A petition has been launched urging the writers of Wonder Woman to make her bisexual in the upcoming sequel.

The Change.org petition titled “Make Wonder Woman Bisexual” has garnered 2,779 supporters as of Friday morning.

The petition was launched on Monday by Gianna Collier-Pitts who works for GLAAD, a GLBT advocacy organization.

According to the petition, Wonder Woman “was a success for everyone… except the bisexual community.”

“The likelihood of Wonder Woman being bisexual has been alluded to over the years, primarily in comics,” the author of the petition wrote. “Wonder Woman’s Diana Prince hails from Themyscira, land of the Amazons and inhabited exclusively by women. This alone should serve as reason enough to confirm her sexuality, since any close relationship she could have had prior to her romantic storyline with Steve Trevor would have had to have been with another woman.”

Greg Rucka, a DC Comics author, said something similar when he told Comicosity the concept of homosexuality “doesn’t exist” in Themyscira, Diana’s home, as there are only women on the island.

“The majority of the LGBTQ+ community identifies as bisexual or as having attraction to more than one gender, and yet it is the least understood of any identity. We are oversexualized and underrepresented,” Gianna Collier-Pitts claims. “We are called greedy, dishonest, and confused. We are the least likely to come out and the most likely to suffer from depression and anxiety, on top of experiencing higher rates of sexual/intimate partner violence.”

“Making Wonder Woman canonically bisexual on the big screen would make her the first openly LGBTQ superhero of any gender from either DC or Marvel’s cinematic universes, and would solidify her place as a true role model for women of all ages and identities,” she adds.

“All I ask is that Warner Bros. directly acknowledge Diana Prince for who she is, who she has always been (regardless of her current love interest), and what her character could potentially represent for millions of people,” she concludes.

This petition is the latest obsession where ‘fans’ have asked to bring sexuality into the storyline of a character.

Last year in May, the #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend hashtag was created in an effort to include a gay love interest for the superhero.

Fans even petitioned for filmmakers to make Elsa, from the Disney animated film Frozen, a lesbian.

  • They ALREADY did this. When she and Steve were talking, she told him, that men were required for procreation, but not for pleasure.

    • Paul

You can’t expect those that created and signed the petition to have watched it. They’re not actual fans, just perpetual whiners. It’s not enough unless she wears an I’m bisexual hat, hits on every man and woman she meets, has onscreen sex with at least two of each gender and says “I’m bisexual” at least once every conversation.

      • NoTreading

        So, basically, they wanted porn?

        • GTKRWN

Basically the Entertainment Jew wants another way to push degeneracy to school children. Subtlety isn’t enough. They want lesbo scissoring on notebooks to make sure that all the little goyim children understand that their little Jew princess is in no way interested in FUCKING WHITE BATMANS.

        • Paul

          It’s not porn it’s R.E.P.R.E.S.E.N.T.A.T.I.O.N. 🙂

          • Hairatic Rick

            L.G.B.PT.R.E.P.R.E.S.E.N.T.A.T.I.O.N ????

Obviously that was not NEARLY enough for them. Unless the entire film is full of this, they will never be satisfied. Why is it that they demand a beloved character be changed, rewritten to their liking? Why can they not create their own character with the attributes they admire? What is so difficult with that? Leave the characters alone and create your own. Why does seemingly everything have to be about sex, politics, etc, etc? It is exhausting trying to keep up with whatever daily grievance is at hand. Good grief, create your own heroes. Stop trying to co-opt the imagination and work done by others for generations as your own.

      • Firefly

Hey, that entire movement has been about co-opting existing things and shaping everything into their own image right from the start. The fact that they’re demanding that every existing major fictional character become a fat black bisexual really shouldn’t be too surprising.

        • Henry

Sadly, I agree with you. I used to enjoy reading them as a kid for the adventures, the good vs evil, the comedy, and how to take care of Sea Monkeys and send away for my X-Ray Specs. As I grew older I really started to appreciate the artwork. Now, I feel a sense of loss that something like comics/graphic novels are becoming nothing more but social justice flavor-of-the-month propaganda.

Because we really need another subdivision of victimhood and why isn’t Wonder Woman also a vegan?

    • MLMII

Although her being bisexual does make a lot of sense considering her lore (And I always felt like she was.) my problem with this nonsense is that there simply isn’t any real reason to bring up her sexuality in detail and going much further than the quip that Cobalt-Blue already mentioned would probably just feel forced to me.

I just hope they keep the sexual tensions between her and Batman in the Justice League movie.

  • Jesse James

All I saw from the title was that a bunch of butch dyke lesbians want to rape wonder woman too. I suspect even gay men would be turned on by such things. LOL

Why would I say the above? Answer: Well, because I’m an evil, straight, white male of course. Don’t all of us terrible and evil oppressors of the low melanin variety all desire to rape and pillage? I’m merely saying you need to respect my culture hypocrites. Because aren’t all cultures equal in the end?

  • Harry Larry

This is so edgey and dumb i going to go sign it

  • Kristen Reck Schulte

Well she’s not real so there’s that

  • Robert A’Beuy

What. Rule34 isn’t enough for them?

  • A V_8000

To be honest I do not really care if she is Gay, Straight, Bi, or otherwise. I have never in my professional life, NEEDED to know that personal information about someone, to respect their ability, impact or their ability to inspire. I love Wonder Woman for her sense of Right and wrong, her adherence to her values. The fact that she would easily kill Superman. She is a powerful, capable, intelligent and amazing character. why should I care about a characters sexuality? I do not care about it in real life. It has never had the slightest impact on how I feel about a person or how I form my assessment of their character . shouldn’t I find inspiration and hope and joy in the characters for their intellectual and moral positions. Not in a trait as immaterial as sexuality, something that has more in common with hair color than it does with moral or intellectual strength.

  • kamenetz

Doesn’t matter. I don’t go to any hollyweird glitterati movies. The only ones I actually do spend money on, are ones made by patriots and real Americans like Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper”.

“PETITION TO ‘DICTATE TO ARTISTS AND POLICE THEIR CREATIVE EXPRESSION’ LAUNCHED
…a better title for this petition I think.

  • 0bsoleteMan

We should all sign this just to see if they do it lol.

  • Elle Ay

Why can’t the 2779 petitioners create their OWN character, not hijack someone else’s creativity, with whatever personality traits they deem appropriate, and market their own story compilations and let the free market decide whether this is something the paying public want?

Typical socialists – want everything ‘done for them’ – piggy backing someone else’s input – lazy.

    • Rusty Esq

I like the old Wonder Woman and didn’t enjoy the new one at all. However, they have the right to change the character as they see fit. The petitioners also have the right to ask. However, making Wonder Woman bisexual would be as predictable as Tom Cruise doing an action movie.
The article nailed it. It’s not the petition or the choice, it’s asking why should she be sexualised. Does the story really have to exploit her sexuality for ticket sales? With Patti. Jenkins (whom I don’t respect in general), the answer is likely to be “yes”.
James Cameron’s criticisms on Jenkins’ work were spot on. The man who created Aliens’ Ripley was right to criticise the shallowness of the female characters in Wonder Woman. They were pathetic.

  • shhhhh

All this for a fictional character… Make her green for all I care… I do not spend money on hollywood propaganda so if they want to make her a crippled, cross eyed, asian tranny with alopecia universalis and the gout, as Carlin said, “won’t bother my ass none” … Im sure Gal Gadot (Conservative Jewish Values and her ultra rich hubby) Will have final say… either way, I will have fun streaming any movie for free in the comfort of my living room… so hollywood, do your worst

    • Rusty Esq

      You nailed it!

I watched Oceans 12 the other day and Catherine Zeta Jones played her part as a confident (but not knowing everything) agent very well. In Hollywood today, that role would be heaped with scorn. While I look forward to Oceans 8, I’m also fearing it may be another divisive movie like the new Ghost Busters was.
Hollywood has become less diverse, more racist and more sexist. Box office sales show that people are turning their backs on tinsel town. The New York Times assures us that it’s because of Rotten Tomatoes though.

      • shhhhh

Exactly! We all need to stop whining and stop paying for these movies… Let them make superman a vegan hipster transplant who wants bikes all over brooklyn and im like eh… I rather have a drink out with my wife or play fight with my dog.. life is way to short to be offended and waste brain cells on “diversity”

  • a01

    Why not a bisexual transgender…

  • DaisyToo

Why is the Left so intent on squeezing the life out of sex?

  • fugly

So Wonder Woman, except in a one bedroom apartment with 20 cats and her flanel-draped bowl cut gf? How is that entertaining?

  • PaulMurrayCbr

Wonder Woman is the daughter of Zeus. Those ancient greek gods used to do it with animals (or, in the shape of animals). As Casey points out – what WW does with her vagoo on her off hours just isn’t relevant to her hero story.

  • Steve O

The bigger surprise would be that Superman was not gay.

  • jackp_7788

Make her bisexual. The only way I’ll ever watch WW is if she’s getting it on with another chick.

  • Hairatic Rick

Show her tits and you can make her into anything you wait. If you make her bi you better add some shots of her rug muching or keep you delusional sex/gender crap out of the comics and movies made from them. #comicgate
Make your own pornography and leave comics alone. #comicgate

  • Raymond Hietapakka

Why not a one-eyed, left-handed, albino, visible minority, transgender, transcolor French- Canadian-speaking Aboriginal with scoliosis, a cleft palate and a speech impediment who is tri-sexual but draws the line at goats and plays guitar upside down like Dick Dale?
