Later today, UC Berkeley will reportedly be holding a debate on “why it’s right, and righteous, to drive fascists off campus, out of Berkeley and out of power.”
Berkeleyside has shared a flyer for the event identifying its date and time as Thursday, May 4 at 6:00 PM at the Hearst Field Annex in Building D, Room D37 at UC Berkeley.

“Fascists are targeting Berkeley,” the flyer reads. “A series of intellectual hitmen for the Trump/Pence regime – Ann Coulter, Milo Yiannopoulos, David Horowitz – have zeroed in on UC Berkeley.”
It continues, “twice in April, hundreds of ready-to-brawl “alt-right” white supremacists, neo-Nazis, bikers, and militia descended on downtown Berkeley.”
“THIS IS NOT ABOUT ‘FREE SPEECH,'” the flyer further declares. It ultimately concludes by slamming Democrats like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren who spoke up for Coulter’s right to free speech after her event at the college was canceled late last month.
Feminist Sunsara Taylor will apparently be hosting the debate, which has already garnered quite a bit of reaction from people.

UC Berkeley wasn’t always this antsy about letting people speak their minds on campus.
Once upon a time, the school was actually the center of the free speech movement, with Mario Savio making his now-infamous speech at the college in 1964.
Ironically, Mario Savio’s own son Daniel is one of the people attempting to shut people like MILO down.
MILO’s had quite a bit of fun with this fact, such as in the Facebook status below.
"Savio argued that while his father would have broadly supported all people’s rights to speak on campus, there are…
MILO has also announced the Mario Savio award, which will be presented to Ann Coulter during his triumphant return to UC Berkeley.
