A group of gay Trump supporters have claims it will not be allowed to attend the Charlotte Pride Parade because of its political leaning.

According to Fox5, Brian Talbert, one of the men who has been denied entry into the parade, said, “I’m very proud of my country, proud of my president, and was once proud of my community.”

“I’m very proud of my vote. I don’t regret my vote. I will vote for Donald Trump again. I’m proud of my President. I don’t think I should be vilified because I’m proud of a U.S. President as an American.”

According to Talbert, he and another gay Trump supporter applied to have a float at Charlotte Pride this year.

“It was going to be fun. We wanted to be energetic. We wanted to show that we weren’t the racist, bigot, misogynistic…We wanted to show that we are Americans, love our country and our president. We wanted to be there to celebrate gay pride. Everything fell into place except being able to celebrate who I am,” Talbert said.

Charlotte Pride denied his request.

In a written statement, a spokesperson for Charlotte Pride reportedly said:

“Charlotte Pride reserves the right to decline participation at our events to groups or organizations which do not reflect the mission, vision and values of our organization, as is acknowledged in our parade rules and regulations by all groups at the time of their parade application. In the past, we have made similar decisions to decline participation from other organizations espousing anti-LGBTQ religious or public policy stances.”

“Charlotte Pride envisions a world in which LGBTQ people are affirmed, respected and included in the full social and civic life of their local communities, free from fear of any discrimination, rejection, and prejudice.”

“Charlotte Pride invites all individuals, groups, organizations and causes which share our values to join our community’s celebration of the LGBTQ community, history, arts and culture during the Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade, Aug. 26-27, 2017.”

“For a group of people to claim to want tolerance, acceptance, and give it to every single person you can imagine to give it to, for them to sit back and judge me for exercising my right as an American to choose my leader without judgment is hypocritical,” noted Talbert.

“I don’t judge them for how they vote. I believe men and women died to give us that right to choose our own leader. They don’t extend the same courtesy to me being a gay Republican.”

Talbert plans to file a lawsuit against Charlotte Pride for discrimination.

I have never been to a gay pride parade (don’t believe we need floats to let the world know who we are banging). However, being from the area and having a LBGTrump kid – we are all going this year in our LBGTrump shirts and screw them all (not literally)

    • Scott

      You would get really tired

    • legtingle

lexingtonchick….I (years ago) went to some gay pride parades with friends, while at university. They were pretty wild, but I liked that my friends had a great day and felt some happy/pride/fun feelings. 10 years later, I went to the SF parade. NOT A THING TO TAKE A KID TO. Please look into this…you don’t want this in their brains. Hope you take this as a friendly heads up.

      • lexingtonnchick

My kid is 30 and gay and a Trump supporter.

        • Karen Curtis

          Mine is too!!

    • myddrinemrys

My first question would be the age of the LGBTrump kid. 18+? Go, but be prepared to be shocked at the hedonism on display. It is why the first “pride” parade I went to will be my last.

The LGTBQIA+EIEIO community “leaders” are all far-left regressives that push the identity politics narrative full force. Most of the gays that don’t agree with the nonsense simply go about our lives and shake our heads at the idiocy.

      • lexingtonnchick

She is 30. Wouldn’t take the grandkids

        • myddrinemrys

Yeah. Mislead with the appellation of “kid.” Def. leave the grandkids at home, enjoy(?) the freak show, and be safe if you are going in your Trump shirts.

    • Most people go for the eye candy. Since I don’t like loud sports bars and tailgate parties, gay pride parades aren’t my thing either. Military parades? That’s a different story. We should have more of those, the way the Soviets used to do it with tanks and things. Show the populace the tools of war!

    • Randy Eubanks

Why dont we ever hear of you guys!

    • Adam Nugent

I hope you video this experience. ; ]

The sphere of tolerance just keeps getting smaller.

charlotte has turned into the cesspool of this state….and overtaking Assheville wasn’t an easy feat…

    • femme_du_chats

I was really surprised at how left-leaning it was, especially after moving here from the PNW, which is pretty d*mn liberal.

      • Crazy Cat Lady

@femme_du_chats – I like your Disqus handle. 🙂 Mine should be “Fou de chats”. 😀

        • femme_du_chats

Thanks. 🙂 It came about from being kind of a typo (du vs des was always my downfall when I studied French) and kind of a nickname my French teacher gave me because I could never get those two straightened out, and she knew I was a crazy cat lady, haha.

          I like yours too!

the banking industry has drawn a lot of them in from NY and Chiraq..and a lot of the creatives in A’ville have relocated there because of the high prices in A’ville and relatively low prices in CLT….

  • Jim

I am sure they are more willing to admit a Jihadist playing the islamaphobia victim card rather than any of the gay Trump supporters.

Here’s what the idiotic city council/county commissioners are up to lately: http://www.charlotteobserver dot com/news/politics-government/article154667879

ACLU APPROVES! coz it ain’t Christianity!

  • PolishFreedomFighter

The “LGBT community” resembles a cult in many ways. You are welcome as long as you subscribe to all of their left-wing political beliefs and ideologies. Once you fail to conform, however, be prepared to be cast out.

    • Pierre Savoie

It’s a package-deal. You can’t disagree with any piece of the platform even one little bit.

  • Panabaker

    “Charlotte Pride
envisions a world in which LGBTQ people are affirmed, respected and
included in the full social and civic life of their local communities,
free from fear of any discrimination, rejection, and prejudice.”………and for that reason you will not be allowed to participate in the pride parade……the more I read about these liberals the more I believe that they have a mental illness…..

  • Daniel Zimmerman

Charlotte Gay Pride should rename itself Charlotte Gay Prejudice.

  • d gasawa

    Charlotte Pride Bigots.

  • That’s a shame. Gay conservatives are cool, and they usually mind their own business and don’t throw their sexuality down everyone’s throat. They’re not insane like gay liberals.

    • myddrinemrys

Mainly because our sexuality is not the core of who we are as a person. I am a fiscally conservative, socially moderate CLASSICAL liberal who tends to vote based on issues instead of by party. I’m also a part-time law student who works a full-time job.

Oh. AND I just happen to be gay. Not something I go around shouting from the rooftops, and NOT how I start every conversation. It is literally the LEAST significant thing about me.

      • Karen Curtis

It’s not the first thing I think of either when I meet a person- who cares? I think a lot of gay people are like you

        • myddrinemrys

A lot are. Unfortunately, it’s the shrieking harpies that garner all of the attention.

  • MarinLocal

They’re only the ‘Party of Inclusion’ as long as you ‘pick their cotton’…

    • #OffThePlantation

Exactly, which is why I am no longer a democrat.

  • Pierre Savoie

The gays should recognize Trump as the best friend they’ve ever had. Some are looking under rocks for the shadowy “systemic” discrimination (“systemic” is a leftist code-word for “we have no proof but we have faith it’s there”). But they don’t want to walk into a mosque for the blatant jihadist discrimination against gays; old crazies with beards who openly call for the death of gays (and some young men here and there who LISTEN!) Trump is calling out Muslims and touts direct solutions like travel and immigration bans.

    • breandan

I love this: “systemic” discrimination (“systemic” is a leftist code-word for “we have no proof but we have faith it’s there”)

  • breandan

So they ban a bunch of gays because their values are not in line with the Pride parade organizers but they get incensed and cry discrimination when they get banned themselves from the Saint Patrick’s Day parade.

    • Venus

Or when someone politely refuses to print their t-shirts or bake their cakes.

  • disqus_tk6e1XOPLN

Did my comment get deleted? Was I censored on Milo’s page?

  • JES2014 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ ᵀʳᵘᵐᵖ

And Trump supporters & conservatives are the intolerant, bigoted ones? Yeah…I’ll write that down.

  • Kathy Pollard Gray

So they have the right to decide who they let in the parade by following their mission and values , but a bakery does not have the same rights, how screwed up is that.

    • Venus

      Exactly

These parades are devise, irrelevant not to mention embarrassing. And I’m saying that as a gay man.

Save your dignity. Get rid of them. —Dante

Not my lifestyle choice, BUT I support free speech and the LGBT who support Trump and Conservatives to be able to live freely in what THEY choose. I wouldn’t be here otherwise and love Milo, can’t wait for his book. I’m happy that LGBT who are smart see through the BS of unchecked illegal and scuzlim immigration that threaten their lifestyle choose DJT/R’s (not RINOs) and conservatives. I’d fight for their choice, to keep their support on OUR side, and am dissapointed that once again the libturds within LGBT are doing this.

  • John Thompson

Ironic, considering that President Trump was for gay marriage when Hillary and Obama were against it, reaffirmed an Obama Executive Order guaranteeing Queer folks the right to be free from workplace discrimination. and appointed an openly gay ambassador to the UN. President Trump is arguably the most PRO-GAY President America has ever known, and yet we see this nonsense.

When will you stop being played by the Left and learn to think for yourselves??

  • parkerds61

How is Trump anti-gay? He has already voiced support and even demanded a gay person can speak at the GOP convention. Looks to me Charlotte Pride is the discriminator.
