Amid the ongoing turmoil surrounding Donald Trump Jr.’s reported meeting with a Russian lawyer promising damaging information about Hillary Clinton, many appear to be overlooking one key thing  – there’s nothing unusual about Don Jr.’s behavior.

“Many Trump critics claimed that the NYT report supported the theory that members of the Trump campaign were somehow involved in the Russian government’s hacking of Clinton campaign chair John Podesta and the Democratic National Committee,” The Daily Caller’s Peter Hasson points out.

“But Trump Jr., Kushner and Manafort’s lone meeting with the Russian lawyer pales when compared to the coordination between Clinton allies and Ukrainian government officials who hoped to see Clinton win the 2016 election.”

Hasson goes on to cite a January article by Politico titled, “Ukraine’s efforts to sabotage Trump backfire.”

That article states, “Donald Trump wasn’t the only Presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.”

“Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.”

Politico’s piece goes on state, “the Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia.”

Of course, liberals are looking past this completely and acting as if arranging to meet foreign officials alleging to be in possession of damaging information on a political opponent is literally the worst thing ever.

“To meet with an adversary to try to get information to hijack democracy, the investigation is now more than just an obstruction of justice investigation, more than just a perjury investigation, it’s a treason investigation,” Hillary Clinton’s own running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine insisted earlier today.

Meanwhile on Twitter, many liberals are parroting that statement.

Some people are putting perspective on the whole thing, however.

So what Trump Jr. Did was bad, but it was ok for Dems/McCain/FBI to pay a former British spy to manufacture the Trump Dossier?

it’s normal election opposition research, neither of them did anything wrong unless the files were provided illegally and used illegally thereafter

All of this, and handed the evil, dastardly, women destroying, muslim hating, feminist shunning Putin 1/5 of our Uranium with Obama, and several other top leader positions in his cabinet. Yet the MSM….nothing but the sound of silence.

I hate the GOPees almost as much as I hate the Donkey-D’s. But based on the Donkey-D’s performance as of late, the GOPees have moved up a point. They are at negative 2. Maybe that is too high.
