Daily Mail is reporting that an Oxford University student may be spared jail time because a Judge doesn’t want to damage an ‘extraordinary’ student’s dreams…
24-year old Lavinia Woodward reportedly punched and stabbed a man she met through Tinder while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Daily Mail is reporting that she not only punched him and stuck a bread knife into his leg, but she actually threw a laptop, jam jar, and glass at him during the assault. Now, a judge is saying he thinks giving her any type of jail time would be too damaging to her career as an aspiring surgeon. Ironically, the Judge, Ian Pringle, has previously criticized other officials for granting a drug dealer bail, reportedly calling it “absolutely staggering” that she was released on bail after a drug dealing charge.
Judge Ian Pringle reportedly told Oxford Crown Court:
‘It seems to me that if this was a one-off, a complete one-off, to prevent this extraordinary able young lady from not following her long-held desire to enter the profession she wishes to, would be a sentence which would be too severe.
‘What you did will never, I know, leave you but it was pretty awful, and normally it would attract a custodial sentence, whether it is immediate or suspended.’
