The others knew nothing about right or wrong, they acted like a pack of wild animals. The were destroyed. Today, they would be sitting in a prison which they really didn’t have out in the desert at that time.

I really liked Leonard Cohen, the Jewish boy at heart. Every so often I pull up his “Hallelujah” video. I love how he put King David in it. King David is my favorite King in the bible and now it’s the Star of David for the Jewish. He got himself in some trouble with God, he was punished but he repented, and I’ve always believed God favored him of all the Kings of the Hebrews.

“Then it was “Hebrew Nation: On,” lol.”, you are so funny. lol Yes you got that paragraph right.

“And, as Molyneux said: I’d rather live next door to a Christian than an Atheist. Amen! ????”,

It’s taken me two hours to write this. I was doing something in the kitchen and would run back and write more. Sorry. If you have any questions, I’ll answer them.

Ok my friend, Your Turn!!! lol P.S. I love that picture. There are some really funny ones out there.

Wow, that is long, I’m a lil intimidated… lol

“CPD does have a very bad reputation.” I know when the Daleys ran things in Chi-town, they had that reputation, but still? Hmm. Considering current crime levels, maybe the cops feel they have to be more, erm, robust, with their responses than in other places?

” I’m going to ask one of the cops that are always there if they have heard about Nov. 4th and see what they have to say. I’ll let you know what they say.” Thanks, please do. Like you say, it may be a big ‘nothingburger,’ and I hope so. In fact, maybe it will be such a big nothing that Antifa and BAMN will flake off for a while — we can but hope.

” I don’t even know why Trump would have had a scheduled rally at the college in the city because of this city being mainly Democrat.” He did the same thing here! What’s Trump think he’s gonna accomplish holding a rally in the Bay Area? Yet, he did. People are so indoctrinated here, if they didn’t like Trump, him coming here wouldn’t change that.

“Pritzker ran another time and lost big time, so hopefully he’ll lose again. He’s nothing but a Madigan guy.” And of course, “Pritzker Group” was one of the biggest DNC contributors on that list above: they are involved up to their eyeballs. Which means they have to win, right?

Thanks for telling me about women’s names in the Bible — I got that wrong. HAGAR?!?!? What kind of name is that for a woman? lol. I remember well the old comic strip about a rowdy viking named “Hagar The Horrible.” That’s what I thought of first when I read that.

“The Bible was writing by many people” I think the word “Bible” literally means: “collection.” A lot of hands involved, and it was written over a long period of time. I get the feeling the books in the Bible were separate at one time, then gathered into the Bible we know.

Isaac: “The lesson to him was, don’t doubt and question what I ask of you because I never will break my promise to you.” And isn’t that 2-way street? He will never break his promise to you — so don’t you break your promise to Him, either. God is showing you how to act: please respond in kind. He made you in His image, live up to that potential. or: would you rather be a pig? ???? Still: a harsh test, IMO. Or, you could say as Abraham was ‘chosen’ to head a line that would eventually be a line of Kings, God wanted him to sharpen up his piousness, STAT. Hence, a demonstration of willingness to obey.

“he told his servants to wait down for him and HE and HIS SON will return. People miss that line.” Ah, so somewhere in Abraham’s mind, he knew what was going on, but he also knew he had to go through with it, he couldn’t just say, “I see, God. Thanks for the Alert Warning, talk to you on the flipside.” lol. He did have confidence that Isaac wouldn’t be hurt somehow. That does seem to soften it a bit.

“”Thou shalt have no other Gods before me”. The Gods are Zeus (who isn’t a true God but people worship him) ,Gold, leaders, those things. ” OH yes. Other gods include: social justice… celebrities… social media… and more.

“Those times were so different, as you know, then today. Like the part that says to “Fear God” Yeah, I always see that as “hold in awe,” or “be humble before,” not “fear” as in “shake and tremble for your life.” Another great word is “Apprehend.” Not as in to arrest someone, but to ‘behold without understanding what you’re seeing, exactly.” We “apprehend” God but we don’t “comprehend.” Not on His level, anyway. We do our best… lol.

“It was about no belief in God, killing just for the sport, rape, stealing, complete lawlessness.” Exactly, and replacing God with yourself, so you can justify your own decadence. Sin Of Pride: and back to zero you go. And they did. There’s a reason the early followers of Christianity hated the idea of this sort of insane Pride: it led to anarchy and a compete absence of Humility (the opposite of Pride.) And the story of Sodom and Gomorrah ends in such a way that we can see God didn’t think much of it, either.

“There is a piece in the Bible about Jephthah sacrificing his daughter to God.” This story has been used as a literary trope all over the place. So, even I have heard of it. One place was in an appropriately creepy song sung by the daughter herself, “Burn, Baby, Burn” written and performed by The Residents. I also had a girlfriend once who danced in a ballet based on that story, and she played the daughter. Just a bit of trivia…

“It’s taken me two hours to write this. I was doing something in the kitchen and would run back and write more.” Yeah, I’ll do that too: work on music or exercise or something in between paragraphs. It helps me think of more or better things to write once I sit down, I get ideas when I’m away from the computer. Anyway, all you wrote was interesting, so I thank you. Later! ????

          • January

“Wow, that is long, I’m a lil intimidated… lol”, hey, be happy we weren’t talking face to face. You would probably be just sitting there nodding and smiling. lol

“And of course, “Pritzker Group” was one of the biggest DNC contributors on that list above: they are involved up to their eyeballs.” He is spending a ton of money on this campaign but so is Rauner. Pritzker is worth billions but he was last time he ran and lost. Rauner is worth hundreds of millions and Kennedy, around $40 millions (estimated). The state is very down on Madigan, and Pritzker is a Madigan man. He’ll try to say he isn’t but we know he is. Kennedy is from the Kennedy political dynasty and I’m hoping that will be his draw. His uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy was very respected here and the scandal way back when, didn’t seem to have a damaging impact on him. I think Senator Durbin will also endorse him, I’m hoping.

Rep. Luis Gutierrez is endorsing Pritzker, a lot of people are upset with him over illegal immigration.
Rep Bobby Rush is endorsing Kennedy, he worked in Congress with Ted Kennedy and is reminding people what the Kennedy’s stood for, especially civil rights. Chris is the son of Bobby Kennedy, who was fighting for civil rights. People are very upset in our state over the big income tax increase, so I’m thinking they are going to attack Rauner & Madigan over that. The one thing that may work for them is the fact that Chicago about a year ago raised property taxes. It was announced yesterday that they want to raise them again. I’m going to be campaigning for Kennedy. Now I have to get all my facts together on Pristzker and dig deep to find any dirt on him I can.

“He will never break his promise to you — so don’t you break your promise to Him, either.” Well, he knows when we make a promise that we may end of breaking it, not actually meaning to, but it will happen, that’s why we were given Jesus to die on the cross for our sins that would come. The one promise that we should never break, is the promise to always believe in him and Jesus. Some have walked away, but then have come back and asked for forgiveness and became even stronger in their faith. And yes, they will be forgiven. Those that keep doing it, that’s up to God to say what will happen. Last year I made a promise to him and so far this year I’ve kept it. When the Cubs played in the series last year, every game, I was talking to him and begging him to let them win. The final game, I’m sitting there watching it, begging him to let them win. Ninth inning they were tied and I’m begging him again to please let them win and I threw in a promise to him. I told him, if they win the series that next year I would not ask him to let them win but if they did I would thank him. It was funny because they were getting ready to go into the 10th inning and it started pouring rain. At that point, the Cubs were tired. They waited out the rain and during that time, that got totally fired up, came out when the rain stopped, and won. You better believe I said thank you as I was crying over the win. Last night they won and are working their way up to the World Series. I thanked him but did not ask him to let them win. That’s how promises work. We aren’t perfect like God and Jesus are and he knows it. We are humans.

The thing with Sodom and Gomorrah, people use it against gays. That’s wrong. Either they don’t grasp the true meaning behind it or they are cherry picking it. Some tell gays they will burn in hell. That is wrong on many levels. 1.) Only God can judge where you are going. 2.) Gays that believe in Jesus and God, those finger pointing people forget that Jesus died for our sins. They should read Job and pay attention to what God did to the people who accused Job of sinning. Good lesson there. 3.) We are to love all God’s children.
4.) We are to also forgive people and not judge them. 5.) I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here. At the same time, I’m not perfect either. I try not to judge but I do at times. Notice I haven’t been really making comments on Milo’s stuff out here? I’m trying not to judge. I know something will come out and I’ll slip.

Ok, the news and internet are going to go crazy now. I just turned the channel on the TV and a special report was just ending. It sounds like Trump is pulling out of the Iran deal. Stay tuned.

“I think the word “Bible” literally means: “collection.” You are right. The Old Testament already existed with the Jewish people. When Jesus came he started Christianity with his followers and disciples. A lot of people called him “Teacher”. Peter was Jewish at the beginning and I think a lot of the other disciples were also. After Jesus died on the cross, the disciples split up and travel to many countries to gather the people and spread Christianity. A lot of the people that turned, didn’t believe in God at that time. You probably know all that. Do you know what all the books in the Old Testament are called in the sections. Not the name of each book but how it’s broken up in sections. Did you know this? When the Old Testament ends and the New Testament begins that it was 400 years between the two. I didn’t even know that until about two years ago.

I love you responses to what I wrote. You add humor which is really good.

“I also had a girlfriend once who danced in a ballet based on that story, and she played the daughter. Just a bit of trivia…”, I bet it was wonderful to see. I love to watch the ballet. People still think God killed her but the way it’s written, if you use today and compare it, then it comes off that way. I have to get back into a Bible study class. The church I was going to joined with another church from another town and they were going to use both churches. Now ours is closed and nobody knows if it’s going to reopen. A week from this Sunday, I’m thinking of going to the Zion Lutheran Church in town by me but first want to check out their Bible study classes.

Anything new going on? Guess when we’ll have more to talk about with the Iran deal and health care. Hope this isn’t as long as the last one.

            Talk later my friend.

          • David Watts

“hey, be happy we weren’t talking face to face. You would probably be just sitting there nodding and smiling. lol” No, I wouldn’t. I only do that if I feel I can’t speak freely without being jumped on and called a nazi. I doubt you would do that.

“His uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy was very respected here and the scandal way back when, didn’t seem to have a damaging impact on him.” Imagine a similar scandal today — what would happen to the pol involved? Career death, I’d imagine. It was a different and more accepting time. Now, no one accepts anything from anyone, lol.

“When the Cubs played in the series last year, every game, I was talking to him and begging him to let them win.” hee hee! Ms. Jan = Cubs fan! ⚾️ It would seem your prayers were heard. 🙂 And here they are in the Post-season again. I am a Giants fan, but they were so bad this year I didn’t watch a lot. Overhaul needed, esp. of the bullpen.

“people use it against gays. That’s wrong. ” I thought the thing to say was “I condemn the act, not the person?” Gays are so sensitive about Christianity anyway (see Dante.) Comparing them to the Gommorhans (see what I did there?) is ludicrous. It seems many gays want to belong to the church, and think about it a lot, so they are hardly turning their backs on God. It’s not a good comparison.

“It sounds like Trump is pulling out of the Iran deal.” I did see that. I guess NK isn’t “Hot” enough for Trump, so he’s poking another bear elsewhere. I’m sure AIPAC and other Israeli-friendly agencies are putting a word in Trump’s ear as well, no one likes having a target on their back, and we have pledged to protect Israel. What you said about the U.S. breaking the taboo on nukes may very well come true, if Iran uses it as a green light to attack you-know-who.

“Did you know this?” No, but most of what I know about this I learnt from… you, just now, lol. I did know that Paul lived around 500 AD (?) and that’s the time when Christianity really began to spread across the ‘known world.’ And when you see how the other religions of that time operated, it’s easy to see why people were willing to convert. Less bizarre rituals, less bowing to temple priests, more practical and moral solutions to every day problems. And, despite what detractors say, Christianity is kinder to women than probably any other religion. There is more ‘in it’ for women than being a Muslim, or even an orthodox Jew. Jewish religion says some nasty things about how inferior women are, IMO, it’s kind of ‘cringey.’ Only in Orthodoxy, not Reformed Judaism… but people still are Orthodox, particularly over there.

” love you responses to what I wrote. You add humor which is really good.” daw, thanks! 🙂It doesn’t mean I don’t take the subjects seriously, btw: I do. But if I think of something funny to add, I usually will. 🙂

“I bet it was wonderful to see.” I thought it was magical, but she was unhappy with her performance. Yes, I was biased… lol.💘

“A week from this Sunday, I’m thinking of going to the Zion Lutheran Church in town ” Would you believe I live right in between two churches? One each, a block away on either side of me. A Lutheran church and an Armenian Catholic one. Both seem pretty well-attended, the Armenian one especially.

“Anything new going on?” Just this Iran stuff, mostly. People are still talking about NFL protests, yawn. That will probably continue til the NFL season ends, though.

            late-ee-air!

          • January

🤣I would never call you a Nazi, you just wouldn’t get a word in. 🤣

“Imagine a similar scandal today — what would happen to the pol involved?” Are you kidding, he would have been drawn and quartered.

My Step-dad was a “yugh” Cub fan. Always keep saying, “they will win the series before I die”, my mom would say that also, yeah, that didn’t happen. My Step-dad pretty much grew up with Lou Boudreau and they were friends until he died. I have pictures of S-D, Mom and Lou & his wife. They also hung around Harry Caray. Dad always said Harry was cheap when they went out, everybody else bought the drinks and Harry just drank and wouldn’t buy one drink when they were together. My youngest son, Dan, was the only one interested in baseball, so he would take him to a lot of the Cubs games, from little on up.

“It seems many gays want to belong to the church, and think about it a lot,”. The problem is they hear about going to hell all the time and a lot of churches still have a problem with gays.

“I did see that. I guess NK isn’t “Hot” enough for Trump, so he’s poking another bear elsewhere.” This is not good for a couple reasons. 1.) It’s being reported that Trumps Security Team is saying that Iran is in compliance with the Deal. 2.) Senator Durbin says they have a recent inspection report that says Iran is sticking to the deal and everything looks good. 3.) No matter what deal comes up again with Iran, they probably aren’t going to trust us to stick to it and not go along with it. 4.) This is going to distance our allies. We need allies for strength and protection. Plus our allies aren’t going to trust us in any deal made. They are already speaking out about this, especially since Iran has been proven to be following the deal. If our allies pull away from us, the US will stand alone with only Israel, maybe SK and Australia. We are open for anybody who would want to come after us, like NK. This is just not good. We are now going to be a country who’s word means nothing. There was no reason for this. He claims they are still making them but the inspectors are saying No they aren’t. Now NK can just sneak some over to them just like they are sneaking crab to China. They got around that ban.

“I did know that Paul lived around 500 AD (?)”, you mean Saul/Paul? If so, he was born around 4 AD and died around 62/64 AD. He was always after Jesus and Jesus died on the cross around 30/34 AD. Right after his death is when the split up and went around the world teaching Christianity. I think around Jerusalem they converted about 5,000 and then spread out to other countries. In 400 AD The State Church of the Roman Empire was becoming fractured and people started spreading out to other countries and Christianity did start to grow fast and continued to grow through the centuries. I found a timeline of it. I have to bookmark it because I have been looking for this and just fell on it by accident. It list Peter as the first Pope. This was made up by the Catholic Church who keeps telling people they are the true church and the Protestants and Catholics argue over it. As far as I’m concerned Christians are Christians no matter what denomination you belong to so quit arguing.

            scaruff(dot)com/politics/christia.html

“Jewish religion says some nasty things about how inferior women are”, yes, they are the old Jewish religion that doesn’t believe in Jesus. There is the Messianic Judaism Jews that do believe in Jesus and treat the women better. There is something in Revelations about the ones that don’t believe in Jesus and one day they will need to call out to him. It says that just before the 2nd coming, 1/3 of the Jews in Israel will die. It will be from a country from the North that comes and attacks them. The timing of that is suppose to be when the New Temple Mount is built. Some other time I’ll explain it much better and you probably know some of it already.

“I thought it was magical, but she was unhappy with her performance.”, One can be their worst critic. I always was in my teachings and was the top trainer. That what makes you do better each time and move up. She probably was very beautiful in her dance.

“Would you believe I live right in between two churches?” 😅😅😅
So which one are you going to start going to? 😅 Try the Lutheran one first. Actually they still do a lot of the practices of the Catholic Church with the prayers and the Creeds. I need to get back so I can start Communion again. I’ve slacked off. Communion is confession of sin. Catholic, you confess to a priest and he absolves you. Non-Catholic, you confess your sins in prayer to God and not the Minister. The Bible says confess your sins to God and only God can absolve you. I play it safe and do what the Bible says. 😅 Yes, I can laugh because I truly believe that God is strict but he also is a loving God and has a sense of humor.

This is getting long, so I’m going to drop this question on you and you can give me your opinion before I do. What do you think about Trump’s changing some things on Obamacare last night?

Tomorrow, we aren’t going into the city. Sydney can’t go and my daughter in law came down with a cold. Hopefully next Sunday we are going.

Still praying for California. So sad.
NFL = YAWN: Have a good night. I’ll be home tomorrow. Talk later.

Ha, I just got called a ‘complete moron’ on Facebook. Ya gotta love that place…

“”Imagine a similar scandal today — what would happen to the pol involved?” Are you kidding, he would have been drawn and quartered.” Yes, accidentally drowning a teenage campaign worker under compromising circumstances probably wouldn’t fly today. That has nothing to do with Teddy’s politics, of course.

“”they will win the series before I die”” OK, I know I can’t even post a partial link to YouTube here, or my comment will never post. SO: I urge you to look up “Steve Goodman – A Dying Cubs Fan’s Last Request” on that there same YouTube. He actually WAS dying (and he didn’t live to see the Cubbies win, either), but it’s such a great song, really class and funny lyrics, and it just might make you cry, although it’s comedic and jolly. If a Giants fan can love the song, I’m sure an actual Cubs fan can, too.

“It’s being reported that Trump’s Security Team is saying that Iran is in compliance with the Deal.” Yes, but: DJT has said now that he won’t certify the deal AND he will impose new sanctions on Iran. Will that fly? is he protecting Israel or simply playing tough guy? What in the name of the Pillsbury Doughboy happened to NK? Perhaps DJT feels that since he’ll get no support from either party, he has free rein to do what he wants…. GW Bushie was kind of like this, but not on this scale.

“This is going to distance our allies. We need allies for strength and protection. Plus our allies aren’t going to trust us in any deal made. They are already speaking out about this, especially since Iran has been proven to be following the deal” Well-said. If you can break one major deal with a world power, why should anyone trust you? It’s like the Indian Treaties: after the first few were broken, and their lands drastically shrunk, they simply stopped signing them. That, of course, gave the U.S. government license to declare war on the Indians. History repeats itself — but it’s always the bad stuff repeating. I’d like a repeat of the Renaissance, for instance, or the Enlightenment era of the founding fathers. None on the horizon at the mo…

“In 400 AD The State Church of the Roman Empire was becoming fractured and people started spreading out to other countries and Christianity did start to grow fast ” OK, my ignorance was showing there; thanks for clarification. 😳 “A moron on Facebook is a moron around the world.” Who said that? Oh yeah: it was me. 🙂

The Scaruff link would not open at all… sorry… 🙁

” It will be from a country from the North that comes and attacks them. ” Hmm… Lebanon? Syria? Russia? All are North of Israel.

“Non-Catholic, you confess your sins in prayer to God and not the Minister. ” This seems the main difference, that and recognition of the authority of Rome. I know Luther said your relationship with God is one-to-one, you needed no intermediary, and in fact they get in the way. And the Pope thought Luther was full of beanz, lol.

” he also is a loving God and has a sense of humor.” i think we can see evidence of that humor all around us, lol.

“What do you think about Trump’s changing some things on Obamacare last night?” OK, I am basing my answer on this article:

            latimes(dot)com/la-na-pol-trump-obamacare-questions-20171013-htmlstory.html

It seems like a wash, a trade-off, to me. The Obamacare Fine on your taxes goes down, but your insurance premiums go up IF: they are not through your job or the government and IF: they are not subsidized due to your being below the poverty line. Poor people won’t be hurt, in fact, it looks like people like me will be hurt the most: people who pay for insurance on their own, without getting it through a job, and who aren’t subsidized. And I don’t mind, myself. I HATE the Obamacare Fine, and I also don’t think Insurance companies should be subsidized by the government for any reason. The entire original form of Obamacare was a huge gift to the insurers with a ribbon wrapped around it. Which they don’t deserve. Banks are supposed to be The Great Satan, but I think it’s insurers. Banks don’t get special laws passed forcing you to deposit your money there. A bank, when you put money in, has to pay out when asked. Try getting an insurer to do that. First, insurers made car insurance mandatory: the government forcing citizens to give money to a private industry (I thought that was illegal!) Then, they realized not everyone has a car, and: voila… Obamacare. SO EVERYONE: man, woman, child, doggo, pupper, kittykat, MUST give their money to the nearest insurer. Obama left a big mess behind him, for certain. As W.C. Fields used to say: “Larceny, I call it: Larceny…” (rant endeth)

            later gatorette! 🌕

Part 1…My original is on hold.
“Ha, I just got called a ‘complete moron’ on Facebook. Ya gotta love that place…”, did you make a political comment on Facebook? 🤣🤣
Not laughing at the name calling but at Facebook itself.

“”Steve Goodman – A Dying Cubs Fan’s Last Request” on that there same YouTube.” I’ll check that out.

“Yes, but: DJT has said now that he won’t certify the deal AND he will impose new sanctions on Iran.” Why? One it’s the Senate that have to come up with sanctions and that could take up to 10 months. But my question is: Why new sanctions with the Iran Deal was working. Iran was complying to it? When a country is sticking to a deal made by the US and other countries, why would you punish them with sanctions for it. He just showed the world that if you make a deal with the US, we may or may not honor it even if that country is honoring the deal. If we wanted to try and make a deal with North Korea now, do you think they would even consider one? Is this all about North Korea? Iran and NK are allies, is he trying to fire up North Korea so he can have his war? Or is he trying to fill one of his campaign promises of breaking the Obama deal even though it’s working? I’m posting a link for you about what Mattis is saying.

Part 2 – Hope this works.

“It seems like a wash, a trade-off, to me.” I don’t know. I agree with what you said about Obamacare and I agree that Obamacare was the wrong thing but Trump just going and doing his executive order, I don’t trust. Instead of him being on tweeter, fighting the NFL, NBC and several other individuals, perhaps he should have used that energy to try to unite the Dems and Reps and get them both to work on a fix. The Dems, yes that can’t stand him, but Trump has brought that on himself with his nasty comments all the time. When Obama was in Office, Congress was dysfunctional, now it’s a total disaster on both sides. Here’s a comment Trump just made.
“Health Insurance stocks, which have gone through the roof during the ObamaCare years, plunged yesterday after I ended their Dems windfall! This comment was not necessary especially when he seems to be celebrating. Stocks plunging? If they keep on plunging two things will happen. 1.) People laid off.
2.) Higher premiums then stated. You and I will feel those premiums.
“Poor people won’t be hurt”, the poor people that can get medicaid won’t be. The people that make too much to be put on medicaid and not enough to afford insurance will be. The biggest population of those will be the blacks. I also agree that the Government has stepped into too much of our rights but we let that happen over the years and they just kept on going. Now we sit back and wait to see what happens. I pray it’s for the good but I do have my doubts.
I’m borrowing this from you. “As W.C. Fields used to say: “Larceny, I call it: Larceny…”, I got a good, much needed laugh out of it.

Ok, here’s a link on North Korea.

I think, after reading this article, I need to drive up to 7/11 and get a big big bag of potato chips, along with some dip. I need some, bad for you, comfort food that I rarely eat. 😎 It stopped thundering and pouring out, the sun came out so I need to get up there before the next storm moves in.

Maybe tomorrow there will be some reporting on Milo’s visit to Chicago. Hope it’s good and no Antifa. This world is turned upside down.

Later my friend. Stay out of trouble.✌️

          • David Watts

“did you make a political comment on Facebook?” Yes, that was probably a boo boo move. I dared to say something less than flattering about Michelle Obama vs. Melania Trump. O well… 😉

“When a country is sticking to a deal made by the US and other countries, why would you punish them with sanctions for it.” I have no clue, he’s trying to suck up to Israel? They probably think no amount of sanctions are enough. “Is this all about North Korea?” It’s really the only answer I can think of (actually, you thought of it, lol) that might fit, if NK and Iran are allies and trade freely. Trump just slapped a whole new set of sanctions on NK, maybe he thinks it’s not enough, and they need to suffer more. There’s no way I can read Trump’s mind or predict his actions; he’s the very definition of Mercurial. That’s supposed to be the domain of us Virgos! 😀

Here’s a meme that may cheer you up about Trump, not that I want to change your mind one way or the other, but I liked it:

            https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/93feb530f950f410e489ca22fd66a4fd05567e0ae33f640210e0d9c3029b3c65.jpg

“”An administration official” said that no difference existed between the president’s views and those of his secretary of defense on the Iran deal.” I didn’t realize it was an NYT article (the one you linked to about Mattis) til that came up. They LOVE the unnamed source, don’t they? Those always jump out at me. Unnamed source = NYT writer in cubicle, IMO. See: Jayson Blair.

“Mr. Trump must make that decision anew by Oct. 15. ” So, we’ll find out then, I guess, but the article did say that Congress can uphold the treaty as is even so, I would assume for a set time before it expires (post the 15th.)

““But when America gives her word, we have to live up to it and work with our allies.”” (Mattis.)

I love this guy. Trump needs to unclog his ears and listen, or as Melania once said: “You need to LEARN.”

also from the article: “Inside the Pentagon, Mr. Mattis and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., have told aides they are worried that abandoning the Iran deal could make it harder to convince North Korea that the United States would stick with any diplomatic agreement it might be able to reach to head off — or at least pause — the growing confrontation.”

Sorry to quote such a lengthy bit. It SOUNDS likely, but once again we have this “told aides.” bit. Will the NYT cut that stuff out? Name sources, please. If I see uncredited sources, I tend to throw that section of the article in the bin. You and I trade many articles, from many sources, to and fro here, and NONE have the amount of unnamed sources this one NYT article has. The difference is palpable. Red State, USA Supreme, etc., NONE of them would write an article this way, it makes it a frustrating read, cos I am interested…

“On the campaign trail, Mr. Trump repeatedly threatened to tear up the deal, and negotiate a better one. In August, Mr. Trump also said that Iran is “not in compliance with the agreement and they certainly are not in the spirit of the agreement in compliance.”” Maybe Trump is merely trying to live up to a campaign promise here, as you say, but does he have to now? There’s obviously disagreement between the State Dept. and The White House as to whether or not Iran is in full compliance of the treaty as is. Is Trump splitting hairs when he says that although they are in compliance with the non-development of nukes part of the treaty, they aren’t complying with the ‘spirit of the treaty’ by conducting ballistic missile tests and giving support to Shiite Muslim groups outside of Iran? I’d think the nuclear development program was the important part, and ‘tearing up’ the treaty on lesser infractions is petty. Or grandstanding. Or I don’t know what. Also, unless the treaty also prohibited supporting these groups as part of the original deal, or doing these tests, Trump is just reaching. It probably appears to Iran as if he’s moving the goalposts on them.

I accidentally typoed ‘Trumpo,” there which made me laugh…

Thanks also for the Newsweek article. Better attribution than the NYT, for sure… but all the people they talked to were former Obama administration officials! Of course they’re going to put everything in the most negative light possible. Wendy Sherman, et al, they are all Obama-ites…

“Stocks plunging?” I’m ON the Market, it’s what I do. Insurance stocks aren’t plunging, or rather, half are and half aren’t, strangely, Usually, that’s a sector that rises and falls as one. You’re right that he shouldn’t be crowing about the potential, though. What he should crow about is this unprecedented bull market. or maybe it’s all “Fearless Girl’s” fault, lol? One could also say the boom dates from the day of her installation, if one were superstitious. And the Market is, totally.

“The people that make too much to be put on medicaid and not enough to afford insurance will be.” Yeah, I misread the article on that point, not as good as I thought. Thanks for the clarification.

After all that, the Japan Times article wouldn’t load, sorry. “I need some, bad for you, comfort food that I rarely eat. 😎” Once in a while: it’s needed.

            talk later, good night! 🌛

          • January

“Yes, that was probably a boo boo move.” I avoid those boo boos. I have too many right & left friends. I did speak up about the Jones Act with Puerto Rico and only those that agreed with me replied, the others stayed silent, like I do with their stuff. During the campaign, the kids and I went to the Wisconsin State Fair, they took a picture of me in front of the full size poster of Hillary, giving her the finger 🖕 and when doing the same to a full size poster of Trump. I posted both of those pictures on FB, lost one friend who was a Trump supporter. Oh well. I don’t know what her problem was, I gave equal time to both candidates. 😄

“I have no clue, he’s trying to suck up to Israel?” Probably that, keeping a campaign promise and Obama along with grandstanding. You have Mattis saying they are in compliance and you have the UN inspectors along with our once, allies saying the same thing. I can’t cut him any slack on this one. He’s had a bug up his butt about Obama from way back when Hillary ran against him and lost. He had been a big supporter of her and when Obama named Biden as his running mate, I remember Trump was making an issue that he didn’t pick Hillary instead. Then the birth certificate thing started. He just wasn’t letting it go. At that time I watched The View, he was on there and keep on about the birth certificate. I was so tired of it, I turned the channel. Trump was a big supporter of the Democrats up to 2008 but he still supported Hillary in that race. Remember when I said he ran to help Hillary win, that is one of the reasons why I think he did. I still don’t think he believed the people would take him serious but he could do enough damage to the rest of the Republican candidates and Hillary would win but the tide was changing and he saw a chance that he could win and went for it and turned on her to do it. They had been friends up until that time.

I do like Mattis. IMO, at times, when these papers write about things going on that aides have told them, I believe at times, it’s the Government pushing that stuff out, a game with them to get things out that are going on without taking somebody down for saying it. All the news reportings do it, left & right. I will say though, the NYT and WaPo pushed the Russian agenda with some made up stories. Allen West was a big one for using “Anonymous” along with other right reportings. Red State, I took a break from them for awhile. There was one article that they said, when Rep. Luis Gutierrez went to Puerto Rico he told the mayor of San Juan to go against Trump and be with the Democrats, so she put that tweet out that riled up Trump. Her tweet came out around 3 days before he went to Puerto Rico. There was another article I caught them on something, I can’t remember what it was, but I decided to stop for awhile with them.

“I’m ON the Market, it’s what I do. Insurance stocks aren’t plunging, or rather, half are and half aren’t, strangely, Usually, that’s a sector that rises and falls as one.” That’s interesting. This is what bothers me, why lie about it? He is only putting fear into people and others, he’s turning them against them. He is creating a division. Just like with the NFL, and I’m sick and tired of the postings on this. All these people that are complaining about, do they stand when they are at home, sitting on their couches, laughing and drinking a beer? No. Also, during the anthem at the games, when the players kneel, some of the fans are swearing and yelling at them. They aren’t respecting the anthem either. Then his campaign against NBC saying their license should be revoked and how he only wants Fox News in all Federal Building and NBC removed. There is a fine line there. He is Government and Government is not to make any laws that infringe on the free press. That scares people. He is his own worst enemy. All these people he has gone after, he turns his support base against them, but what he doesn’t realize is, a lot of them are turning against him. I know I’m beating up on him but I think I’m also beating up on myself because I’m walking a line that I just about have one foot over and crossing. Right now there is only one person in government I trust and that’s Senator Durbin. I know he’s a Democrat but I’ve known him for years. I’ll admit, we’ve been doing emailing back and forth, he also does know I am still a Republican. After the holidays, when he is going to be in his office in Chicago, I want to get an appointment with him to sit down and talk. Mainly about the candidates running for Governor here. Chris Kennedy is my guy. Rauner needs to go and actually, he use to be a Democrat before he ran for office on the Republican ticket.

The chart you sent, yes I agree with that but it’s his mouth or should I say fingers (Tweets), that I don’t trust. Trumpo 😅

The Japan news reporting: Basically they talked about SK saying that 3 long range missiles have been set up in 3 different locations for testing. But Japan and SK are worried about what KJU is going to do with Guam.

BTW, the chips and dip were good. We had thunder storm after thunder storm all day yesterday. Got over 4″ of rain. Late last night, between storms, I let the dogs out for the last time. 2 dogs go out, 2 dogs come in along with a baby frog. 🐸 I tried to catch the frog to put him back out and he hopped away. I looked all over and couldn’t find him. 1/2 hour later, there I see him sitting in front of the front door waiting to go out. I opened the door and out he went. I was more worried my dogs would get him. Guess he wanted to come in and dry off a little. We were under flash flood warnings but I’m 2 miles from the one river so wasn’t worried about. People living along the river are flooded.

Ok this is long and I need to get going. Hope your Sunday is going well. Sorry if I beat up on Trump too much. I wish I could put a sock in his mouth, at times, and cancel his twitter account. 👩‍🔧

Sorry for the late reply, I’m kind of having a bad day. 🙁

“I do like Mattis.” Me too. A proper, serious figure. Unlike Trump, you never sense any petulance from him, or a sense of him doing things simply out of ego-enrichment.

“All these people that are complaining about, do they stand when they are at home, sitting on their couches, laughing and drinking a beer? ” That’s a great point. I think, in the long run, it’s less about standing for the anthem, and more about being told how and what to think by overpaid jocks. But that’s sort of subtle, so it’s easier to just point at the flag and say that’s what you’re defending.

This is odd — the last 2 links you’ve put, the end gets cut off and there’s just an ellipsis (see above). So I can’t get your links to work cos I don’t have the full address for the page you’re sending me to.

“2 dogs go out, 2 dogs come in along with a baby frog. 🐸 …1/2 hour later, there I see him sitting in front of the front door waiting to go out.” Ha, I like this story. The frogger was patient and knew how to get out. It was probably all planned out, this is one smart frog. That’s how he avoids dogs too…lol. This frog is probably just a representative of Kekistan, making the rounds…

“Sorry if I beat up on Trump too much.” That’s ok. I still have good feeling about him, I couldn’t even tell you why, Maybe I’ll bash him too at some point… lol

later, sorry about the shortness of this… take care. 🙂

I think I figured out why you couldn’t open the last two links. The first posting I forgot to removed the period and write dot. So I had to go back and copy all I wrote and repost it. The same with the 2nd one. I’m thinking for some reason when I did that, it deleted off the end of the address. I’m going to put a link here for for Newsweek and see what happens. It’s an older one and I can’t find the one I originally posted.

            newsweekpakistan(dot)com/nuclear-accord-with-iran-in-u-s-interest-mattis/

I thought it was today that Milo was going to be in Chicago but it’s in November.

All the jocks and movie stars are all overpaid, but that is the fault of all of us that pay the money to either go see a game or a movie. It’s been the demand of the public and the willingness to pay the high prices of the tickets to see the games. You know the old economics, the higher the demand for something, the higher the cost, the lower the demand, the lower the cost. They actually are a market. For sports, we demand good games, pay the price for it, in turn they pay the price for good players. Same for the actors. Actors know if they are pulling in the people for a movie, give me more money. Speaking of movies, I think Friday I am going to the early matinee to see “Boo 2! A Madea Halloween”. I love the Tyler Perry, Madea movies. See I’m willing to pay the high price of a ticket to laugh. Even when any of those movies play on the network channels, I watch them over and over. No matter how many times I sit and watch them, I always laugh.

You need to stick to your convictions. No way would I ever want to change you. I just vent. I am walking that line, one foot on the right and one foot on the left and I’m getting frustrated with that. So, I’m going to direct my attention on the Governor race. Somebody sent me a video of the (4) Candidates being interviewed at one of our colleges. I’m going to list all of them and start researching and making a pro & con list for each. What’s scary is, next year will be the first time I vote Democrat, with the exception of the one City Council member in our town. Also, I will be keeping a watch on any news on NK.

That little frog was so cute, especially when he was just sitting in front of the door to go out.

It’s cold out and I’m going to bed now. You have a good night. Talk later.

I’m on edit. The link posted with all the info. I think it was when I copied and pasted it that the link went away on of them.

          • David Watts

OK, that time the link for Newsweek worked, thanks. 🙂 My thought is: if the original Iran treaty doesn’t say whether or not they can support Shiite Muslim groups, or whether or not they can do ballistic missile tests, they aren’t violating it. Trump can’t readjust the terms at will. Now, if those specific things ARE mentioned, then Iran violated it, and he can de-certify it on the 15th. If I were Iranian, I would find the ‘treaty’ pretty draconian as is, but then again, they haven’t been ‘good actors’ over the years. I hope DJT simply listens to Mattis (everyone else does!) He appointed Mattis for a reason: let him do his job.

“Actors know if they are pulling in the people for a movie, give me more money. ” I don’t really mind the athletes/actors being paid what the movies/games they are in generate in terms of $$$: the money should go to the talent, not the owners. Maybe also the sponsors, lol. IMO, being an athlete, actor, or other public figure doesn’t instantly give you special insights and knowledge on social or political issues. Yes, reporters are dumb enough to ask these people’s opinions, but I don’t find them particularly informed most times. It could be Kaepernick, it could be Ashley Judd: I think they are all out of touch. But by all means: pay them. 🙂

I’ve heard that Tyler Perry is one of the richest men in the U.S.! He must be doing something right.

” No way would I ever want to change you. I just vent. I am walking that line, one foot on the right and one foot on the left and I’m getting frustrated with that.” I got no impression to you were trying to change me, no worries. As far as your feet, lol, it’s always better to decide what you think issue-by-issue, not just blindly follow the party line. We’ve all seen flyers where some local political action committee tells you how to vote on all local propositions. : “If you’re a Republican, vote x, y, and z.” This is a great shortcut to critical thinking for many, I’m sure, but I hate that stuff. You have to decide each thing separately, for they are separate. On some issues I lean left, on some I lean right: following a party line 100% doesn’t agree with me. Admittedly, since being red pilled, I lean mostly Right on most things, lol, but still, I wouldn’t swallow any platform hook, line, and sinker. I find it very hard to identify personally with any politician, as much as they would want us to.

“Also, I will be keeping a watch on any news on NK.” If I see any articles with new info, I will post them here too. To me, this is the top story right now, even more than Iran, and certainly more than the damn NFL.

The wild fires are finally getting more under control, and down here, the air quality is far better now. 🙂

“That little frog was so cute, especially when he was just sitting in front of the door to go out.” 🙂 🐸 looking at his watch… “thanks for letting me in out of the rain, January, but if I don’t leave now, I’ll miss the last bus to Frog City.” 🐸 Frogs are fun….

            stay warm, good night… 🌛✨

          • January

Glad you were able to open it. I think it was the copying and pasting that caused the other’s to lose part of the address and I never checked it out.

I was reading an article last night and a comment popped out at me. I can’t find it this morning. I forgot what I searched for and didn’t bookmark it. Food for thought: The Iran Deal and the Healthcare issue, are those to be used so he can get his funding for the wall? In other words, “if you give me funding for the wall, I’ll stick to the Iran Deal and put the subsidies back on the healthcare.” Remember, Trump ran Corporations and knows how to wheel and deal. It’s a typical ‘blackmail’ game that I’ve seen Corps play. I would still be very surprised if he does get the funding for the wall.

I’m still a little concerned about Trump’s tax plan and have been going out and studying up on this one. Sure it’ll put more money in our pockets and people will spend more BUT it will also add trillions to the debt over the years and actually slow down the economy growth. Here’s some issues with it. It eliminates the deduction for state and local taxes, which will hurt about 40 million people living in high tax states, such as California, Illinois & New York. It eliminates personal exemptions, which means families with many children would pay higher taxes despite the increased standard deductions. It lowers the maximum tax rate for small businesses to 25 percent. That includes sole proprietorships, partnerships and S corporations. Many of those are real estate companies, hedge funds and private equity funds. As a result, 85 percent of the tax cut benefits the top 1 percent of earners. That’s because most mom-and-pop small business don’t earn enough to qualify for the top tax rate. Which means they won’t benefit from the cut. There is a lot more that I have made notes on.

Here’s another one: It eliminates the estate tax and the generation-skipping transfer tax. That would help the top 1 percent of the population who pay it, and that’s 4,918 tax returns who contribute $17 billion in taxes. Trump would keep the inheritance tax for capital gains. But even that would be excluded if the heirs never sold the property. For example, children who inherit their father’s real estate holdings wouldn’t be taxed as long as they never sold them. They could still extract the value by borrowing against the holdings.

We are over $20 trillion in debt, and the deficit is growing. The Government is spending more than what money is coming in right now. We are now under the treat of another war, which will put a big hit on the budget, it already is. Then you bring in these natural disasters we are having. All the hurricanes and fires. Congress, first, needs to come up with a plan to stop all the wasteful spending and work on that debt. IMO.

Here’s a little trivia for you: Did you know when the unemployment rate falls below 5%, as it has, except two months since January 2016, a recession usually follows within the next two or three years? Start putting your money in a sock. lol

Tyler Perry is awesome. His movies, like Madea, are funny but there is always a moral to the story. He wanted to stop the Madea movies but he said the fans won’t let him. She just keeps going.

Excuse this: People just need to STHU about the NFL and worry more about a nuke landing on their heads.

I heard on the news last night that they were getting the fires more under control. It’s still sad at the amount of people who lost their lives, missing and all the destruction.

You should see the Bull Frogs we have in the lake. YUUUG!!! I also get this tiny, tiny little green tree frogs, where a couple will cling on to my living room windows in the summer. It’s amazing how they cling to the glass. We get a lot of wild life here. The other night, when it was warm, I let the dogs out and the smell. All I can say is something ticked off a skunk in the woods.

Ok, I’m complained enough. Time to get some more work done around here. Talk later.

          • David Watts

“if you give me funding for the wall, I’ll stick to the Iran Deal and put the subsidies back on the healthcare.” What, like a trade-off? What they call a quid pro quo. It could be. You were right about that ‘wall’ picture: that was just one of several prototypes they are looking at here in Cali, not actual construction beginning on an actual wall or anything.

“Trump would keep the inheritance tax for capital gains. But even that would be excluded if the heirs never sold the property.” Here’s a subject I know a little about. The thing is, only a few states even have an inheritance tax right now (Cali doesn’t, NY does.) So, he’d just be streamlining it so there was no variance state-to-state… I think.

“They could still extract the value by borrowing against the holdings.” Yes… but that’s always a bad idea, as you’ll be paying it off forever.

“Excuse this: People just need to STHU about the NFL and worry more about a nuke landing on their heads.” I agree. It’s taking up too much time and space in the news, on FB, and elsewhere, compared to something more important. protest or no protest, it’s only football. Come on, people…

“It’s amazing how they cling to the glass.” 🐸💗 We don’t get any froggers around here… we do get rats, though.

            Later!

” What, like a trade-off? What they call a quid pro quo. It could be.” yes & yes.

“You were right about that ‘wall’ picture:” I know I was. I’m always right, even when I wrong, I right. 😉

“The thing is, only a few states even have an inheritance tax right now (Cali doesn’t, NY does.)”, Not talking state level taxes. IRS level. I understand what they are talking about but trying to find a good example that would help explain it.

NFL: Yeah, it came up today in Trump’s news conference, started by a reporter and he had his say again.

If you get a chance, watch a video of Trump & McConnell during the interview/speech. Listen to Trump’s words but watch McConnell’s face when they talk about Russia. There is a video on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and the video is called #Free McConnell. The poor guy looks almost terrified. The camera man did a close up of his face. I pulled it up in Facebook. I didn’t know if I should laugh or feel sorry for him.

We don’t get any rats by me just little mice. Chicago, in some areas, is over run with rats. The four legged and two legged kind.

You have a good night my friend. I’m going to bed early. Talk later.

OMG!!! An illegal immigrant, started a fire that ended up killing 40 people, destroying thousands of buildings, people without gas & electric, which this is going to cost a lot of money. Insurance Company, People out of Pocket and the State, and the ACLU is more worried about ICE and the state will still continue being a sanctuary state and the hell with their own citizens. If these states & cities want to give sanctuary places, then they damn well should be finding places for them to stay. To be honest with you, I wouldn’t deport him, I’d put him in prison the rest of his life for murder and arson. He gets deported, he’ll come right back again and at least in prison, he’ll have a warm place to stay. But the SOB will probably be set free some how thanks to the crooked ACLU. If I was one of those people, who lost a family member and everything else, I would try and get everybody together and go after the state and raise hell. Your Governor Moonbean can take the blame for this also. I’m so sorry.

I watch American Horror Story, tonight’s show, Lena Dunham is on it. Damn is she ugly. She has a weird voice also. Her part is male bashing, of course it is. lol They went back in history and she’s playing the Zodiac killer. A group of women are really the Zodiac killer. Perfect role for her.

I have to tell you this and say I’m sorry. I’m done with Trump. I’ve brought the other foot over the line today after hearing all the news. You know I’ve had my complaints about the things Obama did while in office and that still hasn’t changed. Right now I am going to defend Obama against what Trump said about him not making calls to the family’s that lost somebody in combat, or any other Presidents. They played what he said and I played it back a couple times to make sure I heard correct. Then they played a video of the Bitch Sarah Huckabee saying that the guy that said Obama did call the families was a false statement. I really lost it because I know for a fact Obama called the families of the fallen. One of my neighbors down the road lost their son and the day after the military came to their door to tell them, Obama called them. The highway across the lake from me, is the main one to get into our area. I watched a procession from my deck bringing a fallen soldier home for burial. I knew when they were coming because I could hear the roar of the bikes from a distance. There had to be over 100 bikes leading and flags were flying from the bikes. I also remember, seeing on the news, when Bush was in office, he was attending a military funeral and holding the crying brother in his arms. Trump lied and upset Gold Star Families with it. I don’t know what Trump’s problem is with Obama BUT he has had a vendetta against him since 2009. I’m sorry David, I’m done but I promise you I won’t do Trump bashing to you. That wouldn’t be right. Welllllll, the one exception will be if he gets us in a war with NK. That doesn’t mean we can’t discuss issues going on, but when I don’t use the Trump name, you’ll know why. I could say more about him, about all of this because I am very angry but I won’t do that for your sake.

There was one other procession in 2011, where they brought home for burial, a soldier that was killed in the Korean War. North Korea had turned over 17 boxes of remains about 20 years ago, and the military had gathered a lot of DNA from existing family members of the POWs a few years before 2011. They finally found his surviving sister that lives in our county and she had him buried here. It’s a pretty busy four lane highway across there and the people just stopped their cars until they passed by. Both times.

I heard something about Raqqa but I didn’t look into it today. I will tomorrow. Today was not a good day.

It’s late and I guess I had better get to bed. You have a good night my friend and talk later. 🙂

          • David Watts

“the state will still continue being a sanctuary state and the hell with their own citizens.” That’s exactly it. They really just want people here who will vote dem: illegals, dead voters, and here’s a new twist Moonbeam came up with today:

            sacramento.cbslocal(dot)com/2016/09/28/gov-brown-signs-bill-allowing-felons-to-vote-in-jail/

There is actually a movement on now to recall Gov. Brown, I’m not kidding. It it gets to the voting stage, you know how I’ll vote. If there’s a way to contribute $$$ to this recall campaign, I’ll do that also. The feeling of being held hostage by one’s own local government is truly sickening. It’s like you said about conservatives voting in Illinois: the machine rolls on, and your votes seem wasted… 🙁

” Your Governor Moonbean can take the blame for this also. I’m so sorry.” Well-said, and thank you. To think this huge disastrous fire didn’t have to happen in the first place is … deplorable. To coin a phrase. 😉

“Lena Dunham is on it. Damn is she ugly. She has a weird voice also.” 😅😅😅It’s funny cos it’s true. Whenever Dunham’s name is mentioned, I always say the same thing: “I’d swear I went to high school with that guy!” And she does look just like this guy I went to school with. and he wasn’t particularly effeminate, either. To see what all the fuss was about Dunham, I actually watched the first episode of her HBO show, “Girls.” First of all, the other women on the show were fairly plain too, but they all looked like goddesses next to Lena. The funniest thing was their boyfriends (well one was a lesbian, but the ones that had boyfriends) : the guys all looked like male models, 0% body fat, perfect hair, perfect faces, and all were very deferential and almost subservient to their girlfriends. Lena’s BF looked like Keanu Reeves. Would this happen in real life? It’s like Dunham’s fantasies put on film, and they are no more appealing than she is. Hoo ha… 😅 Zodiac killer? Excellent casting, as you say…

Trumpo: I respect your opinion, just don’t bash too hard, ok? And I won’t crow or use phrases like “God Emperor.” lol Deal? 🙂 He’s been president 9 months, it’s not like you haven’t had time to check him out and decide what you think about him. The stuff about veterans and Obama did seem very petty, but he is petty. “I know for a fact Obama called the families of the fallen.” That’s true: Obama did. Really, the only thing I took offense to there was your description of the Ruler Of My Heart, Sarah ‘Superfine’ Huckabee Saunders. 😉 ♥️

Here was an informative update on NK:

            nypost(dot)com/2017/10/17/united-states-prepares-for-the-worst-with-north-korea

good night and try to find a smile somewhere… perhaps your froggy friend will visit again. 🐸

          • January

“There is actually a movement on now to recall Gov. Brown, I’m not kidding.” He should be removed. He has done nothing but damage your state. Yes, I know how you’ll vote and I hope millions more vote just like you do. He is to blame for that fire, even though he didn’t strike the match. The one story that sticks with me is the couple in the pool, where the wife died in her husband’s arms. I can’t even fathom it. The good one was where the dog came out of the fire to his owner. Wasn’t there also another couple that went to their neighbors pool and survived? But, at the same time, NOBODY should have died or lost everything. I’ve been reading that around the world there have been an unusual amount of fires and not just little ones. Spain is having a good size one that somebody I’m friends with that lives there posted.

“I’d swear I went to high school with that guy!” That is too funny. When she first appeared last night, I thought it was a guy. Then about 3 to 5 minutes after the show started, I see her name scroll up. They went back in time, as you know with the Zodiac killer and had Andy Warhol in there just starting out. She was fighting with him and at the end, he pretty much killed her off. I’m thinking, thank you, I don’t have to see her again, hopefully they don’t drag her back next week. I have to say when I watch that show, there are times I have my hand covering my eyes. lol But to put Lena Dunham on there, please!!! She really is a man hater. She needs to go to a speech therapist to change her voice. It just grated on me. ugh.

“Trumpo: I respect your opinion, just don’t bash too hard, ok? And I won’t crow or use phrases like “God Emperor.” lol Deal? 🙂 I wouldn’t do that to you. I respect you too much. You like and I don’t, anymore. I hate when people fight each other for who they like.

“the only thing I took offense to there was your description of the Ruler Of My Heart, Sarah ‘Superfine’ Huckabee Saunders. 😉 ♥️” OK, I’m going to speak to you like a mother right now. Seriously, what are you thinking???? 😅 BTW, with that comment, aren’t you cheating on Kate Winslet??? hmmmmm, answer that one. I’m taking back the “bitch” name because she doesn’t belong to the secret “BITCH CLUB” that I belong to. True club. The last company I worked for, a bunch of us had a secret club with that name. I was the Princess Bitch and we were very select on who we would allow in it. I’m not kidding. I’ll call Sarah a “twit” then. I better explain that. I feel sorry for anybody who takes that position because they pretty much, are only saying what they are told to say and take a lot of heat for it. Trust me, depending who is the White House Press Secretary, I knock down them down on both sides. They represent the old saying, “Damned if you do and damned if you don’t”, you’re liked by 1/2 the country and hated by the other 1/2. You should have heard what I called Sean Spicer, and that’s when I was still on that side. Didn’t have time to make anything up on Scaramucci, he was here one day and gone the next. Guess the poor guy made the mistake of using the revolving door to enter and took the wrong exit.

That link on NK is very interesting. I hope they continue with the talks. Funny, I had a dream last night that NK sent a missile over here and it hit Alaska, but Alaska was located where New York is. I wasn’t there in the state but I saw the missile being launched, flying over the water and hitting. I woke up and was glad because it was so real. Not one of those crazy dreams you have, other than New York being called Alaska. Watching American Horror Story just before going to bed, you think I would have dreamt about the Zodiac killer or a nightmare about Lena Dunham 🚫, and that would have been a nightmare.

I’m smiling today. That was yesterday, this is today which is a new day. You have a good day. Talk later my friend. 😃

“He is to blame for that fire, even though he didn’t strike the match. ” I agree, and I’d go further, since I live here: I’d say he’s responsible for many crimes committed by illegals, and will continue to be as long as he and his henchman Becerra keep up this Sanctuary State nonsense. And now he wants prisoners to have the vote. Moonbeam may be on of my least favorite politicians, and I’m talking world-wide. Him and KJU, lol.

“When she first appeared last night, I thought it was a guy.” I mean to tell you! I wonder if she affects that look intentionally? If we’re both seeing it? So, in this show, Andy Warhol knocks off Lena Dunham? This sounds like a great show!

“Seriously, what are you thinking???? 😅” Well, I was kind of kidding. 😉 That is a thankless job. As you say, they just have to mouth whatever lies, erm, copy the administration tells them to, and they are not allowed to vary from the text. When a president is particularly embattled, like now, it’s twice as hard. I remember Ron Ziegler, who was Press Officer for Nixon, and every day he had to go out there and say pretty outrageous things — as he was told to do. I wouldn’t want the job. Obviously, DJT likes having sort of spiky people in this role: hence Scaramucci, although he was *too* spiky… lol.

“I woke up and was glad because it was so real.” That sounds pretty bad, mostly because it didn’t seem like a dream. Hopefully we don’t have to see that actually happen.

“I’m smiling today. That was yesterday, this is today which is a new day.” This is the perfect attitude to have, IMO. May the smiles continue… later! 😃

“I’d say he’s responsible for many crimes committed by illegals, and will continue to be as long as he and his henchman Becerra keep up this Sanctuary State”. What amazes me is these crimes go on and they still support the illegals. If they have committed a crime, especially a violent crime, why protect them? You and I would be in jail. Speaking of jail, I read that article. I’m mixed on it. Part of me feels, they need to finish their sentence, even if they are on parole before allowed to vote. The other part of me feels that giving them their voting rights while on parole may help them rehabilitate. But then again, why were they in prison? Are some of these people put in because of the drug laws that Clinton put up and weren’t violent and some went to prison for pot, which is becoming more legal now? I understand where you are coming from and the bigger part of me is where you are at. If Calif passes that law, other blue states will eventually follow. NY and ILL will probably be the two to follow. Give me more information on you thinking on it and why you are against it. That would be a great discussion.

Lena Dunham is playing the part of Valerie Solanas who had shot Andy Warhol in 1968. They recreate the shooting for the show. At first they thought he was dead but as we know, he survived. She was in a mental hospital and later released and died of pneumonia. So they have her creating the Zodiac killer for this show. Later in the show, she is out of the mental and on a man killing spree as the man killer. It was actually his desk that killed her in the end. She was going after him, tripped and hit her head on small side table next to the desk. But he actually was an image in her mental mind. It was funny. Won’t have to hear her voice on this show anymore. Thank you thank you thank you, writers.

“Well, I was kind of kidding, although Sarah’s wonky eye is alluring…. 😉 “, I kind of thought you were, so I had to give you some,,,,you know what,,,over it. Scaramucci was a little over board there. The White House is one place I always said I would never want to work at. Too many scandals and hate going on over the years. Of course, I’d be the one who got tired of it all, from both sides, and leak to all the news media.

The dream seem to only last a minute. I think I was starting to wake up when it happened. It was so real and bothered me all day. So on a lighter note: if it happens, you heard it first here. Come to think of it, that comment isn’t even funny especially with the threat hanging over all of us with the US and NK. Hey, maybe it’s a good sign that nothing is going to happen.

I have to go to bed now. Getting up early to drive over and get Austin off to school. His mom has to go into work early. So I will talk to you later my friend. You have a good night. 🙂

“Give me more information on you thinking on it and why you are against it. ” First of all, I am against it because I don’t think that prisoners should have the same rights inside as they do outside — that could also be seen as encouragement to rehabilitate. But it’s not whether or not felons vote that really bothers me — it’s why Gov. Moonie wants to pass this. If he thought the majority of them would vote conservative, do you think he would be for this? It’s so craven and blatant, IMO. The dems, even here in Cali, know they are sinking like a stone, and they want to winnow votes out of every nook and cranny — legality is not necessarily a concern. Hence their hatred of Voter ID laws, etc.

Lena Dunham as Valerie Solannas? That’s great casting, except the real Val was a lot tougher than Lena can probably convey. I am a big fan of the whole ‘pop art’ scene, so I know a lot of the background there. There is a whole movie about her, “I Shot Andy Warhol,” with Lilly Taylor. Unlike Lena, this is a serious actress…

“I’d be the one who got tired of it all, from both sides, and leak to all the news media.” YOU?!?!? An eville leaker person? Perish the thought! Then again, it would be a terrible job; they must really want to do it. Speaking of leaks, they are one reason why I don’t believe in conspiracies. EVERYone leaks, and that could sort of harm a conspiracy…

This page is slowing down at last… time to find another?

            Later…

          • January

“First of all, I am against it because I don’t think that prisoners should have the same rights inside as they do outside — that could also be seen as encouragement to rehabilitate.” I’m sorry, I mis-read it and thought he was talking about people on parole. No, they shouldn’t have voting rights while in prison. You lose all your rights while you are in prison, you are not rewarded for being there. It’s not like they went to summer camp. Is Cali getting bad for the Dems? I hope so because your state really needs a change. Mine is very close behind. It’s funny, our state doesn’t require voter ID, but the townshipI I live in, when going to vote, they have my address, once they find it on their sheet, then they ask to see ID. It’s been that way since I lived here. Maybe it’s our township rule. I hope your Governor Moonbean gets recalled or voted out next time.

“That’s great casting, except the real Val was a lot tougher than Lena can probably convey.” I looked up the real Val and though, Dunham is nothing like her. In fact I though she was a joke playing her and made her look like a complete moron/stupid acting. I’ve never seen Dunham in anything until this show and hope I never do again. Her voice is just irritating.

“YOU?!?!? An eville leaker person?” Yep, that would be me. See, I would do the Mission Impossible and have a face made up to look like, Sarah Huckabee Saunders, so I could use her computer when she wasn’t around and make it look like she sent it. Damn, I am evil, or I just read to many James Patterson & Lisa Jackson books, or maybe both.

Tomorrow the vacuum is going to be sitting out. It’s going to be warm the next couple days and I’ll have the windows down and guess what will be coming in. Yep, they’re lined up on the moldings of the screens in the dining room and living room. That’s where those stink bugs are coming in at. I watched one flatten himself and come up between the screen and the window.

Better get some work done here. Hope your day is going good. Talk later my friend.

” Is Cali getting bad for the Dems? I hope so because your state really needs a change. ” I hope so. I never get that impression, but when you see the desperate measures local Dems are using to generate votes, bordering on the pathetic, I begin to wonder if they have been getting some stats or poll numbers that are causing alarm. Good. Why would any working class person, of any color, be supportive of a “Sanctuary State?” Moonie & friends are really putting a lot of eggs in that basket, and the public knows those eggs are rotten…

“I hope your Governor Moonbean gets recalled or voted out next time.” Me too. Ha, I like that typo: “Moonbean.” Beans grown by the light of the moon are amazingly lacking in nutritional value… and the governor is lacking in ANY value.

“In fact I though she was a joke playing her and made her look like a complete moron/stupid acting.” Yeah, for an actor/writer Dunham doesn’t seem very good at either. And, as a person… I don’t have much good to say about her, either.

“”See, I would do the Mission Impossible and have a face made up to look like, Sarah Huckabee Saunders, so I could use her computer when she wasn’t around and make it look like she sent it” Ha, one of those masks that make you look just like a famous actor… lol. If you can make one eye go sideways, you might be able to fool people that you’re Sarah S…. but that’s a trick maybe only she and her Dad have perfected. 😉

“guess what will be coming in. Yep, they’re lined up on the moldings of the screens ” They really love you, don’t they? Buggs are always so proprietary: but it’s YOUR house, not a bug house.

            more to come… later! 🙂

          • January

I’m sorry. I came out here this morning, had to close down to go somewhere and just got back.

“Moonie & friends are really putting a lot of eggs in that basket, and the public knows those eggs are rotten…”, All I can say is you will know that answer in 2018. In today’s times, people aren’t as loyal to a party as they use to be. I would have never thought I would leave the Republican Party, but I did. I’m actually going Independent. I surprised myself when I wasn’t loyal to the party last year and did a write in vote. I shocked a few family members with that one. I have 42 cousins, both sides of my family combined. Yeah it’s a large family. Of course, both parties have seem to have big changes within themselves also. In your state, you could be surprised at what happens in 2018. After all, you guys had those fire and that major one started by an illegal. My state will never change unless 80/90% of the Democrats move out of Chicago and the state itself.

Moonbean, yeah, I started that name on purpose. I changed it to “bean” because he made me think of Mr. Bean. lol But I do like your comment about beans grown by the moon.

As for Dunham, I was looking at what shows she played in and wasn’t impressed with any of them. She’s more of “B” or even “C” actress and the older she gets, the less roles she’ll get. You take top actresses like, Kate Winslet, Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett and so on, who not only have the looks but can act. Look at Helen Mirren, she’s 72 years old, still courage, still has that sex appeal and can act. Dunham isn’t anywhere near that class of women and is just a loud mouth, man hater and one day a has been. Then you have Bette Davis, now she wasn’t that beautiful, but she had that cute face with sex appeal and could act her way out of paper bag. I love to watch her old movies, along with a lot of others. Kathryn Hepburn, was all that pretty, but again she had that appeal along with a great actress. Dunham just has that big mouth that feminist like and that will go away with the feminist one day.

“If you can make one eye go sideways,” that could be done with a contact lens 😵 that can be controlled by the movement of my own eye. Problem solved. I would either have to put on a little more weight or I could just pad my clothes. Did I miss anything? I really could be evil if I only knew how to hack a computer. Oh wait, they do have devices I could plug into her’s and have somebody on the outside get me into it. Hmmmmmmm I’ll have to think about this one. Sounds like a plot for a book.

So far no stink bugs. It got really cold last night. I even heard the furnace kick on once. I think it dropped down into the low 40s. It got warm today but I didn’t see any out there. Maybe they went next door to my only close neighbor. Now if they would show up with rent money, I’d invite them in, collect the rent, then vacuum them up. 🙃

Tomorrow I’m leaving early to go into the city. It’s going to be in the high 70s, so we are going. Hope the River Taxi’s 🚤 are running since it’s going to be warm. If they are, we’re going to take one over to Navy Pier, otherwise a cab. I’ll be back home between 5 or 7, depending on what train we come back on. 🚂

I better get going. You have a good night and a Good Saturday. Talk later my friend. 🙂

My other reply is a LONG one.

          • David Watts

I tried to reply to that other post, just as you removed it! I guess you had a reason. Here was my reply, anyway:

Thanks for explaining about Job. Also your back story is interesting. You have been lucky with jobs! Me, not so much, but I have been lucky with money (and in nothing else.)

“I will admit I pray for you and that I will meet you one day up there.” Thanks for the vote of confidence — I hope I am there and not elsewhere. 😀

          • January

Trying to shorten it. I thought you didn’t see it. You’re other response was made 3 hours before I wrote and your other response didn’t show up until I wrote it and hit post. I was going to mention Job on my last response and forgot.

The jobs I had, I always had to use that investigative mind of mine. With emissions, I was able to see the whole picture, if we did some thing one way, what all would that effect. That was the same when I became a Corporate Trainer. I worked very close with our IS Dept. Any change, no matter how little, I was the one that would be done there testing it and seeing what departments it would effect and what wouldn’t work right. I’ve very detailed. For money, I’ve always had enough to take care of me to live on and spend some on the kids. I’m not rich & I’m not poor. I just love living the simple life.

“I hope I am there and not elsewhere.” I have the faith for both of us that you will be. ????

          • January

            I forgot about Job.
“Still the involvement of Satan is disturbing… there needs to be separation!” Satan is a fallen angel. God gave us free will to do what we wanted, he gave us Commandments to live by and it is up to us to do right or wrong, believe or not believe. In the end their are consequences for us for our choices and our deeds. Satan before he fell, wanted God to demand that we follow him and not give us free will. Satan is disturbing but he is the evil one. God kicked him out of Heaven and a few angels followed Satan. Those angels are now dead and Satan lives on. God & Satan do talk in places in the Bible.

Job was very dedicated to God and one of the perfect followers which Satan didn’t like. That why God let him do the bad things he did to Job. It wasn’t to hurt Job but a lesson to Satan. The lesson was, you cannot turn my strong followers against me, no matter what you do. He showed Satan that he was the loser. Satan’s time will come to an end and he knows it. Job was made wealthier, had more children and lived to be very old. There are times we do suffer with things, not as bad as Job, but we stay strong in our faith and better things come along. An example: you have a job and for some unknown reason you lose it, there is a reason for it, something better is coming your way. Years ago I got laid off from a job, ok my husband made good money so I collected unemployment and took my time finding another one. I found a really good job working with in the International division of the Corp., 4 years later, they moved the international to Latin America. I reported to one of the big bosses and one day, he got laid off, then I got called into the conference room and I knew I was getting laid off. Now, I started worrying because my husband was no more and I had a mortgage that I had to pay and didn’t know how I was going to manage it. I found out real soon how that would happen. I was given a huge settlement along with a buy out for my position, enough money to pay off my mortgage. I had to sign a non-disclosure to get the money because the company I worked for also created emissions and they were working on a contract with California (yep your state). Even though I was in the International Division I also was on a team that worked on the emission contract and bid that was made to California. In other words, I was given a lot of money to keep my mouth shut and not go to another company that was trying to bid to get the California emissions contract. Went to the bank, deposited the check, wrote a check for the full amount of my mortgage had some money left to pay off my other bills, and two weeks later, rec’d a good size check for the interest from the mortgage that they owed me because I paid it off early. I took the summer off and lived on unemployment, but I did put out my resume and when the fall hit, I was offered a job with a World Wide Corporation. I started at the bottom in one of the departments, 6 months later I was promoted to a position that opened up, 3 months after that, I was promoted again to a position in the same department and when I was at the company for 1 year and 2 months, the top manager of our several department told me to put my bid in for a Corporate Trainer’s position that opened up. I traveled to teach at our various branches, up in Canada, got to go to New Orleans/Baton Rouge to open a new branch and teach, plus a few other states for about 20 years. Eventually I tired out from that and I had enough money that I could retire and just live a very simple life. Doors opened for me big time and I’m very strong in my faith and I credit God with all of it. He opened the doors but it was my job to enter those doors and my job to succeed. I always say thank you to God, for even the littlest things, like getting that darn green left turn arrow in a major busy highway.

Boy you have a lot to read. No way am I trying to preach to you. I’m telling you about me and my faith. I will admit I pray for you and that I will meet you one day up there. When somebody tells me I believe in “fairy tales”. I usually respond with “I’d rather believe in God & Jesus and find out in the end it wasn’t real, then not believe and find out in the end it was real.” I’m sorry, I’m really on a taking thing here. You’re lucky it’s in writing and not in person. At least in writing you can walk away. I’m done.

Hef a hero? I don’t think so. He was a successful entrepreneur and business man but his impact on society will be hotly debated.

  • Hefner was nothing more than a successful pimp, and everyone likes ‘success.’

Porn does hijack your brain, and it is a form of denialism – right in line with neomarxist postmodernism and social constructivism.

‘Hef’ is no one to celebrate, at all.

When ‘porn’ shows what happens after one has sex, au naturel: babies (!), then perhaps there’ll be progress.

Eugenicist Margaret Sanger, who bankrolled the birth control pill, yes she did make it easier to not only cull the poor and the dark skinned via abortion, she also made it easier for women to become professional whores. Oh the wonders of modern medicine.
