When an Austin, Texas movie theater announced they were holding women-only screenings of “Wonder Woman” in June, leftists went wild with delight.

The Alamo Drafthouse, a theater chain, expanded those screenings to New York and Denver.

Now, the leftist blog Salon has figured out what those with common sense knew all along – holding “woman-only” screenings is both discriminatory and illegal.

Salon grudgingly reported on the theater chain’s apology letter admitting their woman-only screenings violated anti-discrimination laws, writing:

“As it turns out, the complaints have at least some legal merit. Austin city equality codes ban any public accommodation — such as a movie theater — from limiting their services for individuals based on factors including race, color, sex, sexual orientation and gender identification. It’s a situation even Wonder Woman couldn’t fix.”

Salon was promptly roasted for being surprised that discrimination is illegal, when a men-only or straight-only movie theater would immediately draw howls of  “discrimination” from the left.

The obvious sexism of the theater chain wasn’t an issue for the left, but Salon at least has been forced to recognize that anti-discrimination laws also can protect straight white men.

Let’s see if the left learns anything before the premiere of Marvel’s “Black Panther,” a film for which leftists have already enthusiastically demanded “all-black” screenings.

Nothing better then using Liberals’ own laws against them!

    • Isa Guy✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Alinsky 4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

  • Whatta Buncha Whiners! So they had a screening for just women? it didn’t mean men couldn’t see the movie – just THAT screening on THAT day. Go later. Go earlier. Go to a different theater. Grow up and quit being babies.

    • Louis Badalament

I’d rather they enjoy their lawful right to see a movie wherever and whenever they want to see it, segregationist.

    • Chesapeake

      They were proving a point.

      • Trevor Evenson

That women cant be sexist, like blacks cant be racist?

        • Chesapeake

Just the opposite. How many men flocked to see Wonder Woman? It was more about breaking anti-discrimination laws. I’m glad they sued.

    • tammie

You mean like the women who were all for it?

    • OreWaSpyke

Don’t get to argue for rights and legislation then complain when people fuck you over with said legislation. Maybe if it wasn’t such poorly thought out trash legislature it wouldn’t be so easily abused by both sides of this.

      So no, fuck you.

    • kkruger71

Yeah, that’s what everyone was mad about; not being able to go to that screening. It’s not that they were angry at the blatant hypocrisy or anything.

    • Charles Perigord

Sexual chauvinism is wrong no matter which sex is perpetrating it.

    • I_h8_disqus

As the Salon article shows, there was a teaching moment, and liberals learned something from it.

      • Manius

The only thing they learned is to be more careful with their hypocrisy and discrimination.

      • Bibliotheca ab Nova Roma

“…and liberals learned something from it.”

        …*citation needed*

    • contrariant

So whites should be able to watch a movie without blacks talking loud and making noise – RIGHT?

    • David Perry

The whole problem is… if they had a men only screening… they would be burning down cities… screaming from the rooftops about inequality. Modern day feminism is twisted into hate men. It has nothing to do with equality.

    • GTKRWN

      Bake my fucking cake, libtard.

    • Bibliotheca ab Nova Roma

It’s called “equality before the law” sweetie. It’s one of the most fundamental precepts of the American legal system. Don’t worry, you won’t need to understand it when you grow up. By then it’ll be a distant memory, replaced by “woke justice” a legal principle that emphasizes prudent analysis of the relative “privilege” of individual citizens in order to more efficiently ensure that those with more “privilege” are treated with a consequently heavier hand by the State, thereby negating said privilege and making all citizens *truly* “equal” in the eyes of the learned masters of Social Justice at the FBSJE (Federal Bureau of Social Justice Enforcement). You’ll love it.

      PS: Feminism is Cancer. 😉

How many feminists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
    One to screw it in.
One to excoriate men for creating the need for illumination.
One to blame men for inventing such a faulty means of illumination.
One to suggest the whole “sc rewing” bit to be too “r ape-like”.
One to deconstruct the light bulb itself as being phallic.
One to blame men for not changing the bulb.
One to blame men for trying to change the bulb instead of letting a woman do it.
One to blame men for creating a society that discourages women from changing light bulbs.
One to blame men for creating a society where women change too many light bulbs.
One to advocate that light bulb changers should have wage parity with electricians.
One to alert the media that women are now “out-light bulbing” men.
One to just sit there taking pictures for her blog for photo-evidence that men are unnecessary.

    • Edwin Hutchins

How many feminists does it take to screw in a light bulb ? Pick one of them, they will hold the bulb and wait for the world to revolve around them

    • Steve O

      The version I heard:

“How many feminists does it take to…”
      “That’s not funny!!!”

    • Luminous Flux

      None, feminists cant change anything.

    • Mark Turner

That last sentence is just killer. I know a bitch around the corner who does just that. Everybody knows she needs a proper man apart from her it seems.

    • GTKRWN

      >One to screw it in.

No, that was still a man. They whined until the one guy in the office that they keep calling whenever they need to lift something over 20lbs got the ladder, because none of them wanted to risk chipping a nail doing it for themselves. Though they’d still bitch about him not working fast enough while they sat in the dark. I worked in an environment that was less than 2% male for nearly ten years, and changed many a bulb.

How about ladies night when they drink half price?

    • Garrett Gutierrez

      ssshsh shssshhhhh SHSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH

    • Jim Sterrett

thats just smart business. (most) women come in and nurse a drink or two but since so many women come in, it draws in men as well who drink A LOT more. so the bar makes more money than it loses. granted, theres always that one chick…

  • Jan Hellsund

Now I’m confused. The geniuses at Google say that men and women are the same. But transgenders and these people say they’re completely different. Come on liberals – pick one!

Are you serious?……Wait, never mind, I know you are. What, do they WANT the movie to tank? Nowhere near as many black folks care about comics as compared to white folks. And Black Panther was an awesome as shit character, as what another character from Civil War.

“Move, or you will be moved.”

    OH SHIT!
