University of Missouri continues death spiral after sacrificing dignity and integrity to deranged student protesters.

The misery slamming Mizzou is only getting worse following their shameful 2015 performance when, faced with a mob of entitled, cultish students throwing tantrums, they responded by agreeing to more or less everything. Even this past July there was plenty for us to talk about with university enrollment falling by 35% over two years, seven dorms closing, and over 400 positions being cancelled.

Recently, however, Jillian Kay Melchior of The Wall Street Journal offered not only some scathing alumni reports regarding the University of Missouri, but some additional damage statistics. Melchior writes:

“As classes begin this week, freshmen enrollment is down 35% since the protests, according to the latest numbers the university has publicly released. Mizzou is beginning the year with the smallest incoming class since 1999. Overall enrollment is down by more than 2,000 students, to 33,200. The campus has taken seven dormitories out of service.”

[…]

“Mizzou’s 2016 football season drew almost 13,000 fewer attendees than in 2015, local media reported. During basketball games, one-third of the seats in the Mizzou Arena sat empty.”

One of perhaps the most fitting accounts included by Melchior came from a Mr. Victor Wirtz:

“At breakfast this morning, my wife and I agreed that MU is NOT a school we would even consider for our three children,” wrote Victor Wirtz, a 1978 alum, adding that the university “has devolved into the Berkeley of the Midwest.”

This is the legacy schools bring upon themselves when they encourage and appease the SJW hordes. Violence, intolerance, and cowardice. People avoid the Berkleys and the Mizzous because, no matter how lofty their past reputations may be, the enabling of thuggery and entitlement leads to nothing but embarrassment. PC policies just don’t lend themselves to making money, loyal alumni, or educated student bodies.

That’s because the “CTRL-left” chased everybody else away and it’s going to cost them. Agent 99 asked that we spread “CTRL-left” around.

        • David Watts

I remember that from the 2016 campaign: 99 is right: this should be revived, not abandoned. If the left hates therm ‘alt-left’ so much, we’ll go back to this, and they can have their own, very special, snowflakey name.

          • January

99 said it came from somebody else but pass it along. It fits. ALT-left is too close to ALT-right. See if we can help 99 get it going.

May Mizzou die a painful death as a warning to other appeasers.

They won’t learn, leftists never do. Their eradication will prevent future events.

The irony is Mizzou in in the heartland. Good that they are getting less funding, job losses and parents are refusing to pay for their little darlings there!! Congrats!! Way to go!! Hurt them in the pocketbook!!

Let them burn on the altar of political correctness.

    • What makes you think they are not?

The full effect on enrollment won’t be felt until they’re four years in. They’re halfway there.

One only has to look at the typical leaders of these “movements” to see why they ultimately fail.

Throughout Sub-Sahara Africa there were numerous European colonies all the way up to the 1950’s. While not exactly benevolent in their colonialism and acquisition of natural resources, sometimes downright brutal and inhumane, they did cultivate a culture and society. They build infrastructure, they instituted ranching and agriculture, food was plentiful, there were jobs, there was an economy, there was tourism and economic mobility for those willing to work for it. Then came the move to end apartheid. It was viewed as white colonial rule, which it largely was, and an unfair system to the native Africans. So the colonies over time pulled resources and managed the transition of power from the white elite to the natives. They gave in to their demands and handed them the keys to the castle, let them have it all. And what did they do with it? They unilaterally dismantled and destroyed it. They stole land from white farmers (when they didn’t outright kill them), they moved in to the fancy resorts and capital buildings. They took over all branches of government. And within a matter of just a decade or two corruption, famine, disease, rape, and murder all skyrocketed. Society fell apart. It wasn’t that they just didn’t know how to uphold the infrastructure, their culture has no value or appreciation for it. Their culture is one of today’s necessities and wants with no thought for the future. They are a people incapable of thinking in any terms other than the immediate, they care only for instant gratification. And who did they blame? The colonialists, white people for not giving and leaving them enough.

The people who lead these protests and rallies and the people who line up behind them are the descendants of these people. Low IQ people who can only think in the here and now with no thought for the future. They destroy on the premise of making the world better but lack the ability to even fathom tomorrow. So when are we going to finally learn from our mistakes? Benevolence and humanitarian causes only enable these people to continue their ignorant destruction. Why continually hand over society to people intent on destroying it with nothing to replace it?

I’ve heard it said there are two approaches: you can either bring the “goodies” (i.e. Western science, technology, medicine, systems of government, law and order, etc.) TO a developing country, or you can bring the people from that country into an already-developed one to share the ‘goodies’ already in place there. Both breed resentment from one group or another, but: historically, it’s pretty obvious which of the two is the most beneficial to the most people.

I am a Mizzou alumn class of ’04 it hurts to see what has happened down there and it is such a shame the Administration allowed this to get out of hand. All based on fake news reports like the retracted sighting of a KKK member on campus. Everyone of the protestors should have been dismissed from the University. Thank you so much for this Milo! You should stop in for a lecture there I am sure they would love to have you! Best! J

God. They deserve to wither and die. As does every single campus that restricts the basic constitutional rights of its students.

  • Roger Edward Harris

They appeased Hitler and got WWII and the more they appease these hate filled antifa’s/SJW’s, the worse it is going to get.

An example must be set. Mizzou was an impressive college once. Unfortunately for all of it proud alumni, history, and accomplishments; it must be made an example of if it continues on its present day fascist course. I don’t care if the new fascists are black, yellow with pink polka dots, or any other color, creed, gender, whatever. Fascism, especially the toxically deceitful variety that is feminist identity politics must go. Even if we have to sacrifice numerous institutions to do it.

  • Aaron Nijsse

As a proud resident of Missouri, I am ashamed that Mizzou is in our state.

So, the protests happened in 2015. Hopefully, another 2 years of lower admission rates will show a full four years of decline.

At 35% decline so far, after 4 years they may drop by 70%.

If Americans would do this with all leftist institutions, we would see real change.
